The Grand Kandyan

The bed was comfy. The view was amazing. The staff were very friendly. The location is very close to downtown but up a hill so very very quiet. The food is good, EXCEPT the mutton biryani. Don't order the Mutton Biryani it was just tough fatty meat that you couldn't chew unless you want to feel like you're chewing on an old piece of gum.

酒店先説好的：酒店的風景無敵好，在Roof可以俯瞰Kandy（圖1&2）；早餐也還不錯，每人一個set，我選的Sri Lanka（圖3） 再來，有很嚴重的問題： 首先，預訂的時候看清楚，“可住1人”，到店後如果有第二個人，補20USD 其次，Lobby的reception對中國人不是很友好，笑臉相應走上來，問“Are you Japanese？”我們説“No, we are Chinese.” 然後他扭頭走了… 再有，房間沒有很乾凈，看圖4的床單 最重要的，如果你對黴味很敏感，真的不要定！！！房間一開門全是黴味，看下圖5的沙發就知道了；跟前台反饋後，他們的解決方案是噴空氣清新劑…

酒店乾淨，還不錯，需要自己備拖鞋和牙刷牙膏，服務也是不錯的。

Excellent location and views. Warm welcome and reception. Very pleasant lobby with plenty of luxurious sitting areas. Check-in was swiftly done while sitting on the comfortable chair having the welcome fresh juice and then tea. The room is very spacious, and I guess it was an upgrade as it was very big with two sitting areas and even a dining table. Comfort room is well equipped for handicapped. View from the room , roof, or restaurant were awesome. Plenty TV channels in all languages. All essential room amenities are available. Breakfast and dinner were buffet that satisfy all tastes. The dynamic director; Mr Hilary, is continuously roaming around and appears from everywhere ensuring the comfort and satisfaction of all guests. I can't thank him enough for all the help he offered during my stay. Really, I would have loved to extend my stay in the hotel longer. And, it really made competition and comparison with other hotels difficult because of the very high standards offered. We had the chance to see several weddings during our stay . Check out was easy, and luckily, the bell boy found forgotten items which he brought to our car. Definitely, that memory will last long time . I wish I could be able to come back and just spend my vacation in the hotel.

This is our favourite hotel in the world. We are escaping cold weather in Geneva Switzerland and spending three months here. We enjoy the gym and the pool every day. Plus the food is excellent, the staff are friendly and efficient and we are very comfortable. Clint in room service is a wonderful guy, Hilary is a great guy as are all of the fellows at the gym and pool. Sumith makes a new animal with only two towels every day. I am adding a few photos with him and today he made a turtle.

We have had the pleasure to stay at this very impressive hotel for the last five days sadly leaving tomorrow. Everything about our stay was perfect from the warm welcome we received and the welcome drink. First impressions of entering the hotel was wow very grand and we have been treated like royalty throughout our stay. The hotel is grand just like the name suggests and the staff from breakfast to dinner was perfect. Also the barmen was very professional we wanted for nothing. The food here is outstanding everyday something different to try always hot and fresh. The swimming pool was big and the guys working around the pool was great always looking around to help, the barmen on the rooftop was great and fun to be around. I am not a good swimmer and a man from the team noticed this and was teaching me how to do better and after a while I was swimming more confidently, he took me into the gym and helped me with stretching exercises..thank you so much. Our room was perfect lovely big bed great shower and toiletries, every day the room guy would come and make it perfect again. The views from our balcony was breathtaking looking over Kandy and the town & Forest. Before we arrived we looked on trip advisor and noticed a tuk tuk man called jenudeen mentioned a lot so we asked for him to do some trips. Jenudeen went above and beyond to help us get the best from Kandy, he picked us up at the Kandyan promptly every time we did a trip with him. He is very knowledgeable about Kandy and we not only did trips he also took us for shopping and to exchange money in town also to the local market .. he even got us ice cream ☺️ thank you jenudeen and everyone at the grand kandyan who gave us an experience we will never forget. Its a large hotel on top of a hill with great views and has several large function rooms that cater for big events and weddings, there are also a lot of bus tours use the hotel. The view from the roof pool and bar its lovely and our room was large with the same great view but could do with some updating. The breakfast and dinner buffet selection was diverse and the food tasted great, one of our best in Sri Lanka. If you like bling you will love this hotel, you cant really walk anywhere from here, its either a car or Tuk-Tuk ride.
