"Kinda upset that the cabinet is full and there’s no place to hang my clothes. The cushions on the tatami has lots of stains which feels so dirty. It makes me wonder if the curtains are clean too. The staff at the reception that I met only understands Japanese, it’s challenging to communicate and I have to keep using a translator which is a hassle. I forgot my keys on one of the nights and couldn’t dial through any of the numbers that is on the window of the reception. Stood there for approximately 20 minutes then I tried to check if I can send a message instead. I felt devastated. Perhaps a phone can be placed outside so that guests can use it to call when there is an emergency? Thankfully I could send an iMessage using iPhone and the staff came to assist with opening the door for me in about 15 minutes which is pretty quick."

"super close to saiin train station, making it convenient to go to arashiyama and gion area. easy access for bus as well, amenities is complete and they also has free bicycle rental, which you need to pay 1000 deposit can use as long as you want but you need to wait for their front desk to open at 10am to start rent it. room was big enough for our 2 28inch luggage to open and still has some room for my kid to move around 😁 it was a pleasant experience for us."

"Great service, clean, comfortable, and conveniently located! Check-in was a breeze. It's a nice apartment-style hotel, and the bus stop right outside makes it easy to get to the station or commercial areas. Being in a residential neighborhood, it's also quite quiet."

"Conveniently located near the JR Shinkansen line and right next to Don Quijote, this hotel offers rooms that are quite spacious for Japan and excellent value for money. "The room was excellent, with comfortable bedding and a spacious layout. The bathroom didn't have a bathtub, which is a bit uncommon for Japan, but the space was still decent. The separate washroom area was practically laid out and spacious. The front desk staff were very patient. The male staff members were bilingual (Japanese/English), and the female staff members were also bilingual (Japanese/Chinese), making for a quick check-in process. The lobby on the first floor was quite spacious, providing a good spot for a temporary rest. They offered complimentary sugar-free beverages (available until 9 PM or 9:30 PM) and there was an ice machine. The location was also excellent. It's about a 7-minute walk to Sanjo subway station, and close to the bustling Sanjo and Shijo districts, roughly a ten to fifteen-minute walk away. You can also walk to Yasaka Shrine, which takes less than half an hour. I didn't pay much attention to what was around the immediate vicinity, and I was a little disappointed that there weren't any major department stores nearby, but since my stay was short, it didn't really impact my experience. Finally, a few minor points for improvement: The bathroom walls weren't tiled but rather made of plastic panels (a minor detail, not a big deal). Also, the number of washing machines and dryers was too limited – it seemed there was only one or two. Overall, I was extremely satisfied. If the price is right on my next visit to Kyoto, I would definitely stay here again."

"Loved this place so much! It's a shame we only booked one night. We didn't meet the host at all; it was a completely self-check-in experience. Towels, toothbrushes, and other amenities were available for self-service purchase. They also offered bike rentals (1000 JPY per bike per day). Additionally, there was a 200 JPY tax per person. At first, I wondered how to pay the tax since we didn't see the host, but then I found the reservation confirmation and a QR code on the table in the room, which allowed us to scan and pay directly! Our room was on the second floor and had its own toilet and sink, while the shower room was shared and located outside. The room was really beautiful, and the kids loved it. I thought a wooden room might have poor soundproofing, but it was surprisingly quiet. We went to bed before 7 PM and didn't hear a sound. In the morning, we also enjoyed some hot white rice porridge, which was fantastic! I hope to have the chance to stay for a few more nights next time!"

"Seriously, this hotel is incredible! On the second floor, there's a fantastic complimentary bar with drinks, including some alcoholic options. You can even take your drinks to the terrace, which boasts exquisite landscaping and stunning views. The front desk staff was not only super handsome (a Western guy!) but also incredibly friendly and helpful! Our room was extremely clean and very spacious. The washing machine was another great feature and worked flawlessly! Absolutely perfect!"
