Ulasan Yuhang Hotel (Kunming South High-speed Railway Station)

Great location, near to Kunming South Railway Station. There are many eateries around. Thanks to the boss who provided free transport to & fro from the train station.

The worst hotel in many that I've ever stayed in China. In particular, the attitude of the owner (male) was the worst. I don't usually review on hotels very often, but I'm going to list two of the main reasons for this so that people who are considering this hotel won’t feel bad in the future. The first reason (still acceptable) The first thing that surprised me when I first entered the room was that the atmosphere of the actual room was very different from the pictures of the room on the online site. I understand that the photos on the reservation site are just images, but I still felt that they were too far from the reality. For reference, I attach a photos of the comparison. I booked a cozy queen room. Also, the bathroom is quite small and toilet is not Western-style, as shown in the photo. I think it's good for you to understand this point before considering it. The second reason (the worst part) The next thing I noticed was that the windows in the room didn't close completely. Since it faces the main street, you can hear the noise from outside even at night. It was also winter, so a breezing cold wind came into the room. I noticed this as soon as I entered the room, so I went to the lobby to check with the owner to see if the windows were going to close completely. He came to my room, checked the window, and then told me, "This is by design." When I asked if the other rooms were the same, he said, "All the same," and then said in a strong tone, "If you don't like it, you can cancel it, but you will only get half the price." When I was confused, he insisted on canceling and refused to leave my room. Shouting in Chinese that I didn't understand, he forcefully tried to take me to the lobby for the cancellation procedure. However, it was already 9 o'clock at night, so I had no choice but to stay at this hotel with nowhere else to go. I felt that the owner's attitude was most oppressive and discriminatory that I had ever experienced. If you've read this review, I recommend you to also read the negative reviews posted by others. I can see that there are people who, like me, have had scary experiences by the owner. To the hotel's credit, I felt that the hygiene aspect of this hotel was kind of worth the price.(at least no bed bug) But with this cleanliness in this price range, you can look for any number of others. Aside from that, the attitude of the owner of this hotel was too harsh. There seemed to be a lot of positive reviews on this site, but I hope that there will be fewer people who feel as uncomfortable as I do at this hotel in the future. To the owner I think you need to rethink how you behave as a person before hospitality as a service industry. I hope this review will be of some positive benefit to yourself and your hotel management in the future. Thank you.

The beds were very comfy. However, the rooms were very old school and not that clean - not because cleaning hadn’t gone through but because the rooms have lived. The hotel is also 25m by foot from the station (10m by car)

great value for money for short transit. The owners are all kind and you even got a free station pick up and drop off service.

Room is really affordable and clean, really close from Kunming South Station and next to a lot of restaurants

Cheap and cheerful. Perfect for a night or two before getting the train from Kunming south (Kunmingnam). There’s lots of shops and food stalls downstairs, which is great for picking up some snacks. The staff were friendly and helpful.

This area is pretty neat, I only booked to be close to the train station but there's a huge university town below with food stalls open late and soooo many food options. SQUAT TOILET. Just so you know, rooms only have squat toilets in a tiny bathroom, such that you have to shower while standing over the squat toilet. Which is fine by me, but certainly not everyone's favorite. Good enough for the price.

OK for a short stay. Easy to get to station and food options are plentiful.

Good location for one night. Hosts were friedly. Elevator was broken, which was a problem. Recommended for short stays.

The hotel entrance was a little difficult to find at first but then we managed to find it. The room is nice big and clean with everything you need. Practical if you have a train.
