I am deeply frustrated and disappointed by the service I received during my stay at this hotel, and I feel compelled to share my experience to warn others. We had booked this hotel for a 3-day stay, but during our first night, we received tragic news that my father-in-law had passed away in Chidambaram. We were devastated and needed to return to Cochin as soon as possible. My husband was emotionally drained and I didn’t want him to drive, so we approached the hotel receptionist to ask for help in arranging a driver. We thought he would be able to assist us, given the gravity of the situation. The receptionist assured us he would look into it and call us back. We returned to our room and started packing, expecting him to arrange for a driver. However, when we returned to the reception about 30 minutes later, the lights were off and the receptionist was sleeping. I had to wake him up and plead with him again. He then made a call to a driver and spoke to him in Malayalam, only to tell me the driver wasn’t available. He claimed to have tried other drivers but that they were all unavailable, and he suggested I try again the next morning. This was completely unacceptable, especially during such a critical time. Feeling completely let down, I decided to call a couple of travel agencies myself, and to my surprise, within minutes, two drivers were available and ready to assist us. We were able to get a driver who helped us get to Cochin without further delay. The lack of care or concern shown by the receptionist during our emergency was appalling. It felt like the hotel had no sense of humanity or empathy for their guests. Additionally, the condition of the hotel restaurant was equally disappointing. The restroom was completely clogged and had a terrible odor, making it impossible for us to eat there. Unfortunately, since it was already late and other restaurants were closed, we had no choice but to eat in the unpleasant environment. This hotel completely failed to provide even basic hospitality, let alone support during a family emergency. I will never forget how indifferent and unhelpful they were in our time of need. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, as it lacks not only basic customer service but also any semblance of compassion for its guests. I would rank this hotel zero for hospitality and will certainly not be returning.
