Hotel berhampiran Intanki Wildlife Sanctuary, Kohima

This hotel is situated at the centre of Kohima, quite close to the war cemetry. We had booked the standard room, which was the only option available in MakeMyTrip; however, the hotel does have other rooms as well. It does not have airconditioning, which is certainly not required at Kohima in normal course. The hotel is clean and the staff is very sincere, knowledged and helpful. Our room had a balcony with a nice view of the town. The room was good for business travellers as well; it had a proper tubelight besides the normal dim yellow lights, and had a snacks tray with food items with only nominal service charge addition to MRP. The restaurant has good ambience and they prepare the food freshly as per guests’ tastes. We were quite happy with their vegetarian preparations and took packed meals from them during our local travels. The hotel does not have a lift, but the staff does brings the luggage of the guests requiring help.

It has comfortable rooms and hygienic food. Accessibility is a challenge as it is on the 2nd floor, but otherwise it has very helpful staff and is in the city center close to shops like dominos and other restaurants.

It is the worst hotel and the most irresponsible one I have encountered in 21 years of travel experience. I had a booking confirmation here, through my travel agent, paid fully, and when I arrived there at the hotel reception desk, the hotel refused to acknowledge the booking. The three ladies at the reception desk were extremely rude and nasty in their behaviour and attitude. I was travelling with my daughter, and we had no other place to stay, late in the evening. They refused to offer any kinds of help, also. Finally my travel agent made an alternate arrangement for us. Therefore, be extremely careful while booking Japfu hotel, Kohima. A very pleasant stay overall, and for sure will be my stay of choice when I come again. Front desk service The gentle*** on shift is very friendly, attentive, and helpful throughout the process from me considering to book a room to arrival and checking out. He had provided really helpful information, answered WhatsApp messages promptly, and has given helpful advice about local interests spots. With such friendly assistance it has truly made my stay very pleasant and the whole process easy and smooth! Superb and thank you! Room I booked a classic double room which is on the first floor with big windows overseeing the hill. Very clean, very quiet. The electric heater and the extra blanket are very helpful in this time of the year ~! The bed is very comfortable. Provided me a nice, quiet rest. Little settee and table are enough to let me enjoy a comfortable sitting around and do my reading, and a good spot to enjoy the food brought to the room too~ Toilet and bathroom : Very clean. Nice clean and thick towels. Water is very hot when need be, and powerful shower! Restaurant Delighted to have found spare ribs on the menu, not ***y places serve spare ribs. The dish that I tried was really tasty, and delicious and big portion as well! Very reasonably priced. The restaurant serves a wide variety of food. Service was really good. The staff there tried best to serve you the best, speedy, pleasant and friendly. Very good that food can be sent to the room for enjoyment. Complimentary breakfast has a wide variety as well, and it’s very decent! If the restaurant can provide special coffee that would even be more attractive~ Nearby attractions and transportation Within 5-10 minutes leisure walk you can reach very scenic spots overseeing the valley of Kohima. There is a nearby “Where the Food” restaurant right next to the scenic spots, where you can enjoy food overawing the valley. On a good sunny day another pleasant walk 20-25 minutes will take you farther downtown with nice cafes and others. Very convenient. I have enjoyed the stay thoroughly! Once again, thank you very much!
