Die beste Unterkunft in Thailand bisher, mega sauber (!), Hotelstandard zu günstigen Preisen, liebe Besitzer und Personal, ruhige und doch zentrale Lage, haben um eine Nacht verlängert - danach waren sie leider schon ausgebucht :‘)

We stayed at The Leaf Ocenside as a quarantine hotel due to covid-19. The service from Puran and his team was outstanding! We would definately consider going back just for the service... It is not a new hotel, and a lot of the facilities could use an upgrade. But the athmosphere was great.

Was so impressed with this hotel 5 years ago that we returned again in October 2023 and they gave us the same room we occupied before. This was a water pool access room which is a must if you stay here. The rooms are large with a massive bed and has all the facilities you could wish for. Although we did no eat our main meals in the Italian restaurant we had breakfast which covers all variety of foods and freshly cooked eggs and bacon on request. All the staff are very pleasant and helpful. A particular mention to Tounchai the barman who served us daily at the pool bar during Happy hour with delicious cocktails. Also to the maid (sorry can't remember her name) who cleaned our room 1123 and left wonderful creations on our bed. The hotel is situated within 5 minutes walk from the beach and close to many bars and restaurants. Bang Niang Market which is 2 mins walk is open every Mon, Weds, Thur and Sat which does street food and has many stalls. The Waters is highly recommended.

This is 2nd time to stay at Le Meridien Khao Lak and always good to be back. Thank you so much to upgrade my room to deluxe room 1215 that is closed to the beach. The room is very tidy and clean. Both Receptionist and Bellman are helpful and friendly. Especially, Khun Ing at The Nest restaurant, she comes to talk and recommends us great foods for dinner. Nous avons séjourné pour la 2ème fois dans ce resort qui est un véritable paradis pour les enfants. Nous avions nos 2 pts enfants (8 et 10 ans) avec nous et à leur arrivée dans la chambre ils ont trouvé celle-ci très ”classe” (il y avait un toboggan pour descendre du lit superposé en haut). C'est un resort tout à fait adapté pour les familles avec des enfants, beaucoup de jeux aquatiques, des piscines leur sont réservées. Nous avions une gde chambre pour nous 4 avec une cloison coulissante pour avoir un peu d'intimité. Le buffet du petit déjeuner est très varié et chacun trouve de quoi se régaler aussi bien en nourriture asiatique qu'internationale. Le personnel est adorable et très serviable. L'hôtel est très bien situé, à 10 mn à pied de la rue très commerçante avec beaucoup de restaurants. Nous avions réservé une navette privée pour les transferts depuis et vers l'aéroport de Phuket, tout s'est très bien passé. A la fin de la semaine, nos petits enfants nous ont demandé pourquoi nous ne restions pas une 2ème semaine, c'est dire s'ils ont aimé. Nous y retournerons avec plaisir une 3ème fois .

Very good service staff,comfortable rooms, fully equipped gym. Breakfast is a la carte, nothing special. The beach in front of the hotel is very beautiful, clean, able to swim.

We travelled with 3 families (6 adults and 4 kids 8-12) and stayed for 2 weeks. This was our second visit to Mai Khao Lak and we were equally as happy. Stayed in the top section (pool access jacuzzi suite). Modern, clean room with a separate living room, which doubles as a kid's room. Walk off the balcony into private spa area which joins massive swimming pool. There are no shortage of wet options with 5 pools from the beachfront area to the peaceful adults only pool area at the top of the resort. Loads of choices for bars and food. The new Thai restaurant by the beach is very comfortable with great food. At the kids pool area there is another kitchen and bar with great lunch options. The staff are always friendly and helpful. There is an hourly free shuttle bus from reception to town which is convenient, otherwise walk to the beachfront and you can get a tuk tuk (if you order through reception it will cost more!). Breakfast buffet is easy to navigate, with a huge selection of coffee / tea, fresh fruits / yoghurts, cooked food, cereal, pastries, cakes and sweets, loads of bread choices and cold cuts & cheeses. This was a big highlight for the kids and great way for us to all gather and catch up to start the day together. The beach and ocean are very nice, and the many options of beachfront bars, restaurants, laundry services and massage places are all within a 1-5 minute walk from the resort. We visited most of these during our stay and never had a bad experience. Kids club is awesome with plenty of fun and varied activities to engage the kids. If I had to fault something - the internet inside our room was poor, but in most other areas of the resort it was fine. So the 2 big questions... would we go back (a third time)? YES! and would we recommend it to friends? YES! Thanks to everyone at Mai Khao Lak for another memorable experience! See you next time!

