View from the balcony is amazing

The best welcoming I had in the last years . Great room and views with a lovely swimming pool . The breakfast is good but I would recommend to improve the juices machine . I will definitely return to this great hotel .

The view is amazing and the breakfast is great. The staffs are very nice. I want to come back soon

Der Empfang war anfangs nicht sehr freundlich und es wurde uns mitgeteilt, dass wir eigentlich nicht mehr einchecken können. Check-in ist laut Rezeption bis 17 Uhr möglich. Laut Trip.com bis 21 Uhr. Wir reisten um 19 Uhr an. Der Rezeptionist am Tag unserer Abreise war sehr freundlich und gab uns ein Pflaster auf Nachfrage. Leider wusste er nichts davon, dass Pilger, die sich auf dem Weg nach Santiago befinden von der Touristen-Steuer befreit sind. Die Lage ist wunderschön grün und ruhig. Die Luft auf dem Hügel sehr klar. Die Ausstattung ist sehr gut und die Zimmer modernisiert.

No está en el centro, pero a cambio consigues tranquilidad y unas maravillosas vistas. Las habitaciones son amplias , tienen terraza y puedes disfrutar de unas maravillosas puestas de sol.

Todo perfecto! Un 10!

位置絕佳，在一個半山腰上。裏波爾圖一個小時車程，價格還非常便宜！適合一家人或者一個人安靜下來與自然融合 來的時候下雨天，雨霧綿延，遠處還有鄉村氣息的雞鳴狗叫，很治癒。後面太陽出來，整個酒店像在仙界，被雲層隔絕。

Nos quedamos solo una noche, entrando tarde y saliendo muy temprano por la mañana. La habitación era correcta, limpia y cómoda con un balcón con muy buenas vistas. Queremos señalar la atención de la persona que estaba en recepción ( siento no saber su nombre), un chico con gafas que fue muy amable.

I recommend this hotel with all my heart. Situated atop a scenic hill and former abode of a 15th century hermit Saint you overlook a quaint small villiage interspersed with serene rolling fields, small forests and in the distance the Atlantic Ocean as a backdrop. Twenty feet higher on the actual top one will find a small overlook cafe, lovely chapel and a boutique radio station in the form of a Dutch windmill. This medium sized terraced hotel is classy, modern, well appointed, and the staff has been the most helpful in our year journey to date. Very reasonably priced for the value our one night refuge from a nearby resort disaster turned into 3 nights and a wish for longer. The restaurant offers a decent breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner service. Porto is just south and rather than driving/parking nightmare took a €10 cab to the train station and 50 minutes later, on the red line, found us transferring to the yellow line to the old Town river area 10 minutes later. Cost of train/metro 24 hr pass was €7/person.

Although a little dated in terms of the décor, this hotel more than makes up for that with its great views of the surrounding countryside; the friendliness of the staff; the food (particularly the evening menu) and very fair pricing. Didn’t manage a dip in the pool myself, but my pals gave it the thumbs up…and if you fancy a game of snooker, that’s available too. All in all, there’s nothing obvious I could fault with this picturesque hotel.

This hotel was part of the earlier state-owned "Estalagem" (hostel, Inn) and potentially firstly opened in the 1970 still during Salazar or shortly later? At least this place is from times Portugal was trying to pioneer turism business (by state). Yes the location with the views is great - but that's unfortunately all (free views you'll have from the Sao Felix church as well). Many of such historic Estalagems have been closed down in recent years mainly because the new owners (after state has left the tourism business and e.g. Pousadas to Pestana) didn't want to invest and the places showed their age. So the left over Estalagems were available for last 2 centuries around 40-50€/night! Tradionally in Portugal breakfast is included and al of the Estalagems has special views and perks (like a pool). However after the pandemic the management of this place thinks rates around 100-150€ are reasonable for the same old rooms. Yes, some parts of the bathroom and maybe the AC seem to be renewed (not the hairdryer e.g.!!), but the first mistake is done at the reception (behind the desk visible to all guest as welcome). The remaining decor in the rooms is worne (not from 1975 but maybe 1995), the carpets are completely worn, though are minibar, cupboards etc. Building is in poor shape, Pools are historice Breakfast was below average and remember that -since 2023 - the comunal city want a direct contribution from all guests per day 1,5€, which is a joke: most of the streets are still noisy cobblestones - this money does direclty to wrong channels! I'd recommend not even to think any second to stay in this place except you want to invest your valued money in a truely historic experience which will at the end be a disappointment!

The hotel inside and out was excellent the staff from the cleaner to the front deck were brilliant a credit to the hotel. For use the only let down was the restaurant the food was good but over priced if you go down into town find a nice restaurant it is half the price and its the same standard of food if you like a wine or beer its definitely cheaper.
