Hotel berhampiran Ergenekon Secondary School, Istanbul

OK, so the hotel is in a slightly odd location. It is opposite the shipyards, but is relatively close by taxi to SAW airport, and we chose it for this (not being sure if the trains ran late into Istanbul). I think about 15 minutes by taxi, but we did not go by taxi, we got the red metro from SAW to Pendik (15TL) and then walked to the other Pendik station and got the Marmary line direction Gebze, I think 30 TL). This is quite a walk (20 mins), but we like walking and public transport, and both the red line and marmary line are on the Istanbulkart. In case anyone is wondering, it is fair way out of Istanbul. We were welcomed by Miss Busra on reception who was extremely helpful and allowed us to organise a different room, and also gave us a late check out. The room was fabulous, the best we have stayed in during our 16 night stay in Turkey. We used the pool, steamroom and sauna and these were all excellent. Pool was very good because it was warm. Breakfast was fine, plenty of choice. All staff were very friendly. I would recommend it for people arriving late into SAW who go by taxi. Good little shop 2 minutes away that sells alcohol, drinks and snacks. Thank you to Miss Busra and the team (from the English Mum and Daughter)

Receptionist/ restaurant team is friendly, some do not speak good English, room is clean and well equipped, breakfast diverse and tasty. Gym is poor and lack of hygiene. Last floor’s restaurant may tell you that the terrasse is reserved, but it’s unfortunately incorrect; they keep it for certain customers. Had same scenario in 2 days in a row. That said, food is tasty and great view. Prices over expensive for locals and mid class, work for tourists and/or business travelers. Getting a commission if reception team asks for a taxi is not OK for a +/4 stars hotel (paid more, taxi driver told me after about the reason).

The staff here was absolutely AMAZING. From the time I got there til checkout they always had my best interest in mind. Regardless of the language barrier they went above and beyond to ensure I felt comfortable. Special thanks to Gizem who took care of me every night for dinner and her manager musa. They made me feel at home. Look forward to coming back with my wife.

This might have been a nice place when it was constructed. But looks like it has been neglected since. On the good side, the rooms are spacious, mine had quite large balcony (maybe they all do - I am not sure). The location is convenient for closeness to SAW airport and the price is quite nice for the proximity. The rooms are also quiet, despite being close to the airport. On the bad side, the same balcony was quite dirty. The linen on the bad had holes and hair not my for sure - easy to distinguish by the length (pffff, disgusting). The bathroom was leaking (not too much, but still unexpectedly. There was rust on the metal parts there and the shower was damaged (see photos). The breakfast is average, although I did not see the omelette (could have been just late, but still within the breakfast time). The location is close to the airport, but if you want anything else, be ready to travel by taxi - there is nothing (and I mean it) around. Even no view: all you can see is the road, scrapyards and little plots of farmed land. All in all, the hotel was probably good when new, but not repaired and looked after since. It is probably fine for 1-2 nights stay if you have any business at the Sabiha Gökçen airport, but other than that better look elsewhere.

One of the best hotel I have stay in my life the location is very nice. Staff are very friendly very helpful. Food is very amazing and the location is so beautiful People are kind, service within 10 seconds, from arrival to leaving and in between; clean spacious rooms, excellent shower-pressure, wardrobe & otherfacilities. Bar&restaurant are perfect, try the gin-tonic! Nice waiters and waitresses being interested in comforting you and to have some fun & good atmosphere. Nice big light lobby and excellent situated along the coast and near to the airport. Best breakfast ever! Really! And if you want to go for shopping or lingering along, there is plenty opportunities in the neighborhood.

Comfortable place to stay for those who need quick access to Sabiha Gökçen airport which is a 5 minute drive away. Rooms are well kept & comfortable. Staff is friendly & accommodating. Couple of hundred meters away from some excellent food courts & a couple of small malls. Great choice for those in for a very long haul between flights or a short business trip to Istanbul. The Starbucks on their premises is a definite plus too.

