Rawi Warin Resort in Thailand hosted our destination wedding, and we were thoroughly impressed with the overall experience. As a couple from different countries who met in a foreign land but now reside together, we sought an intimate wedding with 33 guests. Rawi Warin stood out among the 20 resorts we researched on Krabi/Ko Lanta due to its remarkable beauty and elegant ambiance, ultimately leading us to book our wedding there. Throughout the planning process, the resort's communication was frequent and efficient, ensuring all our queries were promptly addressed. Upon our arrival three days before the wedding, we were struck by the well-maintained gardens, picturesque pond, and exquisite buildings, all of which contributed to the resort's appeal. The resort staff was undoubtedly the highlight of our experience, displaying genuine warmth and hospitality. They consistently greeted us with smiles and ensured our needs were met throughout our, and our guests stay. Rawi Warin's wedding package included essential elements such as decor, flowers, stationery, a wedding officiant, wedding cake and a wedding coordinator, making the planning process more streamlined. While an outdoor wedding was not possible due to weather conditions, the resort efficiently transitioned to an indoor setting, which turned out to be equally enchanting. The attention to detail in the wedding arrangements and the quality of service provided by the staff exceeded our expectations. The resort's pool was also a standout feature, and the surrounding natural beauty added to the overall allure. Our heartfelt appreciation goes out to Rawi Warin and its dedicated team for their contribution to making our wedding a memorable occasion. We recommend the resort for couples seeking a picturesque destination wedding experience.

Hotel yang sangat berpuas hati! Di Koh Lanta, semua rumah adalah vila keluarga tunggal dengan kehijauan yang baik, sama seperti tinggal di hutan hujan tropika. Terdapat pantai persendirian dengan beberapa orang dan air laut yang bersih Terdapat kolam renang, kuda dan ayam, restoran, bar, dan gimnasium Terdapat aktiviti yang berbeza setiap hari. Perkhidmatan ini sangat baik. Pertama sekali, terdapat kakitangan penyambut tetamu yang berbahasa Cina yang akan menerangkan kandungan hotel dengan sabar. Kedua, terdapat perkhidmatan jemput dan hantar (sangat penting. Ia adalah 2 jam + memandu dari lapangan terbang dan anda perlu menaiki feri sangat menyusahkan untuk pergi ke sana sendiri). Kami berjalan di jalan raya. Pengurus pun datang untuk mengucapkan selamat tinggal ketika kami mendaftar keluar. Lain kali saya berharap berpeluang untuk tinggal lebih lama!

This is a lovely hotel and a great relaxed resort. The best of both worlds. Room: We came for a family holiday (kids age 12,11,7) had a 2 bedroom villa, which was a good set-up. Nice size pool between the two rooms. Beach villa 507/507. 2 mins walk to the beach. Youngest slept in our room as worried about passing the pool in the night, but we knew this beforehand. Probably the best room set-up and location we’ve ever had. Pleased with this. Lots of wildlife.. monkeys, monitors, frogs.. we loved this. Food: we had Thai buffet which was good. Great selection at breakfast. Aside from this, we ate at local restaurants- which were very good. Head out of the hotel and turn right. At the end of the beach there is a little village - lots of little restaurants. All very quiet due to lack of tourists following covid. Don’t be put put off by the quietness. Everything is fresh and delicious and you will be totally spoilt. I really hope tourism recovers a little here - the local people are desperately in need of it. ‘Same but different’ shack on beach (out of. Hotel and turn left) is small, but good food for lunch. Rice and noodle dishes, stir/fry, fries, very reasonably priced Lassis/soft drinks and beer. We ate here every lunchtime as it was close to our villa and couldn’t have asked for better. Beach: The beach is public, but Pimalai side is very quiet. Complimentary kayaks and paddle boards etc. we had a lovely family time. Excursions: hotel organised excursions are great and reasonably priced. We did morning mangrove tour - our tour guide (Gun) was superb. We also went on sunset cruise with snorkelling - also great! Downside: On check-in, we had no orientation and very little info about the hotel when we arrived. We were told everything was on the app. However, there was no internet in the room when we arrived (I think an external problem) so we couldn’t access it. We felt a little deserted. This was not a big deal - but we had no map or any real info about the hotel and surrounding area. It took 2 phonecalls to reception to explain we had no idea where I’m the resort we actually were, and no idea how to get to restaurants/no idea of food choices at hotel. They brought us a map. We arrived in the late afternoon after a long journey from London via Phuket. Nobody suggested where we go for food. Nobody asked if we wanted to make a reservation to eat. We headed out of the room to find food- with 3 very grumpy, tired and hungry kids. We found that there was a Thai buffet at the hotel - but only knew about this as it was on the route out of our room to the lobby. Nobody mentioned this when we checked in and we wouldn’t have known if we were staying anywhere else on the resort. Advice for people with kids— avoid top section of resort/hillside if you want to be near beach. It’s a bit more of a trek. Both pools are lovely and nicely shaded. Overall a lovely stay and wouldn’t hesitate to return.

