"The boss is very nice. He helped with the luggage and when the car broke down before leaving, he also helped find someone to repair it. The house is made entirely of wood. According to the boss, it was built more than three years ago. The room is very clean. The boss's courtyard has a literary atmosphere. As soon as you enter the courtyard, you feel very comfortable, just like coming home."

"A pleasant surprise! The place was spotlessly clean, the rooms were spacious, and all the facilities felt brand new. We loved the charming, elegantly designed courtyard. The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming, and the breakfast looked absolutely delicious. Plus, it's just a few minutes' walk to the ancient town. Our entire family was incredibly satisfied with our stay – it's the only time I've ever felt compelled to leave a positive review voluntarily!"

"The garden is very beautiful—my dad kept praising it for its charming Chinese traditional style and decoration. It definitely adds a peaceful and unique atmosphere to the place. The room was okay, but the toilet setup was quite disappointing. There was no door for privacy, and the toilet itself was the old-style squat type, which is uncomfortable—not suitable for elderly people, and even I found it hard to use. Other than that, everything else was fine. The breakfast was very simple: plain porridge served with salted vegetables, a hard-boiled egg, and some sweet potato. Don’t expect a big variety, but it’s enough to start the day."

"This was the best accommodation experience of our trip – the 'Jin Sheng You Ni' (Meaning 'Having You in This Life') B&B in Shaxi Ancient Town. The location was super easy to find! The room was incredibly clean, comfortable, cozy, and quiet, with birds chirping in the morning. The air conditioning was very powerful, and there was underfloor heating too. The bathroom heater worked great during showers, and they even provided cute little white bath bombs. Waking up and opening the curtains to a view full of greenery was so healing. The B&B has a tall, beautiful persimmon tree that really catches the eye, with many tourists stopping to take photos at its entrance. The name 'Jin Sheng You Ni' is also very meaningful. The courtyard felt like a home away from home, and the owner was wonderfully warm and easygoing, like an older sister. She helped us with our luggage and even drove us to a convenient pick-up spot. The B&B has its own kitchen, and the breakfast and lunch were both incredibly rich and delicious: ersi (rice noodles), sandwiches, hot milk, freshly squeezed orange juice, coffee lattes… What an unforgettable trip to Dali and Shaxi! It was so heartwarming, satisfying, and I'm grateful for everything I encountered! Thank you to the owner and staff of the B&B, and thank you to the kind fellow guests we met ❤️"

"One Cloud Inn: A heartwarming haven in Shaxi Old Town In Shaxi Old Town, ”One Cloud Inn” crafts the most touching warmth of a journey through its thoughtful details. On the day of our arrival, the proprietress arranged for a small yellow cart to pick us up specially from the village entrance. Traversing rustic paths interwoven with mud houses, chicken coops, and vegetable plots, even before checking in, we were already immersed in the authentic local vibe of Shaxi – after that, checking on the chickens and their eggs became a delightful little pastime during our three-day stay. Though small, this two-story inn with seven rooms harbors great wisdom. The entrance, adorned with various flowers and succulents, forms a natural picturesque backdrop for photos. Stepping into the courtyard, the blue sky, white clouds, lush bamboo, and the interplay with the screen wall and eaves, truly made me understand how fitting the name ”One Cloud” is. The double room was warmly decorated, complete with all necessary toiletries and skincare products. The convenience of the laundry room was an added bonus; the auntie would proactively handle clothes that we didn't have time to dry, a level of meticulous service comparable to a five-star hotel, allowing us to fully shed our travel fatigue. The tables and chairs in the corridor served as perfect spots for daydreaming; brewing a pot of tea, gazing at the distant mountains veiled in mist, and listening to the rustling bamboo leaves. The comfort of the wicker chairs even made me wish I could ”take them home”. The reading room on the second floor added a touch of scholarly elegance to the slow-paced time. What truly sets this inn apart is its ”human touch”. The proprietress provided a comprehensive, 'nanny-level' guide, making our itinerary brainless. On the Mid-Autumn Festival night, the owner invited all guests to celebrate at their other small courtyard, accompanied by batik, painting, and tea. Even the popular Shaxi photo-op spot lettering was their original creation. Strangers gathered, drinking and barbecuing, laughing and chatting under the moonlight. Any initial awkwardness melted away in the warmth. The breakfast rice noodles and fried eggs were a daily anticipation. And on the morning of our departure, the bread and milk prepared in advance by the proprietress, along with the fresh flower cakes handed to us by the owner waiting downstairs, became the most unforgettable finale to our trip. If I ever return to Shaxi, ”One Cloud Inn” will undoubtedly be my top choice for a reunion – it's more than just accommodation; it's a rare and precious warm haven during a journey."

"The interior design is beautifully done, yet maintaining the rustic architecture. The ambience allows one to feel fully relax and calm, especially sitting right next to the pond with koi fishes. Location is easily accessible from the old town. Staff will assist to fetch the luggages just outside the old town gate, just have to pre-arrange with the hotel. The noodles served during breakfast was delicious. Service level on the whole is good, room is comfortable and huge. This hotel is recommended for one who likes a stay in a beautiful traditional homestay."

The contemporary rebirth of a 78-year-old house, led by the SC design team. The renovation was led by the domestic avant-garde design team SC and took one year and three months of meticulous work. The original beam and column structure of the 78-year-old house was fully preserved. On the basis of the utmost respect for the soul of the ancient Bai ethnic architecture in Shaxi, the wabi-sabi aesthetic and Song Dynasty elements were perfectly integrated to create a hotel that combines vacation, leisure and culture. Design concept: A spatio-temporal poem of coexistence between the old and the new Restoration as it was - Every old beam and pillar has undergone traditional tung oil anti-corrosion treatment. The mottled rammed earth walls have been carefully preserved. Sunlight filters through the century-old wooden carved windows, casting flowing shadows on the ground. Coarse earthenware, hand-textured lacquer walls, and the asymmetrical beauty of imperfection create an "imperfect Zen" atmosphere. The Song Dynasty's finishing touch - the "blank space" layout in landscape paintings, collides with the Bai ethnic group's fire pit culture, creating a new context of Eastern aesthetics. Spatial highlights: Every corner tells a design story Sleeping under the main beam from 1978, the bed faces the direction of the Yu Jin Bridge. Open the window in the morning and see the green mountains. The dry landscape sand-patterned floor can change according to your mood. Sit in meditation under the maple tree, and watch the fish play in the pond in the courtyard. Inside the deliberately preserved half-collapsed earthen wall, a transparent glass tea room is embedded. On rainy days, watch the water drops fall between the ancient wall and modern materials.
