We had a change of itinerary which meant that the hotel we booked was not in the ideal location for us and meant lot of going back and forth and as we had not booked free cancellation were able to modify or cancel the booking. There are places to eat nearby and a nice high street for breakfast, food, restaurants but not any convenience stores. There is a nice promenade for a walk however its a bit of a mission to cross to the other side of the busy road due to the fence. So you have to walk over the manned bridge. From there its a 1.5hours walk to Sultanahmet. There is no hotel shuttle so the only other option to get to the main sights is by taxi. In the winter time its not as bad maybe 10 minutes to Sultanahmet and 20 minutes to Galata Tower. The hotel is actually pretty decent, clean, bar area with free biscuits, luggage area. I wasn't too keen on the requirement to insert your card in the lift to use it, it had us confused esp as no one told us. They serve nice range of food at decent prices. The room was big enough for a couple, with all the standard mod cons like kettle, shower, free WIFI and also had a convenient chair, desk and couch. It also had a free safe which was easy to use and enough storage area. Room was clean and found the bed pretty comfortable. The sea view was great, maybe a room higher up might have been better.

The hotel was clean. It's what you expect from Ibis international brand. The rooms were clean, breakfast buffet was superb with many options of both hot and cold items. The lobby, restaurant, and lounge was all nicely renovated and modern. It's close walking distance to several malls and restaurants. We chose this hotel because it was in a busy area but close to the international school where our children had a basketball tournament. Dinner options were great at the nearby Marmara Park Mall. My biggest complaint was the check-in process. I checked in with my 13-year old daughter. Upon check-in, they asked for passport or local identity card. I had mine in my wallet, but i forgot my daughter's. Usually, in hotels in Turkey, if you forget to bring it, they ask you to show a copy. I showed them on my phone a copy of her id. But it took so long for the check-in person to make phone calls and verify if this was okay. First of all, nowhere in any of the confirmation emails did it say we needed to bring this, especially for a minor. And it took way too long for us to get our room key and check-in. I don't know what they would have done? Were they gonna ask my 13-year-old daughter to sleep outside, or in the lobby? Even if I didn't have a copy, they should have gone above and beyond in customer service to allow her to stay. I personally know that they just need her identity details to report every night to the authorities who is staying in their hotel. They can easily try to work with me and make us feel comfortable. My other complaint was the speed of the wifi in my room. Several times, there was no connection, or I got kicked off, and had to login again. Don't expect great streaming on your devices in this hotel.

I chose this hotel because it is conveniently located, just a short walk from the metro station. I came late because my flight landed at midnight. They were initially granted a room on the second floor facing the street, even at 2 a.m., but it overlooked street noise, so there was no need to speculate when daylight arrived and how it may be. I asked the receptionist, but he stated that was the greatest room he had assigned. Anyway, that I required to be relocated to a higher floor, and it looked better when I was assigned a room on the 7th floor on the opposite side with a skyline view, no traffic, no noise, and a more tranquil ambiance. The only plus aspect of this place is the cleaner, who is more friendly and thoroughly cleans my room: so you get less from what you pay for.

Stayed here for 1 night before our flight to London from IST airport the following day. Pros: - Hotel is located near the IST airport. - There is an airport bus Havaist 5A that stops at a bustop that is 2 mins walk away from the hotel. - Free early check-in along with a complimentary upgrade to a bigger room. - Amenities were basic but adequate considering the price. - Starbucks located in the lobby. - Breakfast has a live egg cooking station. Cons: - Sound proofing not good as it can be quite noisy when the heavy trucks passing by use their horn. We can also hear the people when they are outside our room and the closing of doors. Giving a 5 star rating based on the price paid against the value received.

I ended up in this hotel because I missed my connecting flight because of Pegasus airline. The non-smoking room was good. Look-wise the room was beautiful. The view from my room was good as well. Negative things I’ve noticed was that the bathroom door knob did not lock which was a bit weird. The mattress in the bed also moved a lot sideways so I had to wake up in the night and readjust it couple times. Things I appreciated is that the room had a kettle and variety of tea and coffee packets. The bathroom had plenty of towels and the soap & shampoo smelled excellent and it felt good on my skin. Unfortunately my bathroom didn’t have a toothbrush & toothpaste which I thought was common in hotels. I had to come to the hall and ask them and they asked me to sit down and wait for someone to bring it to me. Kinda weird that you don’t have toothbrush and toothpaste in the hall but you have necessities like deodorant. The breakfast buffet was excellent. Variety of foods and they were warm as well. The dessert section was a bit questionable because the pancake and waffles were rock solid. They had orange & apple juice and tea & coffee. Also water that tasted like fruits. The lunch was also good. The starter was some sort of vegetable soup with bread. The soup was great I wish the bread was a bit softer. The main course was good as well. Rice, potatoe wedges and some sort of meat. I couldn’t really tell what meat it was but it was really good. OH MY GOD the dessert was Turkish baklava and it left me speechless. I haven’t eaten baklava before but it was so good I couldnt even explain the taste. Overall I enjoyed the hotel and I would come back :)
