Hotel berhampiran Jguire, Kailua-Kona

Got this room thru Diamond Resorts (now owned by Hilton). We checked on trip advisor and other on line sites and was confident it was a nice place. WRONG WRONG WRONG. We got here yesterday. Front desk said we got one of the nicest units (2 bedroom town house). When we got the room I was ready to turn around and walk out. It smelled musty, the furniture is OLD which is putting it nicely. I'm sure it is the original from when unit was built in 1980. The countertops and ceramic tile floors are newer as are the kitchen/bathroom cabinets. But it has a long way to go to get even close to the pictures I saw on line. The $10 day optional air conditioning is a floor unit with 6” plastic piping running across the floor and out a hole in the wall. And then the ants..........everywhere. On the kitchen counter, in the bathroom, in the sinks, on the nightstand, etc. The topper was the ants I work up to crawling on the bedspread next to my face. Opened my laptop which was on the nightstand and had ants crawling on the screen and keys. When I put my phone down on the dresser, nightstand, or any counter there were ants crawling on it when I picked the phone up. Since the office closed shortly after we got there yesterday I was down there this AM. They were quick in sending someone up to put an ant killer in various places around the unit. After 9 hours the ants are not as numerous but still around. Hopefully tomorrow they will be gone. Not a fan of killing ants crawling on my leg after a shower. (They must have been in the towels as I didn't see any in the 27”x27” tiny shower. Be sure if you are looking at Sea Village that you find out exactly what unit you get........they are not all like the pictures online.

When we check in, the front desk lady was being nice and friendly Unfo you missed our room for housekeeping the next day and we came back after 6pm, called the front desk to arrange it and was rejected at first as after 4pm. At the end a lady came by and changed the towels. We didn’t put any DNB sign on so it was entirely upto your handling, not upto our expectation for Marriott group in this regards

The Condo was in good condition, could’ve used new carpet and paint touch up but despite that very clean!!! The size the condo was perfect and we could see the ocean from the patio doors. The kitchen was well serviced with clean nice dishes. The washer/dryer was a fabulous feature we used!! The front desk staff were very helpful and friendly. Parking was including and easy to find. Condo was close to Kona Inn shopping and the bypass road used for Hwy 11. Would definitely recommend staying there!!! The guest book in the condo to write your own entry was so fun to read what other guests had done!!

We stayed here only two nights only with our 2 boys (it's all they had available), and it was a highlight of our trip to the Big Island of Hawaii! Not only is the view of the coast INCREDIBLE (and I mean truly breathtaking), but everything else is just heaven, including the warmest welcome from the owners Greg and Micheal, the wonderful breakfasts each morning, colorful grounds, the beautiful plantation decorated in old-style Hawaii, the comfortable rooms, the sweet and kind help (Hannah and Gabby), the fun outdoor lava rock showers with singing coqui frogs, the hot tub/steam room with ocean view.... I could go on. To just sit back in the porch rockers or lanai daybed to take in the view would be vacation enough... but there is so much to do on this island! Ka'awa Loa was the perfect place for us to end our vacation. When we return, we will undoubtedly stay here again and look forward to the pure magic of Hawaii and Ka'awa Loa. The hale's are beautiful and housekeeping services were excellent. There were bikes in several areas we could pick up and ride - loved that. The resort appears understaffed. We were surprised that very few of the employees we saw were Hawaiian. Check in was really terrible. We were basically handed the keys and told that our luggage could be found in our room. We were not told anything about the resort and had to ask for a map. It was not the best start for a luxury resort. Breakfast was included in our stay, but we were not told where we could go or how it works. The coffee bar ran out of coffee every morning around 7 typically with a number of people waiting - seems like they might be able to anticipate this. We were told each time that it would be a 15-to-20-minute wait. The restaurants definitely seemed understaffed. The bar service at the pool and beach also appeared understaffed as service was slow. The Paniolo dinner at $250 per person for a buffet was ridiculously expensive. Definitely would not do that again. After a few days our group started having dinner at the Four Seasons, which had more varied items, slightly better pricing and better service overall. We also saw other Kona Village guests dining at the Four Seasons each time we were there. The interesting thing that I noticed today as I was reading reviews it that guests from October 2023 are reporting the same issues that we observed. I would have hoped that when management saw that the check-in is very lack luster, that would have changed already. One of the absolutely fantastic highlights was a tour with Kumu from the cultural center. She knows so much about the history of the resort. She clearly loves it, both the past history and has high hopes for the future. If you go, please do not miss going to the cultural center. I would go back only after thoroughly checking reviews to make sure the service issues are resolved.

酒店沒有牆壁沒有木板，衹是用防蚊沙網圍起來的，床四周有布簾。1月份還是有點冷。洗澡是户外的，布簾，也是有點冷，不太方便。森林空氣好，蟲鳴好聽。早餐很簡單，麪包，煮雞蛋，一點水果。有點吃不喜歡吃不飽。新奇感挺好的，有點像露營的感覺。帶孩子不要來，孩子害怕，而且這裏人睡得早要求很安靜。孩子們很無聊，還要保持安靜。
