Ulasan SYLVAN Koh Chang

The hotel is old, like really old, it was built in 1989 and it’s very visible. The bedsheets, towels are so old and dirty like 2 star motel. Deluxe family room looks like rooms in 1989 also. Not modern at all. We upgraded to villa (had to pay a lot for this) and it’s good, a bit old but much better, with beach view and private territory. The territory of hotel is really beautiful and big, it’s like a park and beach is great. You can also take cayak to get to the small island nearby. The birds (hornbills) that live at the hotel are really beautiful and worth seeing! Everything closes really early - even game room - it’s just a room with board games and we wanted to play there and the staff told us that they were closing at 7.30 p.m! Why not open this room until 10 at least 😀 No evening activities at all. Everything gets quiet and dead at 7 p.m. There is beach cinema announcement at reception on Sundays, but when we arrived on Sunday, the staff told us that there will be no movies 🫣 Отель очень старый, просто древний, постельное белье и полотенца в ужасном состоянии. Семейный номер на горе - это просто ужас. Детский бассейн на горе ушатанный. Единственное достойное в этом отеле - виллы с видом на море. В них нормальная мебель, полотенца и особое меню на завтраках. Прекрасная территория и пляж. Птицы-носороги - это восторг. Обезьяны нас не беспокоили - но мы жили на вилле рядом с морем. Думаю, в лесных номерах их полно.. В 7 часов вечера в отеле все закрывается, полная тишина. Никаких развлечений. Пляж прекрасный, надеюсь, что отель займется реновацией номеров, приведением их в современный стиль.

Absolutely beautiful hotel with amazing views, very peaceful and quiet, despite lots of families with children. Resort is huge which feels like a beautiful jungle. Very easy to get around with staff on tuk tuks. Regarding the service, most beautiful people, always smiling! Beach at the hotel also very peaceful. Spa is next level, had best massage in my life! Would definitely recommend this hotel!

The villa was fabulous! Feels like you're in the middle of the jungle, but still have your privacy. Full beach view and amazing overall vibe.

It's the best resort to stay in Koh Chang! In comparison of two other resorts. There was a great experience: the breakfast, the swimming pool, the beach, the room. A cake and towel elephants on a birthday)) Highly recommended

Staying at this hotel was a great experience.  The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Since it was our first visit to Koh Chang, they offered excellent suggestions for sightseeing, dining, and told us about the pop-up night market at the temple. They also helped us in organizing a half-day itinerary around the east side of the island. The room was spacious and clean, and conveniently connected to the pool and beach. While some insects and mosquitoes were present, they weren't a major issue. The breakfast buffet offered a lot of food choices and a slight different menu every day, with stunning views from the restaurant at the top of the hill.  The hotel has its own private beach, which offered a lovely spot to watch the sunset. We rented a kayak for 200 baht per hour and paddled to the small island across from the hotel, where we discovered even clearer water and white sand. The hotel is a bit far from the main city street and requires a taxi to access 7-11 and other restaurants, but transportation can be easily arranged with the hotel.

Amazing scenery! It's quiet and peaceful, perfect for a family getaway to escape all your worries! They offer paddleboarding, and you can even paddle directly to the secluded beach on the island across the way. The rooms are a bit old, so definitely try to stay in the main building! The view from the breakfast restaurant is absolutely incredible, comparable to the nearby observation deck!

I traveled here with 2 old people and I'll give review from this specific perspective. We loved Sylvan's service — we always got a golf car to move around their huge area, breakfast was always welcomed with wide smiles, and taxi to the city was also organised quickly. Our room was quite and we didn't have neighbours. Facilities were amazing and we only had a minor problem with a sink (cleaners made a temporary fix and explained someone is a bit broken). Sea is clean. They provide kayaks for 200b for 2, and it was fun to research a nearby island. As for significant problems, Sylvan is far from the town. We had to take expensive taxis and it costed us 100b for one person to get to the nearest grocery and back. They have restaurants and cafes in Sylvan but their fried fish costs 700b while town's price will be twice lower. Although, they provide free taxi to the town and back, time slots are inconvinient and there's none after 4 pm. I understand that it wouldn't be possible to build this big complex closer to the town but maybe letting residents to go for a dinner with the free taxi would make us consider this the best option we could have.

The hotel is wonderful, the staff are friendly, helpful, and responsive around the clock. The jungle is fun, and there are chickens that children enjoy watching. You can see hornbills in the trees. You can see monkeys and macaques and enjoy the beautiful beach and pools. There is a cable car that takes you there. A shuttle service is available to and from the hotel. A free shuttle to the center is available at certain times. We enjoyed our stay there, and the breakfast is delicious, varied, and comprehensive.

Not as we thought the 4-5 stars hotel would be. People smoked beside the pool, the maid didn’t clean the room properly. No beach at the time we were there because of a high tide. So cannot said that the hotel has a private beach. But our family enjoyed seeing the monkeys and the hornbills.

Nice hotel but located a bit far from the main road. Beautiful sea view from the room.

Amazing views in the nature

My wife and I just spent 8 nights at Sylvan Koh Chang. Our feedback is generally positive, although there are sone glitches. The resort is generally filled with beautiful vegetation andoffering spectacular sunset views, is very clean. Our room was very luxurious and perfectly cleaned each day. The balcony in our room was occasionally invaded by monkeys. The breakfast buffet is well-supplied, althogh it gets quite crowded between 8-9 am. Unfortunately the hotel has only one restaurant open from 11 am on. The food is quite good, but service uneven. The beach is well-maintained, but the descent into the water may be challenging, especially for older people such us ourselves. In conclusion, I would rate the resort less than 5*, more like 4.2*.
