During a last-minute business trip, I chose to stay at Holiday Inn Johor Bahru in the heart of the city due to its high ratings. I booked a Deluxe room in the hope of getting king-sized bed, but upon arrival at 9 pm, I was informed that all king-sized Deluxe rooms were fully booked. Although disappointed, the staff at the counter handled the situation with utmost friendliness and professionalism, providing excellent customer service.
My room was spacious and tidy, and the bathroom impressed me with its size and automatic curtain, offering a beautiful view of the city from the glass window. The hotel's facilities on Level 32, including the gym and steam room, were satisfying, and I enjoyed the stunning sunrise view.
The hotel's location is fantastic, with several shopping malls and eateries within walking distance. Breakfast was decent, but I hope for more variety in the future, especially with the nasi lemak sambal. The prawn noodles were a must-try.
However, my room faced the housekeeping lift, resulting in an unpleasant smell when the door was open. Additionally, the access card readers frequently ran out of battery, causing inconvenience during late-night returns.
Despite these issues, I believe Holiday Inn Johor Bahru is still worth considering for future business trips. I hope the hotel management addresses these minor concerns promptly, ensuring a smoother and more enjoyable stay for guests.
