Kai Wah Plaza Hotel

A highly recommended hotel. Its location is strategic, close to the subway station and within walking distance of Kunming Railway Station. There are restaurants around the hotel. The interior is not a new hotel, but it is very well maintained. Not all staff are fluent in English, but they still strive to provide good service. For the breakfast, the menu is varied and the taste is quite good. Especially for Muslims, each item on the menu has a tag indicating whether it's halal or not, which is very helpful in choosing the meal options.

We had an excellent stay at Kai Wah, with a few instances really worth mentioning. Firstly, we had a super early flight and reached the hotel at 5plus in the morning. We checked in and wonder if we are able to check in for the stay at such early hours. Without needing to ask, the service staff immediately arranged a room for us to check in, even though the typical check in time is 2pm onwards. They understood that we were tired from the flight and quickly make arrangements so that we can get some rest. This is an exceptional service that illustrates understanding and care for their customers. Secondly, upon checking into the room, we observed that the toilet bowl was a little dirty and called the reception. Immediately, a service staff named 李星Jeff Li, came to our room and made arrangements to offer us a free upgrade to a suite. However, as we prefer a room that is not situated at the corner, we declined. He then made other arrangements on the spot and offered us another room. He even helped us to transfer the luggages. We needed some advice for the trip and he willingly and patiently offered us advice and assistance. His friendliness and patience with us really made our stay very pleasant. His professionalism and care for his guests are commendable. Finally, when we checked out, the service staff also warmly helped us with the didi booking to the right place. My mum was even given a scarf as little present, which really made her day. Breakfast was really good, huge variety and quality was good too. Suggest to include breakfast in your booking.

Apart from the Wi-fi which was terrible for the entire duration of a week (doesn't make sense how this can't be solved very easily, especially if the hotel is making enough money being fully booked). Everything else was absolutely excellent! 👌🏻 The staff are beyond friendly, kind and helpful. They really go out of their way to help (except for making an effort to contact the WiFi providers). I was pleasantly surprised to find that I could do a lot of my business by having access to printing facilities within the Hotel. The swimming pool is quite nice and the staff member was really friendly, giving me a swimming cap when I didn't have. They brought me towels and water to drink. The hotel robot is always a great convenience when it comes to deliveries as it brings the delivery to your room. Breakfast is pretty good just like any top hotel. I usually repeat my stays here.

Superior customer service would appropriately describe this hotel! Although it is a bit dated (decor and technology wise, older TV, etc.) the rooms are spacious and the service is impeccable! Danny was extremely helpful during my stay! He speaks excellent English and was very patient and willing to help in anyway that he could! It would be very nice if this international hotel provided English movie and TV channels on their televisions as it was raining some of the days during my stay and I opted to stay indoors. Nice views of the city. Overall, you quickly learn why this hotel is highly recommended on trip! Enjoy!

I enjoyed staying at this hotel, which offers high quality service, convenient location and friendly stuff. I arrived a bit late, when the hotel cafe was about to close, but the restaurant manager (unfortunately I don’t know her name) nicely set up a table for me for dinner, and asked not to be in rush and order whatever I like. After she came to me asking if anything else needed, speaking English fluently. The room is quite spacious as for one person, comfy and clean. Easy to reach subway or bus stop, there’s Wanda shopping mall about 10 minutes away by car.Highly recommend this hotel, one of the best places I’ve ever accommodated to. Safe journeys, guys!