We chose this hotel because of the good reviews and ratings and glad we did . We needed to be near the airport and wanted somewhere with good facilities. We wanted to relax but also have a really good gym and pool . The gym here is first class , very modern with all the latest equipment, the pool large , and a beautiful sitting ,relaxing environment around it . We both really had good workouts here that set us up for the day . It was my husband’s birthday when we stayed here and the hotel provided a lovely cake and fruit , thank u . Our room was very comfortable with a nice balcony to sit out on , immaculately clean and very quiet . My husband really enjoyed the breakfast there said there was a really good choice . I corresponded with Gulbahar a lot before we stayed at the hotel , she was always very quick to get back to me and ultra friendly and efficient . Getting into Istanbul is quite easy from this hotel , it’s just literally a straight motorway that doesn’t get congested , we did it quite a few times and it was nice to get back to the hotel out of Istanbul and relax . It’s in a nice area lots of restaurants and shops near . I’d really recommend this hotel especially if your flights arriving in Istanbul late or you just want a nice hotel to stay . We requested a late check out as we didn’t really want to leave and just enjoyed using the gym, pool area so much . Also there is a wonderful Swiss chocolate cafe on the ground floor there chocolates are all homemade and delicious thank you Valide for making sure we tried them . This is a kind hotel , very generous and giving and the manager should be proud of the great job he’s doing and his staff, we will return.

Airport Residence Hotel Review Location: Some reviews have commented the hotel is not near the airport. It is not at, or on the airport but it is very close to SAW Airport on the Asian side of Istanbul. Its maybe 5 minutes in a taxi, its not walking distance. It is NOT close to IST Airport which is the other airport in Istanbul which is on the European side of the (massive) city. If you want to be close to down-town Istanbul centre, or IST airport then this hotel is not so convenient for that. We were looking to be in the Pendik area and this hotel is perfect for that. For local transport it is easy to get taxi, Bitaksi or Uber here, there are also bus stops just outside the hotel. Neighbourhood: Some reviews complained about the neighbourhood. It is fine. It is working class Turkish city suburbs. It is not a tourist five star beach resort. There is a shopping mall to the side of the hotel but it is not so great. There are plenty of shops and café and restaurants on the street and there are three supermarkets along the street also. Walk a little further there is a big shopping mall with clothes stores and fashion stuff etc. There are even some of the global chain operations like Costa Coffee and Burger King if you want. The restaurants on the street are cheaper and nicer though! Reception, facilities: The hotel is a fairly basic hotel. There is no business centre, no gym, no pool. There is a front desk and the breakfast area. The reception was helpful and efficient. Good English is spoken. The guys on desk seemed friendly to me all the time I was there. The breakfast is fairly basic cold buffet with tea from a samovar and juice. There is free Wi-Fi – I stayed a week for work and found the Wi-Fi to be good for work use. Rooms: I had an apartment suite on the fifth floor. The room was spacious and comfortable. I had one double bedroom, one bedroom with twin single beds. There was an additional single bed in the lounge/dining room area. Nice big sofa. There is a small kitchenette but no cooking equipment (nor crockery, cutlery) is provided. I borrowed some cutlery etc from breakfast so I could eat in my room from food I brought in from the local shops and takeouts. I used the fridge to store iced tea and fruit juice etc. There is a kettle to make tea and coffee – provide your own tea & coffee though. There is a shower room but not a bath. Basic bathroom sundries are provided. The bed was comfortable, the mattress firm, the linen and towels were clean and fresh every day. There was no wear other signs of age to the linens. The room was quiet and I slept well. The room décor is basic but fresh and appropriate. Some reviews mentioned the air conditioning being a problem. I stayed one week in March 2023 and the air conditioning worked perfectly. The room was serviced daily and kept clean. Overall: This is a value priced hotel which offers a good service and a good standard of “no-frills” accommodation. It

I liked the hotel, the staff (Tatyana, Mohamed,Mostafa). The room was dusty with some moulds in the shower. The breakfast is good but not a 5 stars quality. No varieties. Other than that, everything was perfect; the location, the view from my room, the staff and the liby area.

We chose to stay at Crown Plaza. Istanbul- Asia for its proximity to Sabiha Gokcen and Viaport Shopping Outlet only to find this is no ordinary airport hotel. The hotel exudes an old world five star glamour. Dinner and breakfast at the restaurant was very good.
