Communication was effortless as all staff members spoke excellent English. The location is truly unbeatable; Yasaka Shrine (under a 5-minute walk), Hokanji Temple (10-minute walk), and Kodai-ji Temple are all within easy walking distance. There are also many charming little restaurants in the vicinity. Though close to the main shopping district, I appreciated the peaceful and relaxed ambiance, a welcome contrast to the busier commercial areas. However, the hotel's facilities aren't extensive, especially considering the price point. The bedding was spotless, and the breakfast was excellent.

The location is superb, just a stone's throw from Ninen-zaka and Sannen-zaka. It's perfect for evening strolls and photos, as it's less crowded and the views are stunning. The room itself was spotless, though the facilities felt a little dated. Overall, I was very happy with my stay and would definitely recommend it.

Banda Down the beat hotel ever. Traditional interior and breakfast truly are the most marvelous experience you can ever wish for. The stuff is very kind and helpful. Everyone should stay in a Ryokan at least once in their lives.

The hotel's location isn't ideal, and the rest of the experience was quite mediocre. I wouldn't recommend it.

Highly recommended. 1. The breakfasts are amazing. Looked forward to it every morning during the trip. 2. The room we booked includes 2 beds and 2 futons, I like that combination, suitable for the elderly who may have problems sleeping on the floor. My kids also said the futon is super comfy. 3. The location is very convenient too, within walking distance to many places of interest. 4. If you prefer to have no room service during the stay, you can also opt out of room service, and the hotel will gift you a box of cookies as a replacement for that option. I like that. 5. We booked a Kaiseiki dinner one day in advance during our stay, a bit expensive, but the experience was amazing, and we had the entire restaurant for ourselves for that dinner. But, I won't recommend booking all dinners (with the room) though, there are a lot of good meal options around the area. So definitely should explore more; must try more options in Gion as there are many amazing Japanese places within walking distance. Overall a really good experience. Thank you.

This place, where we experienced traditional Japanese culture and had a wonderful time thanks to its great location and easy access to all the attractions, and the friendly and very helpful staff, will be my first stop if I go back to Kyoto.

It was clean, the breakfast was delicious, and it was enjoyable. They even called a taxi for me at the end, which was convenient and allowed me to arrive on time.

The hotel rooms are generally too small and compact. There is a local cemetery behind it. It is not recommended to stay there. It is also difficult to find. It is located in a small alley with poor signage. It is not recommended to stay there.

Very good experience! At first, I chose the Hana Ryokan to experience the Japanese tradition, and it didn't disappoint. The tatami room is large and clean, the bedding is very comfortable, and the sleep is very comfortable. Although it is winter, the air conditioning in the room is great, and you won't feel cold sleeping directly on the tatami. The toilet and shower are separate, both are very clean, and the Japanese-style bathroom is also unique. There is plenty of hot water, but it took a little time to figure out the shower when I debugged it at the beginning. The location of the hotel is very good. It takes only three minutes to walk to Yasaka Shrine, less than 20 minutes to walk to the main street of Kawaramachi, and about 20 minutes to Kiyomizu Temple. There are a lot of food and shopping on the way, which will not make people feel tired of rushing. It is just that eating and shopping will indefinitely extend the time to the destination haha. Kyoto is beautiful. I was very happy every day in Kyoto. After the daytime tour experience, returning to the hotel is a new enjoyment. The location is first-rate, very close to Yasaka, Shimizu and other places, and you can learn more about geisha, 30 meters away from the hotel in the alley on the side. The room is generally livable, neither good nor bad, livable, convenient to go anywhere, and there are many Michelin restaurants nearby.

It was beyond expectation. It was great because we stayed in the Huale Suite with 2 adults and 1 child. It was spacious enough. The hotel service was good. It was very close to Kiyomizu Temple and it only took more than 10 minutes to walk. There were beautiful scenery along the way.
