Hotel Pantai di Koh Phangan

Quite a nice place on the beach with a decent swimming pool and lovely rooms. A bit of a trek from the main port at Thong Sala (15 minutes or so).After checking in I went to the restaurant at 8.30pm, the staff member on duty didn't seem very happy that I arrived 30 minutes before the kitchen closed and kept checking her watch as I ate. Not a good experience.

We looooved that hotel. The architecture is really nice and modern. Not always practical, but that didn't really bother us. We loved the infinity pool which has a perfect lenght for swimming too. The location was perfect for us: Being in a super nice hotel surrounded by the jungle but in just a few minutes scooter ride (10-15 minutes) at hot spots, like Secret Beach, Zen Beach, Thongsala etc. The team was really nice and friendly and helped us with everything we needed. Restaurant was good and reasonably priced.

Overall the hotel was nice but in several point not what we expected: We booked a „villa with sea view“. There was no sea view at the villa that was assigned to us. You couldn’t see the sea neither from within the villa nor from the pool nor from the sun beds nor from the outside bath tub. The only way to see a glimpse of the sea was to stand up on a certain spot on the terrace. That’s not what we expected from a room advertised as „with sea view“ and the (trip.com) booking page also suggested otherwise. When we complained, we got assigned another villa where we could see the sea partly. Thank you for that. However, the manager told us that the photos from the booking page were in fact another villa. But it's not my responsibility to make sure that the photos and pictures provided on booking pages are correct. The hotel has to take care of that! This holds also true for the next issue: The gym was closed due to renovation. In the booking process, they advertised a huge fitness center with lots of machines. Now it’s shut down and we did not get any information about this. The „mini gym“, which does not even have at least one multi exercise machine, is nothing but a bad joke and no replacement at all for a proper gym! Again the staff told us they would inform about this on their website. When I checked that, I still found the photos of the large gym on their own website. It was just called ”mini gym”. But how am I supposed to know what they mean by that and that the provided photos are no longer correct??

Super Resort direkt am Strand mit einer vorgelagerten Insel (ich empfehle nur Wasserschuhe oder so etwas dabei zu haben, da der Übergang sehr steinig/korallig ist), rießen großer Pool mit Wasserkissen/Luftmatratzen, leckeres und abwechslungsreiches Frühstück (es gab jeden Tag etwas anderes und war toll angerichtet) Wenn man vom Hotelstrand und den 3 umliegenden Restaurants mal weg will, sollte man unbedingt einen Roller mieten. Hierbei ist zu beachten dass ein Stück weg zum Hotel recht holprig zu fahren ist (Feldweg mit vielen Schlaglöchern), haben es aber trotzdem hinbekommen :)

The place is a bit dated. Lock to the balcony door doesn't work, TV doesn't get much English stations, and the heat for the shower only gets a little hot before the breaker trips and you have to go turn on the electric again. But staff is friendly and location can't be beat.

We booked as it was close to KBA kitesurfing and it was a great find. We had a bungalow on the beach with a veranda overlooking the restaurant/bar and beach. The room was everything we needed, the big steps down to the bathroom can be a little challenging in the dark at night. The staff were really helpful and friendly and the loungers on the beach are great to hangout and chill. There is a restaurant on site but also plenty of places to walk to or short ride on a motorbike

Fantastic value for money for accommodation right on the beach. Each individual 'bungalow' is no more than 100m from the beach and they are all angled to give privacy from the rest of the hotel guests. Beach is stunning with good levels of privacy, and the sea is lovely. If you don't fancy swimming in the sea then there is also a swimming pool right on the beach. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, the room was comfortable and the location was excellent, with the centre of town being only a 10-minute stroll away. If you are interested in hiring mopeds then the staff at the hotel have a contact that we used (cheap prices, ฿150 a day). Would definitely return!

The room smelt of urine. Rooms and hotel seemed dated and therefore difficult to feel that they are very clean also. The pool was nice but not enough sun beds and then sun beds they did have were extremely uncomfortable. Great location for the beach however it is quite far from Thong Sala which seemed to be where everything was. Restaurant was lovely decor and had a great feel to it albeit a bit pricey. Hotel staff were lovely and organised taxis and early breakfast takeaway for us.

One of the best decisions during Koh Samui-Koh Phangan-Bangkok trip was to choose Tommy Resort just beside the sea on the Haad Rin beach of Koh Phangan. Certainly the best attraction is watching sun-rise from the resort. It’s a family run establishment around lush green surroundings and hard working and always helpful smiling staff. We will remember Suthee and Jabb for their support. It has a two-story building and several cottages and in between a large, beautiful and well-maintained swimming pool. They serve buffet breakfast with a range of items from fresh fruits to bread to rice and several Thai curries. Fruit juice and tea/coffee are also there. Beachfront restaurant serves excellent Thai food at a reasonable price. People who love swimming will definitely enjoy Haad Rin and avail that opportunity by staying at the Tommy Resort. Also, people who like to enjoy and make fun during the Full moon party should go and stay there though that was a few days after our stay there. Travelers can take service from their tour desk. Suthee helped us in taking a day-long trip around Koh-Phagan and Jab helped us in booking a ferry ticket to go back to Koh Samui. It is worth mentioning that they have pick-up and drop service from and to ferry stations which are known as ‘pier’ in Thailand. We were truly happy to have that complementary service.
