We had a fantastic weeks holiday at this hotel and some of the things about it was spectacular. It just seems a shame that some of the aspects of the hotel are in such a run down unloved condition. I don't think I would've written this review if they didn't know that this was a chain rather than a family run hotel, but I think it would be good to feedback some of the thoughts that we had, as had I read this I would have made decisions based on this kind of review and I think feedback is hopefully helpful for management of the hotel. Firstly, we had a deluxe bungalow which was on the top floor and little bit of a walk. It was nice to be so far away from busier areas like the road or the pool. Absolutely spectacular uninterrupted view, couldn't fault the room, beds were very comfortable but if I chose again I would've much prefer to have a room with a balcony and for some people, the music coming from La Grotta bar below might be very disruptive, so bear these facts in mind. Alongside the fact that it the lift didn't work half the time and when it does it only fits 2 so there is a queue, so when you've already tackled the many steps from the road to reception and then you've got another 6 flights to the top it might not be ideal for people who aren't fit or struggle with the heat. The staff were great, especially Elena on reception who was very sparkly and super helpful. We were on a breakfast-only basis but we did try the dinner one evening for €15 which considering how expensive some of the restaurants in town are this was a bargain, but my partner is a vegan and there was very little for him so we didn't do it again. Breakfast was okay, loved the honeycomb tray and the fresh omelettes but would've preferred to have more fresh fruit rather than tinned. It was annoying getting told off for filling my water bottle up from the water jug because this means that everybody is forced to use single plastic cups which were strewn all over the site. Litter was an issue and sustainability doesn't seem to be on the menu here (or most of Corfu to be honest). The biggest issue that we had was actually the condition of the hotel. It just seems such a shame because it could be such an incredible place but it seems so unloved. Lots of broken sunbeds that people were fighting over and piles of broken sunbeds in corners. Broken water fountain and empty patches of dirt what could have been filled with lovely flowers. There were some but quite sparse. There were safety issues with quite a lot of the glass balconies and handrails being very wobbly and unsafe. There are two entrances to the hotel. One is the road that cars and service lorries drive up which brings you directly onto a very busy part of the road or some very steep pedestrian steps down the middle. This area was particularly in disrepair. There was so much litter everywhere, so many broken or half finished steps and a terrible smell. It just puzzles me why something hasn't been made
