Ulasan Tiancheng International Youth Hostel (Kashgar Ancient City Branch)

The hostel accepts foreigners. The staff was very friendly and helped me to find a place which issues permits for Tashkurgan. They quickly respond to WeChat messages and are well informed about the things that an ordinary backpacker might need. The hostel itself has very comfortable beds, hot water and shampoo. My stay was very nice, and I totally recommend it.

The girl on the front desk is helpful using her phone translator, there’s beer in the fridge (Wusu is the strongest but not very strong), the 4-bed room has bathroom and curtains for the beds for privacy. Nice to hear the music from below reaching the room. Great to be in Kashgar for the brilliant Sunday Grand Bazaar livestock and food market, and for the unadorned serene Id Kar main mosque (one of 24,300 mosques in Xinjiang), the mausoleum (walk up the long side road and see it from the back first: it’s beautiful there, there’s no one else and the cemetery is also amazing). The old city isn’t so special but there is a separate part over the main road rather is much less touristy and more appealing. There’s also this beautiful cafe there shown on the last three photos here, with loads of coffees, playing Astrid Gilberto, and with beautiful features he chose to add to the original old-city building.

Lovely place to talk to other travellers. Perfect for individual travellers.

Right in the center of old town very nice people convenient location. There is kitchen available Wi-Fi available. Social area is very nice as well. Daily activities are beautiful. I highly recommend this place.

Bathroom cleanliness could be better but overall lovely hostel. The location couldn’t be more perfect and the staff are very friendly! They also have lots of activities available. The rooftop has beautiful views.

Very central hostel. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. The staff was very nice and they offer a lot of group activities! A very nice place to meet other travelers!

Fairly big hostel some shared rooms have their own bathrooms (bring your own TP). Very clean— breakfast and dessert (at night) provided. English is a challenge so don’t expect info about sightseeing, restaurants, transport, etc. Location is great—right in the middle of the renovated ancient city. Lots of bars and restos nearby. Good overnight stay.

The location of the hostel is awesome! The dorms are okay, but at least my dorm was unorganized and not so clean. You can hear sound from the street quite well. The staff was kinda helpful, but when I asked about tours they just said they didn’t offer any. Maybe you could at least suggest a tour operator and not just say ”no”? They were also doing some painting and the paint was all over the staircase. The rooftop could be really nice, but it was also under construction.

Pretty nice hostel. They accept foreigners and (at least some of the personnel) speak some english. It may be kinda tricky to get there if you can't read chinese, better to download the photo of the front door.

The hostel sits at a very good location in the old town. For foreigners be aware that they will ask you to pay 25% extra at the desk for administration.

Great place! Friendly and helpful staff. I mostly spoke with Wei, as he speaks English. Very helpful, especially a day when I left the hostel, and I unexpectedly had to return! I was already checked in when I arrived at 10:30 pm and got the same room. Super easy! 6-person dorm even has toilet facility in the room! Very convenient! Surprisingly I didn't take many photos of the place - just the roof top view 😹 Oh yeah, there is a roof top! ;) with a pool table.
