The front desk staff were incredibly friendly and proactively offered suggestions for local attractions. The hotel is conveniently located right by the Songhua River, not far from the Jilin city government offices. In the evening, a stroll across the Songhua River Bridge offers beautiful night views. There's a boardwalk along the river, and they even have performances in front of the Catholic Church. This really is one of the top hotels in Jilin City.

My stay at the Shimao Manjin Hotel far exceeded my expectations, somewhat making up for not seeing the rime ice. Although it's been open for over ten years, the hotel rooms and lobby still maintain a five-star standard in terms of decor and quality of materials. Its location at the head of Jilin Bridge over the Songhua River in the city center is particularly stunning, with beautiful night views of both banks of the Songhua River. The hotel's service also deserves praise. When the phone in my room wasn't working, staff came to fix it immediately after I reported it. When I casually mentioned needing more bottled water, they promptly sent extra bottles. A particularly noteworthy incident happened during breakfast on check-out day: my cardholder slipped out of my down jacket pocket onto the dining chair without me noticing. The staff quickly found it and called me back, preventing a delay to my high-speed rail journey. Additionally, the hotel's restaurants are highly recommended. The steaks at the buffet, the hot pot restaurant, and the Japanese cuisine are all authentic and reasonably priced. I will definitely choose Shimao Manjin again on my next visit to Jilin to see the rime ice.

A huge thanks to Jing at the front desk – actually, the entire front desk team was fantastic and very friendly. The hotel lobby is absolutely stunning, it really impressed me. The location is excellent, and the facilities are great too. My only disappointment was the breakfast on the second floor. The decor felt so old and outdated, I almost thought I'd walked into a different establishment, like a guest house. The food itself was also very mediocre, which was a shame.

Right in the bustling city center, the location is incredibly convenient. The room was clean and tidy, with a wide, scenic view from the window. The bedding was soft and comfortable, making for a great night's sleep. The front desk staff were warm and thoughtful, and the room service was professional, handling issues promptly and effectively. The breakfast offered a rich variety of options. Overall, it's excellent value for money! Highly recommended for anyone traveling.

The room cleaning service is the worst I've ever seen. Don't they provide professional training before hiring staff? Speechless. The tissue box was empty, and housekeeping left me a pack to refill it myself. Fine, next time, just leave me a set of cleaning tools, and I'll clean the room myself. They didn't even clean the trash on the table; the room was still messy when I got back. And this is the five-star Marco Polo Hotel?

This hotel is definitely among the top ones in Jilin City. Everything from the lobby to the guest rooms and facilities is excellent! The front desk staff are welcoming and the cleanliness is impeccable. The breakfast is delicious. Most importantly, parking is convenient; the lot is huge and free. A great experience, I highly recommend it!

The five-star rating is for Zongzi (a staff member). They arranged for my luggage to arrive early, and the person who took over for me was excellent. On the downside, when checking out, there were a lot of staff members asking for good reviews. If a service is good, I'll naturally give one. For example, last time, they charged me 12 for the mini-bar and still asked for a good review, which I really didn't want to give. Otherwise, this time, I really felt like giving a 2-3 star rating. Some of the front desk staff I encountered this time were a bit lacking. It feels like the more I come, the less attention I receive. This time, I didn't get a room upgrade, though they did give me some fruit. If there's an empty room, they should definitely upgrade to improve the experience. For breakfast, if one portion is provided, it would be great if another could be offered for VIPs. None of the four of us went to eat. 1. There was an issue with the pillows in the room. I was too lazy to complain about it, but you can see in the video, there were hard lumps – I don't know what they were. If it weren't for Zongzi's excellent service, I would honestly consider giving a 2-3 star review. The Vianna next door is half your price, and their service was better when I went. But maybe it just depends on the person. 2. I overheard a department responsible for external car services – I don't know what it's called. This was a particularly unsatisfactory issue. They were complaining about a guest who parked to go upstairs to get something, saying that just because a guest spends a hundred yuan, they act like they're superior. To complain about guests when you're in the service industry – that's really not the standard you should have. Everyone has urgent matters sometimes. To speak ill of guests behind their backs, especially when you're supposed to be the best hotel in Jilin, is unacceptable. What's wrong with spending money? The hotel rooms aren't even worth this price; what you're paying for is the service. And then you talk behind our backs and nitpick.

Bell boy and those staffs helping with luggage were amazing. Front desk staff doesn’t make you feel welcoming, pulling a long face throughout, didn’t explain in details during check in example like how much was the deposit, breakfast etc. Room is kinda old, toilet bowl doesn’t have warmer function which I get it in every other hotel as cheap as 80yuan a night. Huge Breakfast selection , that’s the most enjoyable part of this hotel. Location wise, just next to hotel got a 24 mini mart, nothing else, need to cab further down for more foods and malls. Near to jilin train station, a 8-10 yuan cab ride away. Take note the hotel pick up fee is 200 yuan. Lastly, shoutout to the room cleaner, they have the most tiring works but super helpful and always greet with you big smile.

The location is fantastic, and the night view of Jilin riverside is stunning. It's just a short walk to the popular Instagram-worthy church, and the hotpot ingredients on the first floor of the hotel are very fresh. The housekeeping service (Xia Hui) was incredibly thoughtful; they quietly placed a humidifier in the room because the weather was dry.
