Hotel berhampiran Kengun Shrine, Kumamoto

A very nice, modern hotel in the heart of the Kumamoto shopping district - very convenient location, right at the cross section of the two major covered shopping thoroughfares. Check-in only at 3pm and is an automated check-in/check-out system. Staff are very helpful and friendly. At check-in, you are free to choose your amenities from a very wide selection, including bath salts, face cleanser, moisturizer, coffee, green tea, etc. There is a giant tv in the room. No bottled water is provided. The room offers a full robe (short yukata and pants!). The rooms itself are very modern and renovated. There are two Family Marts and a 7-11 within a block of the hotel, as well as many dining and retail options within short walking distance. It is about a 15 minute walk to Kumamoto Castle and a 30 minute walk to Kumamoto Station.

ツアーで宿泊しました。外観はリニュアルした後でとてもきれいです。内装も1階のレストランとロビー廻り、フロントはきれいです。特にレストランはきれいなだけではなく、朝食は地産の料理が並びとても美味しかったです。ところが客室はリニュアル工事中のようで、客用エレベーターが1基工事専用になっていました。客室階は廊下からすべてが昭和の雰囲気のビジネスホテルのそれです。部屋の中は古いホテルの臭いがして、絨毯から壁紙まで昔のままで、喫煙可能だった時代の残り香が感じられます。喫煙室であったことは焼け焦げた椅子の張地からも分かります。バスルームも昔のままで、床下の排水のトラップのせいで、20センチほどの段差があり、登り降りが大変でした。そしてとても狭いです。部屋からの眺望は川側は高速道路がありますが、空間は開けています・反対側は閉鎖された病院や古いビルの非常階段が見えるだけです。泊まるのであれば川側が良いと思います。いぜれにせよリニュアルが済んでからがベストです。眺望は変わりませんが。

The hotel's location was the main reason why we booked the place. It was close to both Kumamon Square and Kumamotojo, the 2 things we wanted to do in Kumamoto. However, note that even though it's right next to Kumamotojo, it still takes a 15~20minute walk to the entrance because it's on the other side of the castle keep during it's repairs. The staff are wonderful and very helpful, standard level of service in Japan is just one step above every other country. The staff did valet parking for me without extra charge, and was quite helpful in helping us to get to different attractions and restaurants. Overall, the hotel is very dated and the rooms are in dire need of a full renovation. I think that is why the rates were quite reasonable. For a hotel this caliber (probably 5 stars when it was first built), we only paid around 10,000 yen per night. The issue is the rooms are really old and the carpet looks dirty and ripped. parts of the washrooms were so old the faucet looked like it's from the early 90s and with small amounts of molds in the creases. Because the hotel is old, the ventilation isn't the greatest either. One of our rooms although was non-smoking, we could smell other room's cigarette smell in our room. Overall, I don't really recommend this hotel because it's really dated, but if you are on a budget and want close amenity it's worth a shot. The staff are nice too so I feel bad for not recommending the hotel, but at the end of the day, there are just better options in Kumamoto today.

The hotel is near the shopping streets.It's convenience for us to buy everything, includes the souvenirs and daily use.The grilling meat shops are covered all the street.Over 3 parking lots are nearby the hotel as well.Furthermore, many delicious Japanese food shops for choosing.The hotel also provides free water spa and sauna on the top floor which runs near 20hrs daily.The 3-persons bedrooms are clean and large, it has enough space for family to take a nap.Come again next time.

Right in the city center. This business hotel is in center of everthing. There is a 7-11 store at the ground floor. Automoatic parking service is provided with a small fee. Room is consider large for japanese hotel. Good breakfast with a choice of japanese or western set menu. Good value for money !

A lovely little hotel just a few minutes’ walk from the Sakuramachi bus station. Very convenient for getting to the Aso volcano by high speed bus. The station is inside a big mall and you can do most of your shopping there too. The hotel itself was comfy, and I got to do my laundry there which was ace.

After Breakfast, The Staff Cleaned The Chairs And The Table, We Are Quite Happy And Impressed By The Love And Dedication!! Breakfast Spread Quite Good Too My Daughter Enjoyed The Salted Pickles (I Think That’s What Is Called Service is Really Good Too, And The Hotel Is Near The Top Rated TonKatsu Restaurant -The Food There Is Simply Amazing And Delicious And Near Bus Terminal

It was a awesome stay at Koko Hotel Premier Kumamoto. We parked our car at the multi story parking building opposite and just walk over with our lugguage. As I have already read some reviews in advance, we have no problem finding the hotel but I must say the sign board is a little not eye catching and can easily miss it. (can see my photo below). Everything is comfortable there and I just have to make space for my luggage opening which is not much of an issue. The location is so convenient and can easily walk over to the shopping area for our dinner with many choices. We enjoyed our stay and there is also drinks vending machine on the level we stayed. Will definitely recommend it for it super convenient location :) btw is near to the Kumamoto castle too!

This hotel is located within a short walking distance from the Kumamoto station. From the JR bstation exit it is on the left, just beside the Bic Camera store next. There is also a streetcar/tram stop so near the hotel which you can use to explore the city touristy spots! Shopping is convenient as the Kumamoto AMU Plaza (see another Review) is 5-mins walk away. The lobby is quite spacious and I quite like the intimate setting and lighting. Check-in was fast and 3 lifts serve well with travellers + luggages. The room design is quite standard and we have requested for x2 single bed, the room size is respectable. Noted that they're still using the physical hard key and not the keycard type. Hottel provided some amenities and complimentary bottled water in the room, sufficient for us . The Hotel is very into Going Green, there will be no housekeeping within first 3-days unless requested upon. This may likely be the model moving forward, to cut wastages. We had our breakfast at the nearby Pronto. The Kitaoka Shrine is just about 400 metres nearby, opposite direction of JR station so we recommend to drop by if time permits. A good stay experience. J

The hotel location is just near by Kumamoto station. Also, there is one great shopping mall at the same building with this hotel, several good restaurants are located in this mall. Overall, this hotel is very convenient for both transportation and having the food. This hotel is highly recommended.
