"Positives - Fast check in & out process - 24/7 gym access - Surau is available - Excellent breakfast* - Strategic location - Decent swimming pool *I've been to many hotels, from basic to super luxurious & it's hard to find any that serve a decent Nasi Lemak but here (although not great) still i'd say is the best among other hotels that i've stayed at previously Negative - Just one. The qibla direction within the room is hidden. If any muslim guests are wondering where it is, it's in the drawer at the door where the laundry bag & stuffs are at (this is the first time EVER that i find it situated at such an awkward place 😆) This seems trivial but please consider putting it where it's easily visible (like the rest of the hotels). Because i've spent quite some time searching for it, only to find it when i was already about to check out from the hotel. Luckily i prayed at the surau during my stay. Overall 9/10"

"The location is excellent, directly opposite ECM Mall. However, upon entering the room, I noticed that the refrigerator was switched off, which resulted in an unpleasant odor when it was opened. I recommend ensuring that the refrigerator is thoroughly cleaned and turned on when preparing the room for guests. The breakfast offered a wide variety of options and was delicious. Overall, I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Kuantan."

"The plush mattress and pillows, combined with the genuinely comfortable room, offered perfect rest after a tiring journey and work in Selangor. My decision to stay here was spot on. Honestly, this is probably the only place in Kuantan where I can sleep like a log, completely undisturbed by... well, let's just say, 'mystical entities,' hahaha! Seriously though, haha. As for the sounds from the surrounding residents, they weren't much of an issue for me, as I slept soundly for both nights."

"The hotel feels a bit dated, and some areas could definitely use better upkeep. The room showed signs of age, and cleanliness was inconsistent, with clutter and worn furniture noticeable in common areas. That said, it was still acceptable for a short stay. The bed was reasonably comfortable, and basic amenities were available and functioning. Staff were polite and helpful when approached, which made the experience smoother. While it’s not a place that stands out for comfort or modern design, it does provide what you need at a basic level. With some improvements in maintenance and housekeeping, it could be much better. Overall, it’s an okay option if you’re not too picky and mainly need a place to rest."

The room comes with a working table which is so convenient when you need to work during the trip. The bathroom is big and the water pressure is strong. AAngie0511Thank you so much for letting us stay at your lovely home. My family and I really enjoyed our time there — the design of the house is amazing and we had a wonderful stay. I’d just like to share a couple of pieces of feedback that might help improve the experience for future guests: When it rained last night, the ceiling in the indoor garden area leaked, and water was dripping onto the power point on the kitchen wall, which seemed quite dangerous. The dish rack was quite dirty, and the chopping board had some mold, which felt a little unhygienic. We also found that there wasn’t quite enough cutlery, especially spoons, which made it a bit difficult at mealtimes. I hope this feedback is helpful, as we really think your place has so much charm, and with a few small improvements it can be even better. Thank you again for hosting us!

However, the view wasn't entirely of the sea; we could only see a partial view of the ocean and a lake obscured by large trees. During our stay, finding dining options was incredibly easy as there were eateries right across the street. Check-in was also very smooth, but guests need to WhatsApp or call one of the two provided numbers before arrival, as they don't proactively send check-in instructions. Overall, I would give my experience a 5/5 rating due to their excellent cooperation and helpfulness. Thank you.

GGuest UserGood value for facilities, location and size of unit. Some maintenance issues, broken trim, chipped mug, Microwave and washing machine are perfect for the longer stay. Biggest complaint was being stuck at the property's security gate, with the car obstruction everybody else for nearly 15 minutes because there was no earlier instruction from Trip.com or Timurbay about the need to obtain a QR code via WhatsApp just to be able to enter the compound to register on arrival. This is a deal-breaker and certainly not a good way to begin a holiday. The security guard was working overtime to clear the other people with the same issue as me, so there is definitely a flaw in the system somewhere.

WWei RouI was very satisfied with my stay at Tanjung Inn Cherating. The location is excellent, with plenty of cafés and shops within walking distance, and the property connects directly to the beach. The only downside is that the hotel is on higher ground, so getting to the beach means walking up and down a sandy path without proper stairs. Service was generally good, and I found WhatsApp to be the fastest way to reach staff — when I reported a plumbing issue, it was fixed immediately after I texted. Amenities are thoughtful, like the mosquito repellent provided in the room, though the water dispenser was broken and housekeeping doesn’t clean daily or replenish water unless requested. Despite these small inconveniences, the atmosphere is peaceful, the surroundings are charming, and it feels like a great place to slow down and enjoy Cherating. Overall, it was a pleasant stay, and I would happily return.

CONS This is an aging hotel and the maintenance can`t catch up as the years progresses. Our first night was terrible when we found out that the bed is full of bed bugs. The next morning they apologised for the issue and we were transferred to a new room. There always old marks & old stains on the bedsheet, blankets, toilets, walls but might be acceptable for some. No phone in the room, you have to call using your own phone if you want to reach the front counter. Breakfast 2.5/5. Again cleanliness is the issue, bowls, plates, you will find some particles in them. And the food is just average and cold. OVERALL : Just ok, below my expectation. WILL I RETURN? : Maybe no
