Mili B&B was the biggest surprise of this trip. The owners are a local, down-to-earth couple who are expecting a baby soon. Every evening, they'd join us for tea and a chat. A quote they shared, 'Why should a tiny speck of light fear competing with the bright moon?', was truly uplifting and helped us unwind. I've stayed in countless large hotels and upscale guesthouses, but Mili's comfort lies in its genuine human touch, feeling just like a gathering of old friends. It boasts a prime location, with the best coffee in Shaxi Ancient Town located right at its doorstep. Incredibly convenient and absolutely delightful!"

"This lovingly well managed boutique hotel stole our hearts the moment we stepped into the compound. Firstly, hospitality is at its best! Owner 潘姐 and her team are so welcoming and hospitable. We were so well taken care of throughout our two nights stay. Hotel is located within minutes walk to Shaxi old town. Fresh fruits and flowers arrangement grace the halls & rooms daily, making it such a charming and cosy place for guests to enjoy. Rooms are superbly well appointed with modern amenities & well curated furnishings. Bed and pillows are so comfortable that we slept very well. Breakfast is wonderful and delicious and there’s always a plate of fresh fruits served to us in the afternoons. Throughout the hotel, we see beautiful collection of Yunnan decorative ornaments well put together by Sister Pan. She is someone who puts in heart and soul into managing this boutique hotel & caring for her guests. We enjoyed our delightful conversations and were gifted a guide book of Yunnan authored by her husband董增旭. Thank you so much for the hospitality! Highly recommend this boutique hotel!"

"I booked this on a friend's recommendation. I went to Shaxi to experience the local culture and customs, so I loved this courtyard-style B&B, built in the style of traditional Bai ethnic minority dwellings! This local couple runs a local business, a place that doubles as a guesthouse and home. The owner and hostess were incredibly welcoming, helping with our luggage and asking about our well-being. It felt like home. They even have a cute and affectionate Border Collie who plays Frisbee with guests! The best part about the inn is the tranquil environment, with gurgling water, chirping birds, and fragrant flowers—it's so relaxing! You could always see the hostess busy cleaning and putting things away, and the cleanliness was impeccable! There's also their own parking lot right outside the door, a laundry terrace, and an audio-visual entertainment room—everything is included. Overall, for this price range, this inn is absolutely highly recommended!"

"The two landlords have super nice personalities! ! ! A lady showed us around all the available rooms when we checked in (we were so attracted by the corridor on the second floor that we immediately changed from a twin room to two double rooms hhhhhh), and another lady also asked about our stay experience very considerately before we checked out; The room decoration is also unique. Each room is named after a painter. A representative work of each painter and works of the same style are placed at the head of the bed. Many of the oil paintings should be painted by themselves. The room is equipped with floor heating and electric blankets, which makes it super warm to sleep at night~ After packing the luggage, Doujiang came to the room for a ”patrol”, probably to help see if there was anything left behind. Little fat cat, you don’t even have to work (jealous)! ! ! It’s a pity that I forgot to take pictures of the inn. It’s okay, I’ll make it up next time!"

"The inn is very beautiful, it is a 100 year old house, at the center of the town so it is very convenient to go visit all places. The owner is also very helpful, he helped pick up/deliver our luggages to the street where we got dropped off/departed. He also helped us to reserve seats for shared car to the next destination and answered any questions that we have (via translation apps or wechat). Everyone in the inn is friendly, highly recommended for staying in Shaxi."

"I highly recommend staying at this guesthouse in Shaxi. The small courtyard is very cozy. Breakfast was delicious, and the staff were incredibly warm and friendly. **Facilities:** They provide a Dyson hairdryer, and there's a separate tea room in the middle of the guesthouse, perfect for relaxing. You can sit there, enjoy some tea, and take in the view of the small alley outside the window – it's incredibly peaceful and pleasant. **Cleanliness:** Very good. **Ambiance:** Excellent. **Service:** The day before check-in, they call to confirm your arrival time and even pick you up from outside the scenic area to take you to the guesthouse. They greet you warmly every time you come and go, and are extremely helpful and enthusiastic when answering questions about local attractions."

"It was a great experience. When I was about to leave, I was pleasantly surprised to learn from other guests that this is the inn where Liu Yifei and Li Xian lived! There were mentions of the Dragon Boat Festival rice dumplings we ate, and folk songs played and sung by the boss. All the staff in the inn are super lovely people."

"The room was very nice and clean. We brought our children with us and they were a bit noisy. The owner was very patient and took extra care of us. It was a little quiet at night and we were next to the block at 9 o'clock. The area next to the hotel was also very beautiful, suitable for bringing children to get close to nature. Finally, we cooked a meal in the hotel. The owner generously agreed, although we didn't clean up well afterwards. In short, it was a very pleasant stay. Highly recommended👍"

The room is big enough, with plenty of space to store luggage and hang clothes. Clothes can be hung on the roof. The housekeeping is very good and responsive to requests, and there are enough bottled water pipes. The shopkeepers are kind and gentle. By the way, the yard is very beautiful.
