An excellent hotel. The service was also excellent, and the food for both breakfast and dinner was superb. A truly wonderful, high-quality Japanese hotel.

The hotel is quiet and clean with nice Onsen (natural hot spring baths). The location is near the train station but not near enough to hear the trains. The dinner and breakfast were both good. The staff was very friendly and provided great service. It was raining (pouring actually) on us prior to our arrival and they dried our shoes, dried our umbrellas, and wiped us off when we walked in. We're definitely staying there again only for longer next time.

It was located just across the roadfrom the Kanazwa JR station that also housed a mall, airport transfers and loads of good food. The place was larger than I expected but provided excellent service and daily breakfasts (noy buffet-style) in their second floor restaurant. A sign of how good service was - it was a little drizzly when we left but we said no to the offer of an umbrella as the station was less than 5 min away (and it was a very light drizzle). The lady accompanied us to the station just so she cd take the umbrellas back from us! The onsen was nice but I didn't hv time to try out any other facilities.

Great hotel with great hospitality! The hotel is conveniently located, very close to Kanazawa station. The dinner and breakfast were also delicious.

It is not recommended to stay in an old family hotel compared to professional hotels. It feels casual and scrawled. There is no response at the door. The lobby is small and depressing. The old carpets are dirty and not taken care of well. The hygiene is OK. The room is not exquisite. The air-conditioning and sound. Most importantly, both meals at the Ryotei Hotel are . The seasoning is simple and tasteless, just boiled with sugar. 1800 yuan for two meals per person is very, very not worth the 1500 yuan for Kyoritsu Group’s Jiayun. The service and meal quality are much better than this. The private room on the first floor for dinner smells of oily smoke. The order of the dishes is confusing. The breakfast lady works The staff took care of shoes and came to serve food. Based on my poor impression of the hotel, I didn't experience the hot springs. Now I'm staying at Sai no Ting. It's clean, tidy and professional. Kanazawa Tea House can't be compared to the hotel. The staff are older but very responsible, but the management is not good.

Two or three minutes away from Kanazawa Station, the service is very authentic, Japanese-style hospitality, the room is a typical hot spring hotel, the breakfast is also very rich, comfortable bath and rest, very good vacation.

Service: Authentic Japanese style hotel. Not only the appearance, but the service is also quite good. It is the appearance of a Japanese hotel in my impression. Especially the Japanese grandma at dinner time, she is really kind. There is a feeling of elders in the family. Spent three very happy days here. Location: Right next to Kanazawa Station. It's great to have such a good hotel in such a good location. Facilities: Although the building has a history of a hundred years. But there is no problem with the bathroom equipment at all. The room didn't feel dated at all either. Meals: I really don't know how else to describe it other than fantastic. The food is very good every day. I feel overweight.

Großartiges Erlebnis! Schon beim Eintreten ist alles anders. Die Höflichkeit und Hilfe, leider schlechte Sprachkenntnisse, aber dafür rundum Service - bis aufs Zimmer gebracht - Koffer waren schon dort, dann Erklärung und Tee serviert. Die Futons kamen dann erst während unseres Abendessens in den Raum. Wir hatten 2 Zimmer, ein Bad und eine Toilette (natürlich mit Toilettenslippers). Das Abendessen war ein kulinarisches Erlebnis. Dies wurde uns im Séparée serviert. Ähnlich war es mit dem Frühstück - dies allerdings in einem öffentlichen Raum. Vorher haben wir das öffentliche Bad im Hotel genossen und im heißen Pool einige Zeit entspannt. Also wirklich eine besondere Welt!

Wonderful hotel with friendly staff and good food. They took our dietary requirements into account and made an 8 course vegan dinner for us, it was fantastic, the best food we had during our Japan trip! Also, the japanese style the room was beautiful!

Very nice staff but definitely not a four star experience. It’s a bit of a strange hybrid between a chain hotel and a ryokan missing both the efficiencies of the former and the charm of the latter. The restaurant is quite good and tries hard to be accommodating but struggles to deal with more Western appetites. The rooms are incredibly clean and well serviced but quite lacking in updated amenities. Location is decent near the train station but a little removed from tourist attractions.

A superb stay in a modern ryokan. All the traditional service and dining you would hope for, a stone’s throw from the station. The staff were superb - they even clocked our sizes on check-in so my husband’s yukata in the room was 3XL!! Fabulous kaiseki meal and large breakfast. Fresh white bedding. Loved it all!!!

Having never stayed at a ryokan, a traditional Japanese inn, this was an experience that we both thoroughly enjoyed. The Kanazawa Chaya is located a very short 3 min walk from the JR Kanazawa railway station and is easy to find. The Higashichaya Old Town, Kenrokuen Garden, and Omicho Market are also within easy walking distance. The entrance is through a small, landscaped portico area, which makes a perfect visual and mental separation from the streets outside. The lobby is spacious and equally tranquil. The staff were very helpful in explaining (in basic English) the various amenities of the hotel and assisting us through the check-in process. Our room was very spacious, with tatami flooring, sliding shoji paper doors, a delightful tokonoma, and a reasonable western-style bathroom. The low table at the centre of the room, replaced with a futon every night. We were provided a yukata set, comprising a yukata, yukata jacket, obi (belt), and socks. For the uninitiated these traditional garments function as a bathrobe, and loungewear – they can be worn to the onsen, dinner and breakfast, and even to bed as sleepwear. Our stay usually included an elaborate multi-course dinner, kaiseki ryori (Japanese haute cuisine), featuring local and seasonal specialities, and a traditional breakfast in the morning. Alcohol is not included but added to your bill. You will need to confirm the time for dinner and breakfast the day before your meal. We both enjoyed the use of the hotel’s onsen, another first for my wife, it was so refreshing after each day of sightseeing in the area. I would wholeheartedly recommend this ryokan experience to anyone travelling through Japan – we both felt lie treasured guests.