Mixed feelings about this hotel. The pools are fabulous as is the beach the hotel is on. Sadly the pool can only be enjoyed if you’re inclined to get up at the crack of dawn to get a sunbed. A lot of guests getting away with putting towels on beds and often not even using them. The hotel needs to address this. We’ve stayed all over Thailand and found Koh Lanta the least friendly in particular guests in this hotel. The Chada has 5 stars when it would only scrape 3 . The rooms are big with good air con. The WiFi useless. The staff friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very average. We loved Koh Lanta but not so much the Chada resort,

Recommended for couples. We upgraded to a pool access room. We had a lovely 3 days in Avani + the staff were all lovely and we felt very relaxed and looked after during our stay. The resort is in a great spot for a quiet rest and renting a motorbike from the front desk is recommended for the 5 min drive to the main town. Facilities were very clean and looked after. Pools were immaculate and perfect for a nice quiet few days of relaxing. Breakfast was good with plenty of options. Overall would recommend and would stay again! Thanks again to all the staff, we loved every minute.

This is our 4th hotel out of 7 on this particular trip but sadly comes in a bit lacking for me, I had very high expectations. Firstly on check we asked about hiring a moped. The girl on the tours desk barely looked up from her phone and said “no”. We managed to rent one down the road at Miami but this is the first hotel I’ve ever stayed in Thailand that doesn’t help with motorbike rental. We didn’t approach her for anything else as for me, first impressions last. Our room was okay, can’t imagine when booking why I thought a bath on the balcony was a good idea! My bad! There was tons of wardrobe space and the bed and pillows were comfy. Lacked conditioner & body lotion which I’ve found in other hotels. Generally the room was a bit tired and needed a good deep clean. The bathroom mirror hadn’t been cleaned since the last guest and we had ants around the sink on day three. The shower had very intermittent water temperatures and had black mould at the bottom near the drain. Also tea/coffee spills on the floor that hadn’t been mopped. The communal areas I also found to be grubby and unkempt. No-one sweeps up leaves and they get mingled with bits of rubbish. The sunbed areas aren’t mopped so drink spillages give sticky dirty patches. You get the gist. Breakfast was really good, plenty of choice and half decent coffee. I just found the ambience to be generally quite standoffish and unfriendly, apart from Mr Bunty who was lovely. Most days we went out to Horizon Bar on the beach, much nicer vibe. There are no showers or foot washes between the beach and the pools which results in the pool being full of sand. All in all I have been disappointed, for the price I expected better. Small improvements would make this hotel much better.

