Hotel berhampiran Våxnäsparken, Karlstad

The location of this hotel is good, quite in the center and close to the gallery of Lars Lerins (Sandgrund). It is always good when the staff is certain about which location is best to park in, I would urge the hotel administration to get a deal with on of the parking companies nearby. The interior of the hotel could be nicer, both when it comes to furnishing and painting of the wall (loose skirting board should be attached). Karlstad is the home of the Swedish roastery 'Löfbergs Lila', that should be celebrated when breakfast is served. The hotel has nice staff, cleanliness was good, elevator in place.

Great breakfast and comfortable room with a very professional staff that were accomodating to my needs. A lot of variety options for the breakfast, all in all standard as such but the setting is extra cozy and warm in such a lovely restaurant. My room was small and cheap but this was not my experience when I arrived. Well, the size was as advertised but the setting was exceptional with an incredibly comfortable bed and a huge pillow of superb quality. I also requested extra pillows and more blankets, though the room was warm enough upon arriving, I wanted that extra for my own comfort and the staff took care of it immediately without any fuss. It was one of the best hotel rooms I've had (and bed) and that's comparing it to rooms at the Harbour Hotel in Boston, MA & The *****, in Vegas. The room was clean at arrival and (per request by sign) clean after night one to a high standard.

Overall a below average experience. We had 4 rooms traveling af families. Overall the hotel seemed overhelmed by high season Restaurant was a mess and was placed in a conference room. We came to the restaurant at 19:00 with a booking for 10. We was the last guest to order food. the experience of setting in a conference room was clear. After seeing the buffet we decided to order a la carte. We order from the menu with no extra request and 4 of them kids menus. It took mere than 1 hour for the food to come… BUT 3 courses missing!! Another wait and we was not able to eat at the same time. The chef was polite and was given a apology and it seemed like they where trying. After the meal we explained our disapointment to the wait staff and some persistent explaining. We was offered a discount. Next time we eat in the city. Morningbuffet was a mystery! Large buffet but overall not inspiring and alot of readymade options. One thing we simply dont understand according to Scandic profile of beeing healthy and nutritious for kids…. Serving candy and Oreo’s for kidsbuffet ?? Rooms was fine but when you booked for 4 persons it gives a not ready feeling when the bunkbeds needed to be prepared. VERY NOISY! Alot of noise from the street from loud cars and the floor above us was noisy from foodsteps.

Abbiamo gradito soprattutto il fatto che la stanza familiare che abbiamo richiesto fossero in effetti 2 ampie stanze doppie comunicanti tra loro attraverso una porta. Quindi ci siamo trovati 2 bagni completi al posto dell'unico bagno solitamente incluso nelle stanze familiari. Stanze pulite, letti comodi, struttura nuovissima, addetti alla reception (in effetti, i dipendenti del minimarket annesso al benzinaio) molto disponibili. Unico piccolo neo la colazione: contesto piuttosto caotico - ci fanno colazione i numerosi viaggiatori che si fermano, essendo hotel, ristorante e benzinaio sulla strada che unisce Stoccolma ad Oslo - e scarso aiuto da parte degli addetti, come non esattamente ampia è la scelta di cibi e bevande.
