Just got back from Fanjingshan and I *have* to rave about Homyue Resort! Its location is absolutely superb – just a 10-minute drive from the Fanjingshan scenic area, and Yunshe Ancient Town is within easy walking distance. It was incredibly convenient to return to the hotel after a day of exploring. We booked a river view room, and opening the balcony door revealed beautiful views of the Taiping River. Waking up to the sound of birds in the morning was so much more pleasant than an alarm clock. The room was quite spacious, and the bathroom's wet/dry separation was impeccably clean – even I, who am quite particular about cleanliness, couldn't find a single fault. The breakfast spread was quite varied, with Western options like bread and coffee readily available. It certainly fueled us up perfectly for our hike up Fanjingshan. On evenings when we didn't feel like eating out, we ordered the sour soup fish at the hotel restaurant. It was incredibly authentic, and the staff were so thoughtful, even reminding us that we could request less spice. A special mention must go to their outdoor pool – it was incredibly refreshing to take a dip after hiking, and the water temperature was perfect. There's also a lounge area nearby where you can grab a drink. On our departure day, as we had an early bus to catch, the front desk kindly helped us arrange a taxi. The driver arrived punctually, and we weren't delayed in the slightest. The only minor drawback might be that it can get a bit busy on weekends, so you might need to go for breakfast a bit earlier. However, the overall experience genuinely exceeded our expectations. I'll definitely be staying here again on my next visit to Fanjingshan!