We stayed at The Houben for 5 nights & wished it had been much longer! We were welcomed by Eric & a refreshing drink & were given lots of useful information about the hotel & Koh Lanta generally. The staff here are amazing- attentive, respectful & so proud of their resort & island. Our room had fantastic views over the infinity pool & the bay/ sea beyond. It is the perfect spot for watching the long tailed boats go past & the sunsets. The room itself was spacious & clean with a huge bed, bathroom with big bath & separate walk in shower. The balcony had comfortable seats & we were lucky to be able to watch a family of monkeys playing around the pool & grounds early one morning. We had previously been in Bangkok & Ao Nang which was a really busy time so The Houben was our chance to relax & recharge, spending mornings enjoying the great a la carte breakfast & around the pool then heading out in the afternoons. The hotel is within walking distance of plenty of restaurants serving great Thai food & a couple of bars. Kantiang Bay boasts some of the best sunsets & is a beautiful beach to watch the world go by. The people here, both at the hotel & the wider area, are so friendly & helpful- we loved getting out & about via Tuktuk & taxi to explore. Lanta Old town is small but has fantastic restaurants with spectacular views. I cannot recommend The Houben enough- it was the best stay & we felt that we were a million miles away from everything- a genuine slice of perfection. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Alama Sea Village Resort! It's a short walk down to the restaurants and beach, but it's a completely different feeling coming up to the view of the mountains and the beach. We stayed in a two-room cabin that has a small terrace with outdoor stairs between the rooms. The view was fantastic (we stayed quite high up) the large windows have a film cover to keep heat out and people from looking in, it worked very well. The rooms were very prettily furnished and clean (no insects or lizards to be seen), although one of them had less good storage than the other. The beds were softer than others we encountered, but not super soft. The pressure in the shower wasn't great, but that is perhaps to be expected when it is so high up. The cottages are located with their backs to each other, which made them very private. The hotel grounds are nice with frangipani trees and hibiscus, but have a few blemishes here and there, but nothing that bothered us. We didn't see or get disturbed by any monkeys during our stay. There are a lot of stairs, of course, with such a location. The pool was absolutely gorgeous against the wonderful view of the mountains and the beach. However, it gets hot in the morning when the sun is directly on, but in the afternoon it is more shady and cool. The pool area is not very big so I was worried at first that it would be crowded there, but it never was, it was very peaceful. The breakfast was very good and served with an incredible view in the upper restaurant, although sometimes there was a lack of seats in the shade. We only had lunch at the hotel twice and then unfortunately the service was very slow. Also note that they don't serve alcohol. The staff was very friendly and nice and the receptionists were very helpful and friendly with good English. If I were to give some improvement tips to the hotel, it would be to maybe have a chair or stool on the patio in addition to Thai cushions, beanbag and hammock. Maybe they should also make another row of sun umbrellas instead of the rear ”shelf” with beanbags that they have today, that's rarely used. We didn't dare lie there in case the kids fell down or you dropped stuff. A nice touch though was that the rooms came with a pretty basket to carry beach towels etc. in! Overall we enjoyed ourselves very much in Kantiang Bay, it was quiet, beautiful and cosy. The beach is incredibly beautiful and quite unexploited with the mountains in the background, although it is not chalk white as is sometimes said, and there are rocks in the water that are noticeable especially at low tide. There is also nowhere you can rent sunbeds and hardly any accessible natural shade. We recommend afternoon swimming and the restaurant ”Same same but different”, which is nicely located under trees at the southern end of the beach (where there is a completely rock free patch too).

I would stay here again in a heartbeat. I loved it. But beware of a few issues: Cons: - Music at neighbouring Why Not bar goes all day from roughly noon to midnight. At night it can get very loud, especially during and after the fire shows. Earplugs and/or noise machine is a must. If you’re sensitive to noise, and need absolute quiet to sleep, do not stay here. But it also keeps the price down, which is a bonus. - The rooms could use a refresh and deep cleaning. Overall it’s pretty clean, but the shower especially needs a really good scrub. The lower room we had was musty smelling. - The breakfast options and restaurant in general are very underwhelming. (Although the eggs were always perfect). The “hot” breakfast buffet dishes were not kept warm and were generally always cold. Unsure why. Coffee was terrible. Pros: - Perfect location on Koh Lanta! Minutes walk to small town (7/11), on what I’d say is a great beach with a good vibe. Lots of restaurants and cafes surrounding. - Views and sunsets are spectacular and you’re a few steps from the beach. - It’s located towards the southern part of the island, which we found much nicer than the north, and not as isolated as the far south. Rent a scooter for easy driving around the whole island. - The areas to hang out on the property are great. Sun beds around the pool, hammock on your own deck, we rarely left the property. - The pool is excellent, clean, and well maintained. It made all the difference. - The gardens around the pool are SO beautiful and well maintained. If you can tolerate the cons, book this place early for a steal of a deal. Highly recommended.
