Hotel berhampiran TCS Pop-Up Glamping, Laax

Well, given some of the negative reviews and a mistake in our booking, I would say my expectations were rather low. But I’m happy to report that the hotel was really very nice, very clean, and all the staff members that we interacted with were very professional, pleasant and kind. We were originally booked into a 3.5 room apartment, but were changed to a connecting room in the hotel due to a booking error. While I can’t comment on the apartments, the hotel is really nice, with spacious rooms and comfortable beds. The bathroom does have limited privacy, so if that’s important for you, keep it in mind. The breakfast was good quality, with a nice selection of normal breakfast items. You can also order egg dishes if you wish, and I would say that the eggs are actually cooked properly. The location of the hotel is perfect for skiing/snowboarding. From our room we could see the gondola and the Wonderland ski area for kids. Because the hotel is in the Stenna building, there is a Coop grocery store in the same building, which was super nice to grab something from the store without even having to put on our coats. The spa was also really nice, with different steam room options. The only bit I didn’t love was the use of so many air fresheners in the hallway. Maybe just my taste, but I found it a bit strong. I could really recommend The Hide if you want to stay in Flims. The location is perfect, the rooms are clean and the staff are friendly.

Wir waren spontan ins Bündnerland gereist und anstelle ein Hotel via Internet zu reservieren sind wir direkt beim Hotel vorgefahren und haben nach einem freien Zimmer gefragt. Auf der Homepage vom Hotel stand, dass der Preis, wenn man direkt auf ihrer Homepage bucht ggü. anderen Plattformen um 5% tiefer ist. Wir haben ein Zimmer bekommen. Alles war in bester Ordnung. Gestaunt haben wir dann beim auschecken, als auf der Rechnung kein Rabatt von 5% vermerkt war. Auf mein nachfragen hin erklärte der Herr, dass man den Rabatt nur bekomme wenn man direkt bei ihnen auf der Homepage buche anstelle z.B. bei Booking.com. Aber das haben wir ja gemacht, wir haben persönlich vor Ort nach einem Zimmer gefragt ohne dass dem Hotelier einen Teil des Zimmerpreises einem Vermittler zahlen musste. Er konnte mir keine Erklärung abgeben, was der Unterschied sein soll, wenn ich via hoteleigener Homepage reserviere bzw. direkt an der Rezeption nach einem freien Zimmer frage. Weil ich keine Lust hatte endlos zu diskutieren und mir meine Ferien vermiesen zu lassen, bezahlte ich den höheren Tarif wie er bei Booking.com war. Für uns ist klar, dieses Hotel werden wir nie mehr besuchen. Guter Service und fair gegenüber den Gästen sein ist etwas ganz anderes.

Classic, Swiss hotel with a wonderful garden for breakfast, breathtaking views on the local mountains, and calming wellness area. The rooms could use a modernization however they are spacious and provide all needed amenities for a weekend getaway. Restaurant was delicious but the star of the show was the bartender, Alex I believe. He was wonderful and brought us so many wonderful creations. The only downside was that it felt like we came during a time with a lot of staff changes as in the restaurant service felt slightly confused. Everything turned out well in the end but there were 1-2 moments which could have been avoided with good communication. All in all, beautiful location, wonderful cocktails and wine, atmosphere very relaxing. I would recommend Hotel Adula for a weekend getaway in the Alps, especially as a couple.

Stayed here for one night in between trips on the Bernina Express and the Glacier Express. Whilst surrounded by spectacular mountains, the hotel is situated in a soulless commercial area about 2 minutes west of central Chur by train. There is half hourly train service to / from the centre of Chur (which I found similarly lacking in charm). Finding the entrance to the hotel on arrival at Chur West was not that easy, and improved signage from the station would be helpful for first time visitors. If you are travelling with luggage expect a fair walk uphill and some steps along the way. The adjacent shopping centre looked functional enough albeit that, like 99% of businesses in Switzerland, it was closed on our arrival early on a Saturday evening and all day on the Sunday. The hotel itself occupies the first 9 floors of a tower block which I think may have had residential properties or offices above it. The small lobby area was pleasant enough and our check in was smooth, courteous and polite. The room itself was clean and simply furnished, and it offered a fridge, a coffee maker, plenty of power sockets and a decent shower. Breakfast offered a good variety of items but sometimes in modest quantities, probably reflecting the fact that we seemed to be the only guests dining there on the Sunday morning. Some items were sadly of poor quality (the croissants had a dreadfully fatty taste rather than a buttery flavour) and some were poorly prepared (fleshy, fatty bacon is most undesirable). Whilst it was included in our room rate, the walk in cost of breakfast seemed eye-wateringly high given the shortcomings we experienced. Overall, as I’m unlikely to return to Chur I’d be unlikely to stay here again. If I knew anyone visiting the city I’d be unlikely however to recommend the hotel based on my experience which was nothing more than average.

A clean and basic hotel. Which is quite easy to reach from the train station via a very efficient bus/tram ( runs every 10 minutes, catch the red one to get to the old town/station). The man on reception was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Gave us our welcome drinks. Sadly the only food on offer was frozen pizza ( not his fault) so we ended up having Maccas next door which is not my favourite food. I am sure there were other nearby choices but it was getting late and this was a stop between 2 big train journeys so we didn't want to go far. Comfortable bed and good shower. Large balcony with views to the mountains behind the hotel. Quiet. Very weird that there was only 1 power point! In this day and age that is very poor as everything you use needs charging. If there was another power point it was impossible to find. Breakfast had a reasonable range of choices.
