The President Lodge, located just 10 mins from O.R. Tambo airport, offers you an unexpected quiet environment. Reaching destinations in Johannesburg and surroundings is easy. The rooms are clean, well sized and fully equipped. The bed was very comfy, and the bath was huge. The pool might need a little more attention. Elaine and her team are very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was great. Definitely not the last visit.

Excellent location – literally minutes away from the OR Tambo airport. There is a shuttle but it is difficult to locate it. Maybe some signage would help? Once we located it we were however in the hotel in about 5 minutes. The shuttle is quite efficient. The rooms are good sized but the bathrooms are small in comparison. The room was cleaned regularly. The coffee / tea amenities were good. The room I stayed in was however dated, needs updating of the rooms. The heater in my room did not work. I just hope it works during winter. On meals, Breakfast had a good spread on the buffet, very nice. It is the best meal of the day. Lunch and Dinner was also quite good though not as good in variety unless you use the ala carte menu. I did not use the restaurants much outside the meal times or the bar so I am not able to rate these for now. The 3 stars are largely due to the staff. Staff are generally slow, have a poor attitude and look like they have been forced to work. This was especially at the reception and in the dining. You really need friendlier staff at the reception! A good number of times staff paid more attention to speaking with their colleagues than serving guests. I would be in the middle of something with a staff member but another staff member comes to them speaking in their language and you have to wait. It happened to me too often for comfort. Never seen this anywhere else I’ve travelled. A few times they were also speaking across the room. We however met some lovely staff – a gentleman called Trust and a mature lady who was doing our eggs at breakfast, I forgot her name. Do not expect too much but it is an excellent location if having an early flight.

Poor service started as I got out of the Uber and the guy at the door of the hotel just looked at me , with suitcases and all - did not offer any help. The rooms are the tiniest I’ve ever slept in, Reception did not advise that I had to connect to tv via app on phone. It didn’t help there were no phones in the rooms so had to call the hotel from my cellphone. Waited for an hour to get remote . Room was stuffy had to sleep with the window open. Next day I waited an hour and a half for an iron - eventually left in creasy clothes. Skipped on breakfast as restaurant was so full and no one to assist when I got there. Next day again had to call for an iron very early and it came after I had called reception twice using my cellphone .No room service, no kettle in room either!!!!! Regretted being at this hotel. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone

The Mint Hotel 84 gets the basics right with clean, comfortable rooms and friendly service staff. My room was a standard double with a queen bed, it had everything I needed including a desk, coffee maker, and good water pressure in the shower. The bed was fairly comfortable and the room was cleaned promptly every day. The breakfast spread in the dining area had a variety of options including cereals, toast, fruit, pastries, and eggs. The food was of average quality and freshness, nothing exceptional but sufficient to start the day. The service staff at the front desk and concierge were pleasant, helpful, and efficient whenever I had questions. They provided recommendations for restaurants and attractions in the area. The hotel has an outdoor pool and fitness centre, although I did not use the fitness centre during my stay. The hallways and public areas were well maintained and clean. Overall, the Mint Hotel 84 provides good, no-frills accommodations in a convenient location for exploring Katherine. The price point is fair for the quality you get, making it a solid choice for standard business or leisure travel.

OK, so let's start with the 'not-so-nice stuff'. Look, it is what it is. It's a 3-star (at best), hotel that was converted from apartments into a 'suite' experience hotel. It's cheap as chips, so with that in mind you're obviously not going to expect anything flash. The towels, while clean, could certainly do with being replaced. Overall, a fresh coat of paint would not hurt and the kettle was abysmal - we actually ordered our own kettle from 60/60 - the one in the room had not been descaled in...well, ever. It's very basic accommodation, the telephone in the room didn't work and the extractor above the stove was diabolical. Now, for the good stuff. The staff are AMAZING. So friendly and super helpful, check-in was breezy and even though we arrived a full 2 hours early, we hardly had to wait for our room to be ready. Aside from what I already mentioned, the room itself was SPOTLESS and that made up for the 'niggly' bits. The location is great, just a few minutes from the airport and close to the areas we had business in. Honestly, for what one pays for this place, there are no complaints. You can order from 60/60/ Uber Eats/Mr Delivery and there is a restaurant on site - although we didn't order from them, we left early and came back fairly late so it was just simpler to order in - and they delivered to the room. So all in, if you're not in Jozi for a holiday, then this place is kind of ideal. Internet was fast enough and complimentary and as we literally only used it as a base for our dealings in the big city, it was more than adequate.

So close to the airport this hotel 🏨 is perfect 😍 for getting over a long ✈️ flight from uk 🇬🇧 . No aircraft noise at all. Our first time in Africa. We stayed for 2 nights. Great complex next door with ****** 🎰. It’s a bit like a mini vegas. Lovely staff. Breakfast you pick from the menu and prepared to order. The pool 🏊‍♀️ isn’t open till April but the ducks 🦆 seemed to like it. Loads of restaurants to choose from in emperor’s complex. You can use walkway from hotel lobby to get there. We went to hooters one night and tribe (wagyu beef 🥩 amazing) the other. Would definitely stay here again.

The hotel is in a quiet area, which we liked. We appreciate the accommodation for an early check-in. The reception staff have been helpful with all of our queries: from going around to airport transfers. The room itself felt more like a home / apartment than a typical hotel room, which we loved. Having both a pool and tree house was a nice touch and added to the appeal of the place. Will prefer staying here on our next trip to Johannesburg.

Perfect place to stay at when visiting for recreational or business purposes. The area is super safe and as 24hr patrols present. The host is immaculate in her people skills, and she even assisted in jump-starting my vehicle when my battery went flat. I encourage you to book yourself in and feel at home. I have lived here for how many months? honestly the management Has a wrong way of treating their guest long stay or not.. I mean I was paying 650 everyday and never once did they remember to send a cleaner..don’t pay up by 10:41am and then cleaner comes after 10days and she isn’t supposed to clean?!
