What a stunning hotel, the grounds and the aesthetic are absolutely 100% on point, but it feels a little more style over substance. The buffet is average to say the least, the choices are vast but nothing ever really stands out as being great. Breakfast is quite often poor with large queues if you arrive around 9:45/10am. We haven't been for lunch as the snack bar and beach bar have far better offerings, gyros has been a near daily meal. The evening buffet is just as average as breakfast and we would highly recommend booking the a la carte restaurants for some decent evening meals. We have read complaints about not being able to book these but we've used the app and had no issues. Drinks are free flowing throughout the hotel and it's grounds with several places to go. The lobby bar can get crowded of an evening when there is 'entertainment' on, so we've found ourselves down at the beach bar which is open until midnight and with a far more relaxing vibe. Our biggest criticism is that you can't get a decent frozen drink, eg pina colada or daiquiri as the bars don't have blenders to make them properly, we resorted to drinking the kids slushies with rum! Hotel 'entertainment' is also a bit lacking. We've heard some dreadful Tina Turner and the Lion King, but it's been nothing to write home about. A personal highlight has been the Cellist playing in the lobby throughout the day, very calming, the guitarist also pumped out a few tunes which we enjoyed. There appear to be various bits of forced fun around the main pool area throughout the day which cheapens the 5* aspects of the hotel. We booked a deluxe swim up room and what a great decision it turned out to be. The room is huge with a sofa area, coffee making facilities and a well stocked mini bar of soft drinks (well stocked if they decide to clean your room and re fill it!) The bathroom is a bit small but the rainfall shower is great and 2 person sink is sizeable, but doesn't drain very well at all. The swim up pool has been the absolute highlight of our trip, pay the extra, it's so worth it but make sure you get one facing the mountains as the swim up suites facing the beach are mostly shaded come lunch time! We would find ourselves on the sun loungers by our pool until 7pm some nights as it was still bright and hot. The rooms could do with some usb charging points, plenty of spare plug sockets however. The staff are pleasant enough but overworked, you can see they are struggling to keep up with the hotels demands. You can wait a while to be served drinks in the main bar and the wait staff at all bars and restaurants struggle to get back round to take any further drinks orders. The team on reception have been helpful whenever we have needed something, they can book you a taxi straight away and it will be outside within a few minutes. If you don't like kids then this isn't the place for you. Corridors, lobby, pool, beach and restaurants, kids, screaming all day and all night. We wish we