We stayed here over a holiday weekend at the beginning of low season so the place was at maybe 35% capacity. The hotel is ideally located in an area renowned for surfing. The hotel provides board rentals and lessons at reasonable cost. We booked at the cheapest available rate and got a room at the back of the complex, which is a cluster of spartan -looking apartment blocks. The rooms were ok - there is a small sofa and a balcony with wood table and a pair of chairs. There's a window that looks out of the bathroom into the main room. The pool is nice, big and clean but needs some cosmetic maintenance. The staff are friendly enough and the beach restaurant is quite good. The beach is long with lots of sandy shallows and there is a beautiful cape a couple kilometers walk up the beach. I live in Phuket but somehow the sunsets are more stunning here. On the downside, the breakfast buffet was unremarkable, and the coffee was tasteless. We skipped it on the second morning. We spent a lot of time walking from our room through other room blocks due to its location, so if I were to stay here again (I probably would because of the location) I would book a room much closer to the beach - and bring my own coffeemaker. Due to it's layout and capacity I don't think I'd want to stay there during high season but in low season it was fairly quiet and quite nice.

We spent 10 nights at JW Marriott Khao Lak for our honeymoon and it was absolutely perfect for our needs! An utterly beautiful hotel with clean rooms and facilities and the kindest, most helpful staff I've ever come across in a hotel. Our room was spacious and beautiful, with direct access to the 2.4km pool - this was a great feature and it felt like we had a bit of private pool whilst being able to swim all the way to the main pool. The pool also adds to the feeling that you're in a village community rather than a commercial hotel, as we made friends with our ”neighbours” and would see them from time to time when we were out swimming. The hotel's beach is clean and stunning, the sun beds are thickly padded and comfortable, and we made use of the bodyboarding and kayaking equipment on our stay. The restaurants at the hotel were incredible! The main ones are Ta-Krai (Thai), Sakura (Japanese), and Olive (Italian). Before arriving I was a bit sceptical at how authentic the restaurants would be but the hotel has ensured they've brought in the best chefs who could bring authentic cuisine to Khao Lak. The sushi at Sakura was probably the freshest and tastiest I've ever had (albeit, I've not been to Japan yet, but it's still better than all the London sushi places where we live and even better than Nobu). We loved Olive restaurant too, in particular their Sunset BBQ evening where you're spoilt for choice on meats, seafood, sides, salads, and a full-on Italian cheese and ham bar with really delicious, authentic selections. Chef Enzo there was dishing out cheeses to us and making recommendations what to pair each cheese with and was so helpful (and the cheeses were incredible). We opted for the Breakfast and Dinner package and we're really glad we did as we loved going back to those restaurants over the 10 days. For lunch we'd eat at the hotel cafes, or out at excursions, or at local restaurants adjacent to the hotel, such as Phen's (delicious!). We also bought a spa package at Quan Spa in the hotel and booked in lots of treatments throughout our stay. The spa is beautiful and the massage therapists were excellent; it's a bit pricier than outside the hotel but the spa environment is worth it for that luxe feeling (and still cheaper than in the UK!). Overall, I don't think we found and faults with our stay at JWM and we will definitely come back in the future, perhaps for our anniversaries! And we would highly recommend it to all our family and friends!

Remote resort but had everything we needed for a calm and relaxing holiday. Great beach and nice pools. Rooms were big and clean. We also walked to the Tsunami Memorial place just a short walk on the beach to get there. There is a newly opened restaurant called Tid Lom, with local nice cheap food including live music, 5 min walk from the hotel on the main road. (In case you don’t want to pay the high price for the hotel dinner buffet)
