Ulasan Kirishima Kokusai Hotel

This is a huge hotel, so big that the check-in line stretched outside the door. The mud in the hot springs was a unique highlight. The kids' play area and restaurants cater well to families. However, public transport isn't great; the bus takes a long time, and even the front desk couldn't get us a taxi.

We had a very disappointing experience during dinner on December 9th. The middle-aged chef in charge of grilling the Wagyu beef showed clear discrimination toward guests who don’t speak Japanese. Everyone was lining up to receive beef, but he consistently gave noticeably larger portions to Japanese guests while giving much smaller portions to foreign guests who couldn’t speak Japanese. When I saw how little he gave me, I asked for enough for two people. He added only one extra slice. When I told him it still wasn’t enough, he very reluctantly added two more slices, all while maintaining a very unpleasant attitude. His behavior and facial expressions were completely different from how he treated the Japanese guests before me. My husband and I each went twice, and the treatment was the same both times. This kind of discriminatory attitude is completely unacceptable, especially in a hotel that hosts many international visitors. I strongly object to this kind of behavior and cannot recommend this hotel.

The onsen is big and amazing. The buffet dinner and breakfast are sumptuous with quality food! The room is spacious and comfortable. The only setback is the hotel is quite old and dated in the common places. With the quality food and best onsen, it's still a value for money hotel to be in.

Very nice resort in the Kirishima mountains. Nice big rooms with a nice balcony. Free shoju is provided in the lobby nightly. Lots of toys and activities for families and kids. Great public onsen area with numerous indoor and outdoor pools. Great selection for dinner and breakfast buffets.

Everything just average! Buffet dinner very disappointed, taste of the food just average and not many choices, breakfast is normal. I may not come again next time.

Hot spring hotel in an area renowned for its hot springs. I deliberately chose the Japanese tatami-style to experience more of the local culture. As you can see from the photos, the view from my room was really nice! I also like the fact that both dinner and breakfast were included, as there isn't much around. Very comfortable stay overall, but mind you - the smell of sulphur (possibly?) from the hot springs is always there!

Great and serviceable. The location takes time to get to but you can manage a 40 minute bus ride it’s worth it. The water is so relaxing and the onsen is amazing to see. Great for families.

Very bad. The facilities are old. The food is bad. The room charged such price is not fair. Don’t book!

My sincerest gratitude to the professional service and helpfulness of the front desk staff in particular the Div. Manager, Mr. Atsuyoshi Kubota, who patiently search for available medical service during late hours for treating my wife's injury and also voluntarily arrange a staff to accompany us to the hospital. Ram Kumar, the accompanying staff, is instrumemental in our communication to the medical personnels and he is so kind to arrange late dinner for us at the hotel's discretion. They not only demonstrate the highest level of professionalism but also their genuine care of the well being of the customers. Once again, big big thanks to Mr. Kubota and his team of beautiful people. By the way, good breakfast and dinner, both in terms of the menu as well as service and venue.

It's a revamped hotel with new facilities! The tidiness and clean impressed me! The breakfast and dinner buffet were in good quality as well especially the beef. Highly recommend!

Good good

The hot spring pools were naturally murky, the hotel staff were very friendly, and the environment was clean. I'll definitely come back for a follow-up visit. As for the food, I had the buffet this time, but next time I'd like to try the kaiseki cuisine.
