Cape Kanapitsa Hotel & Suites

Family holiday with our grown daughter. What a lovely holiday we had in Skiathos. This hotel experience was one of the best we’ve ever had. Views beautiful, staff at the hotel absolutely lovely and so, so friendly. Especially Anna, Mario and Ardit. Miss you so much!! Thank you for making our holiday experience so wonderful. Hotel views amazing, pool area serene. Cocktails to die for!! Breakfast really delicious and wonderful selection. Beds comfortable. Thank you so much. And will see you all again very soon.

Bumped into the hotel whilst looking for a lunch location. Delighted to find an empty pool side restaurant with amazing views across the bay. Given the quality/cost of the food and the charming service we could not understand why this lovely offering was so lightly used. We had lunch then stayed to use the pool and sun beds. Would strongly recommend this location for food and a relaxing day around the pool, that is clearly open no to non residents.

First the good points A) All rooms have a balcony and a beautiful view across the bay B) Maya, on reception was very pleasant and very helpful with all queries. C) Our room was clean with towels replaced daily.Bed linen sparkling white. D) The pool was perfectly clean. Beach towels available on request. Now the bad points A) There was no information in the room on how to programme the safe, the number to dial reception, any hotel info, the TV progammes ( which were totally Greek with one German and one Austrian channel) B) The hotel has 4 floors. The lift was out of order when we arrived and still the same when we left. C)The single breakfast room/ snack bar is on the ground floor next to the pool D) The breakfast was a help yourself buffet, the same every morning for 14 days. E) The plates were cold and the cooked food was cold. F) The toaster was a standard domestic 2 slot machine. The bread was a continental baguette type sliced vertically so the rounds were small. The only sure way of getting them out of the toaster was to upend it. After about 10 days and a request, standard toasting bread was produced. G) The breakfast attendant was never interested and had to be asked when anything needed replenishing. H) The fruit juice was weak and tasted like it had been made from powder. I) The pool bar should have been open until 9pm. After 3 days it closed at 5pm the same as did the snack bar. The hotel was dead after 5pm. When it was open the bar ran out of draught beer. It was never replenished. J)No kettle in the room. If you wanted one you had to ask Maya for it. Same for cups. Same for hair drier. Buy your own coffee. K) The tap water was undrinkable even when boiled. No info. on that in the room either. L)Air Con. wasn’t working. All in all a run-down hotel working on a tight budget and not worth the money. Another two days and I would have joined the tunnelling committee.

Skiathos is a beautiful island and this hotel is in a great location with the most beautiful views and lovely beaches and walks on the doorstep. However, the hotel could definitely be improved, specifically by changing the breakfast staff. They can only be described as rude and unpleasant and made no effort to be welcoming. The hot food was cold and unappetising and a lot of other options frequently ran out and when mentioned to the staff, were told they were 'done' and a shrug. And this was at the beginning of breakfast service. This is our fifth visit to skiathos and there are far better hotels to choose from at a far better price

Rooms shown was not like the 3 rooms we booked, no kettle, hairdryer collapsed, air conditioner didn’t work, no hot water, corridors smelt like cats wee. Breakfast wasn’t worth walking to, all food. Cold, 1 double toaster for all to queue for, staff very rude, apart from Mya on reception she was very friendly and helpful

On arrival late afternoon the room we were took to seemed ok. Quite large, bathroom to side. Closer inspection showed many bits had hadn’t been finished to a decent standard. Holes in bathroom walls where something else had been before, the flooring in bathroom had some dubious stains. Shower and mirror not properly attached to the walls. The fridge was tiny, no hairdryer as stated. Jet2 page when booking states bathrobe, slipper and kettle. Pics on their page definitely wasn’t the type of room we had. We had to ask for a kettle and hairdryer, no offer of cups etc so got from breakfast area. Vile drain smell from the bathroom daily which even smelt into the bedroom area. Air con only worked if patio doors open by 5 inch, we got bit to death every night by mosquitoes clearly getting through the netting. The bottom corridor we were off was very noisy from 7.30am with a man constantly coughing and very loudly talking to the cleaners. Literally sounded like they were outside our door. Sounded like bags of laundry been dragged up and down corridor. The breakfast was pretty poor, would have been good if hot, the fruit juice had been diluted down so much. No interaction with guests apart from asking room numbers. The tables outside had old food in the gaps, floor outside had fag ends and tree bits (clearly wasn’t even swept daily). The view was amazing and the bed was comfy and if effort put in to tidying and doing some basic diy and finishing off you could have passed as a boutique hotel.

The hotel is in the most fantastic setting between Kanapitsa Beach and Tzaneria Beach. Brilliant location and easy to get to the buses on the main road and the supermarket down the road. The views are endless, the swimming pools are great and the rooms comfortable and clean. But there are some things that the hotel owners could do a million times better and increase their overall rating substantially. Firstly, the breakfast leaves much to be desired. We were there for 5 days and the breakfast menu was exactly the same every day with some of the things just being brought out on the same plates as the day before. The food is unappetising and presented in a slap dash manor. Secondly, the bar is not well stocked. We asked for an aperol spritz and there was no processo. We asked for a gin and tonic and there was no tonic. On day 3 of our holiday they ran out of draught beer 🥴 Thirdly, they are missing out on a massive income opportunity by closing the kitchen at 5pm every day. People are coming back to the hotel from a long hot day at the beach and want to sit on the beautiful deck of the hotel drinking a sundowner and eating dinner. Instead, they have to go out again as the bar is poorly stocked and no food is available. Huge opportunity lost. Don’t get me wrong, we had a great stay but would have had an even greater stay if getting food and drink at the end of a long day would have been easier.

A nice but sleepy Hotel. Has lot of potential but some of the staff needs to do something else. The bartender in the evening was totally the wrong person for such a job! Such a pity. Perhaps COVID-period makes it even worse. Skiathos is such a nice place!

Great views and clean pools but the hotel itself needs updating. The reception staff speaks English - yes, but only very limited English. They were friendly, though, as was all the other staff. The room and especially the bathroom floors were really, really cold. There were no instructions on how to use the room safe. You had to ask the reception for a hairdryer. Our patio door and the corridor door were both once left unlocked after cleaning the room!!! It took ages for the floors to dry and it felt pretty damp elsewhere as well. Breakfast was exactly the simple same every morning. There was no chef yet. The distance to the nearest bus stop was a decent half a kilometer and some 400 meters to the nearest 'Super'market. This hotel is definitely not suitable for anyone with restricted mobility.
