"I stay here once a week because my child's school is nearby. I've tried several B&Bs in this area, but I always choose this one because the owner is very good at business. Guests get free use of an electric scooter, and let me tell you, that's an incredible experience! Especially when the weather is nice, riding an electric scooter around the scenic spots, through West Lake, is something most people, especially tourists, haven't experienced. You can stop anytime you see a beautiful view, take photos, and really soak it all in without getting stuck in traffic. This time, the landlady upgraded my room to a two-bedroom unit, which was great. Another advantage of staying here is that the village is genuinely quiet, making for a much more comfortable sleep than in a chain hotel. The surrounding area is full of people from Hangzhou, and you can really get a taste of local life at breakfast."

"Took my mom to visit West Lake, and this hotel is perfectly situated right next to Duan Bridge, connecting to Bai Causeway. It's also super close to Hubin Road, making its location unbeatable. I expected it to be an old hotel, but the facilities felt really new, and it had a strong festive atmosphere, especially during Chinese New Year. The lobby offered a variety of folk activities, like free mochi tasting. The breakfast was a delightful blend of Chinese and Western options; I saw many kids happily eating. The service was incredibly thoughtful, with plenty of staff in the lobby ensuring a quick check-in. We had two meals at the rooftop restaurant. The dishes were authentic Hangzhou cuisine – fresh and light. There were quite a few outside diners, so reservations are a must. From there, you get a panoramic view of West Lake. I heard this was one of the first hotels Jack Ma promoted online for international guests, and it certainly lives up to the hype! The rooftop also has an outdoor photo spot with stunning West Lake views."

"I booked an executive lake view king room with two nights and two breakfasts. I explored West Lake the afternoon before, and on the second day, I just stayed in the hotel all day because of the sudden drop in temperature and continuous drizzle. Both breakfast and dinner were quite quiet, maybe because there weren't many people. The food, especially the meat, wasn't very fresh; it felt like old dishes were being re-served, tough and dry. If you enjoy buffets, you should definitely choose a hotel with higher popularity. As for the environment, we stayed on the 9th floor, and indeed, West Lake was right outside our door. However, there was a persistent 'old people smell' in the bathroom, and I'm not sure why."

"The room was very clean, and I had booked a studio apartment with a king-size bed, but the front desk upgraded me to a one-bedroom apartment for free, which was a great gesture! The location is excellent, facing the 'Big Lotus' (Hangzhou Olympic Sports Center Main Stadium) and the 'Gate of Hangzhou'. The service was warm and friendly, and the breakfast was extensive with a good mix of Chinese and Western options, offering great value for money. Parking was also very convenient. My friend recommended this place, and I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Hangzhou. Highly recommended!!"

"The hotel is nestled by West Lake, offering a very peaceful and quiet environment. The room was incredibly spacious, and they even provided four bottles of water. The front desk offered ginger tea, coffee, and even lens cleaning cloths. For breakfast, we got vouchers to a steamed dumpling (shaomai) shop just outside, and their shaomai completely changed my perception – it was absolutely delicious! There's parking available outside the hotel, and it's pet-friendly! A special shout-out to the beautiful and enthusiastic young lady at the front desk. As soon as we arrived, she warmly welcomed my well-behaved dog and immediately upgraded us for free to a massive room with a courtyard. It was incredibly thoughtful and touching! Ordering takeout to the hotel was super convenient, and the lovely front desk attendant even brought it to our room twice. Her warmth truly comes from the heart, and she's as kind as she is beautiful! I wish her all the best! My stay near West Lake in Hangzhou was absolutely perfect! 👍"

"We struck gold when we found Hefu Hotel in Hangzhou. It is a beautiful inn with a traditional exterior and modern interiors. The surroundings are so peaceful, yet West Lake is just 15 minutes away on foot. We picked the Family Courtyard View Room with 2 bedrooms. Perfect size for our family of four. Spacious unit with a dining room. L'Occitane toiletries are provided, and the twirling shower massage is a great feature! The dining area crosses a living room and library, so much so it feels like home. Breakfast is made to order and a different main course is featured every day. Dinner is by reservations. We didn't know, but the staff accommodated us when I said the kids were too tired to go out again for dinner. We could even place our order, returned to our room to shower and rest, and then the kitchen called us over when our dishes were ready! For our second dinner, we were invited to ask for anything we wished to eat, even if the dishes were not on the menu. So, we order 3 from the menu and requested a light fishball soup and steamed egg custard. What a wonderful, heartwarming meal of homemade simplicity! Service is attentive, and I dare say will rival that of international 5-star hotels in big cities. When my boys couldn't wake for breakfast, staff prepared takeaways for them. When my 10yo said he preferred western breakfasts, staff prepared wagyu sausages and bacon for him the next 2 mornings! I asked about laundry service, and staff said they would take care of it for free! The night before departure, I told them about my difficulty understanding directions to my next hotel in a restricted heritage area. While I had dinner, the staff made calls to help me plan my way over and booked us a large vehicle for us and our suitcases. Hefu staff even managed to get my butler from the next hotel to connect with me on WeChat! We were so well taken care of!"

"I stayed here to watch a show at the Butterfly Theater, and it was super convenient since it's just across the road. Overall, I had a great experience. The housekeeping staff was really friendly and helpful, and the bedding was super comfortable. It was freezing cold outside during my stay, but the hotel was wonderfully warm – I could even wear short sleeves inside! Not just in the room, but even in the common areas, it was so cozy. I went to breakfast in a T-shirt every day."

"The facilities are excellent and very complete, with a private bathroom that separates the wet and dry areas. The room environment is really good, and it's surrounded by similar guesthouses. It's very quiet at night, and you can hear birds chirping in the morning. The guesthouse's cleanliness is top-notch; they ask every day if you'd like your room cleaned. The service is fantastic; both owners are very friendly and offered some great tips for sightseeing. They even helped with my luggage. There's a mini-fridge on the first floor, which was convenient for storing medication that needed refrigeration. Ordering takeout was also very easy."

"A fantastic hotel all way round! Its own description is totally spot on, on the amenities; a fantastic location at the CBD, a fantastic view of many parts of Hangzhou. Made a great impression on my first visit to the City and third time to China. Ample room and storage in the room, a studio space in essence. Has its own washing machine and small refrigerator and mini cook top and hood extractor in the room, with a mini stainless steel sink. Full length mirror and reasonable bathroom, and a sitting area. The location and food are superbly situated downstairs for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Face recognition entry downstairs and six elevators. A large shopping center across the hotel - that one won’t believe is there, you would thought it is a parking structure spanning across two or three city blocks! All capped by a fantastic value for money. It is the best value for money hotel I have stayed in China. Will come back again and again if the value stays."

"This stay was absolutely fantastic! It's super convenient to get here – just one subway stop from Hangzhou East Station to Pengbu Station (exit C), and the hotel reception is a mere two-minute walk from there. The room was spotlessly clean, and the staff were incredibly welcoming and efficient with check-in. They were also very responsive to all my requests. Great transport links and warm service, it completely exceeded my expectations. Definitely a five-star rating, and I'll choose this hotel again next time I'm in Hangzhou!"
