If you want to have a peaceful and relaxing vacation, avoid this hotel at all costs. I stayed there in January 2023 with family and friends. We had already stayed at the Cristal Resort Hotel twice before and we decided to go back again because of the nice location and what used to be ’friendly’ staff. On our 5th night, before we went to bed I checked the door and all of the windows of our ECO bungalow to be sure they were completely locked and secure. In the morning, we woke up to discover that we had been robbed while my parents and I were asleep. The window from the bathroom was wide open and our phones, money (thousands) and 2 bags were gone. We immediately informed the hotel management about this but their only concern was why we had not put our money in the safe box. The answer is very simple- we usually use the safe box when we are out of the room, not while we were asleep. Beyond the fact that someone was in our room while we were asleep, imagine how worse things could have been had we woken up while the thief/thieves were still in the room. The hotel has a huge security problem and they know it very well. In order to open a closed sliding window they must have had a premeditated plan or system to be able to open it successfully from the outside... and not to have any security guards in that area at night is just outrageous. In hindsight I am pretty sure we were being observed. It had all been planned very well and they knew everything in order to succeed - who had the money of the group, where we were sleeping, everything. In the morning, we called the police and after they finally came, out of nowhere, one of the hotel staff called us to show us that they had found our backpacks without any money in them of course. We found our phones inside one of the backpacks without our SIM cards in them and after we switched them on we saw on the Steps App that our things had been stolen at 3 am in the morning and that the thief/thieves only took just 78 steps and stopped right near the fence of the hotel. The police was trying to play things down by saying that we were so lucky we got our phones back. A few hours later, I received a message from the hotel manager saying precisely this: --- I spoke with our broker and I checked our insurance. It covers things like cameras, phones and laptops but not money, because the issue of money is very complex. --- This is another reason that led us to believe that the hotel staff was involved. What an unbelievable coincidence! We only retrieved the things that were not covered by their insurance- our phones. On top of that, they also had the appalling audacity to say that we needed to wait for the police investigation as they needed to find out whether this had happened for real or not, because according to them, nothing actually proved that somebody had robbed us and that we could have orchestrated the whole thing ourselves...Great! They were also putting pressure on us to stop this scandal because

I stayed at this hotel for 5 days. The hotel is just as it looks in the pictures, nice and the outside areas are well maintained. The rooms, are very small and quite damp due to the integrated shower. The pillows are damp, even ours were mouldy (we had them changed). The mosquito nets have holes in them (they were replaced with new ones) and the toilet has no ventilation. The safe box did not work and we were never able to use it. There are no amenities, they offer the same body soap and shampoo, no body lotion. The food in the restaurant is VERY mediocre and the staff speaks very little English, so it is very difficult to place an order with any intolerance or personal request (they almost never took it into account and brought the dish as it was on the menu, we ended up talking to the chef to clarify our intolerances), but in the end, for guests with any kind of intolerance/allergy, I would NOT recommend this hotel. The service in the restaurant is very slow, it took us about an hour and a half to dine, ordering only one drink and one dish per person. The glasses in the restaurant are made of plastic and very old. We do not recommend ordering breakfast to take away (breakfast box), we requested it the day of check out for 5:30am and it was not prepared, so we had to leave the hotel WITHOUT breakfast and without ANY solution, only an apology, even having paid for it as we had half board. To sum up, very poorly managed hotel with maintenance and hygiene/cleaning work to be done in order to meet the expectations of a 3 star hotel. We will recommend our travel agency to stop working with this hotel.

This really is a wonderful place everything you need to relax. Small place, just 12 rooms, perfectly formed! Superb outlook, great bungalow accommodation, fabulous team of well trained locals led by one of the coolest and most efficient guys I have come across. Roger the Rasta is on it and you wouldn't even know it. Great choice of food and reasonably priced. Plenty of varieties of drinks and if you want something specific for your stay Roger and his team will oblige. Nothing seems too much. My daughters had a number of spa treatments as did some of the other guests who were there and all came back glowing. There were some low key, very entertaining events put on that got all guests hooked. Would definitely like to return soon!

The ocean view from our room at S&S Hotel was absolutely breathtaking. We loved waking up to the sight of the sparkling sea every morning, staffs are the epitome of professionalism and hospitality. They went out of their way to ensure that every moment of our stay was perfect and unforgettable,bar is the perfect place to unwind after a long day of exploring since we were also doing some tours and activities around the island, The cozy atmosphere and friendly staff made us feel right at home, restaurant is a culinary delight. From breakfast to dinner, every meal was a feast for the senses and it's always fresh food, juice even fruits fresh and sweet 😋, swimming pool is a true oasis. We loved taking a dip and cooling off while enjoying the stunning views of the surrounding landscape, this was like living a premium dream ❤️.

We booked four bungalows at Kilimani Kwetu based on reviews and the amenities/photos listed online by the hotel. I'm sorry to say that this place must have gone downhill quickly. There was only a barebones staff, the beach cafe was closed, there was no music, and internet service was almost non-existant. The food was very good, but the cook worked alone, so lunch took two hours to prepare. After that first lunch we started eating at the hotel next door where we could pay with a credit card. ”Cashless payments” were promised, but not available, and the nearest ATM was in Paje, about a 45-minute walk along the beach. We also experienced a theft - the door to one of our bungalows was just pushed in, and the safe was taken along with a suitcase and valuables. The small safe was just sitting on a shelf ... only one of the four bungalows had a safe that was bolted to the wall/shelf. There is supposedly ”security” at night, but no one was on site while we were away at dinner. We were already very dissatisfied with the place we chose for our three-night stay, but the theft was the final blow, and absolutely ruined our vacation.

we arrived at Jambiani White Sands by taxi, as soon as we arrived the hotel staff came to collect our bags and took us to the hall (in perfect bungalow style) they sat us down and offered us a welcome drink, a fruit smoothie fresh. after which they explained the place to us and took us to our room. the place is wonderful, bungalows on the very fine white beach, the sea a little green a little blue and blue and you can see from the window it is one step away from the rooms really on the beach like in the films. The staff is very kind, they make you feel at home, they explain all the secrets of Zanzibar and their territory. we also did some excursions recommended by Joka who guided us through the local wonders. The excursions are highly recommended, they take you step by step to the places you want to go, explaining everything and making you experience this wonderful country. The restaurant inside the structure is also highly recommended, with very fresh peece cooked on the spot. truly a paradise Thanks to joka mohamed and ibra for the experience you gave us siamo arrivati al Jambiani White Sands in taxi, appena arrivati il personale dell'albergo è venuto a ritirare pe nostre valige e ci hanno portati nella hall (in perfetto stile bungalow) li ci hanno fatto sedere e offerto un drink di benvenuto un frullato di frutta fresca. dopodiche ci hanno spiegato il posto e portati alla nostra stanza. il luogo è meraviglioso, bungalow sulla spiaggia bianca finissima, il mare un pó verde un pó azzuro e blu e si vede dalla finestra è a un passo dalle camere veramente sulla spiaggia come nei film. Lo staff è gentilissimo, ti fanno sentire a casa, ti spiegano tutti i segreti di Zanzibar e del loro territorio. abbiamo fatto anche delle escursioni consigliate da Joka che ci ha guidato nelle meraviglie locali. consigliatissime le escursioni, vi accompgnano passo a passo nei luoghi dove volete andare, spiegandovi tutto e facendovi vivere questo paese meraviglioso. consigliatissimo anche il ristorante all'interno della struttura, il peece freschissimo cucinato al momento. veramente un paradiso. Grazie a Joka, Mohamed e Ibra per l’esperienza che ci avete fatto vivere
