We had a wonderful holiday , staying at the Silberhorn hotel for 14 nights. The staff at the hotel in the restaurant were incredibly welcoming , friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We enjoyed the fantastic breakfast each morning and the delicious evening buffet with such a varied choice. We would like to thank the service staff and cooks Monika, Katarina, Vasco, Maslina and Manwell for their welcoming smiles, their customer service ,commitment and professionalism which was impressive ”A dedicated team ” The room was immaculate and very comfortable. We loved the location close to the railway station and for all the major attractions. The only negative but constructive feedback was the lounge area in the evening had limited lighting and the bar was not open for drinks and teas /coffees , which would have been an added bonus to relax after the evening meal and offered opportunity to socialise with other guests.

I had the most beautiful view I have ever seen from my room. Large private balcony, delicious breakfast, hot sauna, free wine and cheese tasting, and close to the train. Amazing, friendly, and kind staff. Each morning at breakfast the owner will ask your plans for the day and give you tips. The only cons I can think of were a thin mattress and the two large hills you have to walk up each morning to get to the train. However, there is a taxi you can book through the hotel to mitigate this. The view, value, and service at this hotel is worth it.

We traveled to Murren from Luzern and wow, what a place. The view from our balcony was jaw dropping beautiful. We took advantage of the pool, sauna, and relaxing room which were all wonderful. The robes in the room made it easy to pop over to the pool. The room was good size with the most wonderful door/windows. Where else can you look at the Alps while sitting on the john (lol). The staff were very welcoming and helpful including bar service. Also had delicious buffet breakfast and one dinner that was great. I even discovered my lost water bottle at the front desk after leaving it in the relaxing room. I can highly recommend airtime paragliding while you are in Murren - it was wonderful.

PPengguna TetamuI love this place and can’t recommend it enough. This is the second time I stayed— once last summer for 3 days and then for over a week now, in June 2024 (solo both times). I needed a bit of a break from life and unplug, and the kindness and hospitality of the staff made my stay feel like a home away from home. If you feel hesitant about booking due to lack of amenities like fridge or microwave in rooms, I can assure you it’s not an issue nor burden. Again, I stayed here for 8 days and was perfectly fine and able without either! I didn’t even need them. I also left very early before breakfast (crack of dawn) and the staff was so kind to pack me a breakfast and even some sandwiches. I hadn’t even asked! The home away from home feeling here is unmatched.

PPengguna TetamuOur room was opposite the lift, room 208 but we're fine it as not many human traffic movements heard during our stay. Thanks to the hotel arrangement for the room facing the mountains and it was phenomenal and picturesque. Memorable! One thing to note that the door at the balcony was a bit at the loose end, that you have to push really hard to lock it. It was super chilly in the evening, sometimes the warmer works but sometimes it doesn't, in the event if the temperature outside drop to below -10°, the room will be super cold and you have to rely on the blankets to keep you warm instead. Overall, the room, free WIFI, breakfast and public facilities did meet our expectation. The wellness area on the other hand, is a bit over-crowded in the evening and there were no signs of free towel anywhere. I'd figure out myself that the towels are available in each of the compartment in the wellness area as long as there are no other belongings from guests. There's a small playground right in front of the hotel, had some fun with my kid playing snow and slide.

We were woken at 5am to the sound of dripping water above our heads which meant it ruined our day of hiking. The dripping persisted for 2hrs. The worst part was they told you which table you had to sit at, at breakfast. They seemed to put people they may have considered less desirable away from the window at the back. the bathroom stinks of a cross between an old peoples home and a hospital, you get a tiny sachet of shampoo and body wash so bring your own. The front desk lady is rude and abrasive and the old man managing the breakfast shouted at people to not touch the food when the breakfast is a buffet. The bedroom smelt of sweat. The rooms were dingy and none of the lights work in the room or the bathroom. Awful place. Stay anywhere but here.

We had room 529, on the top floor, south-facing with great views of both the high mountains and the town. The balcony was very small but for one night and facing the right direction it was fine. The room was very nice and cosy. The location is very good – right in the centre opposite the train station so it is very practical. Breakfast was fine, although the restaurant is a bit big. We had read some of the bad reviews about the hotel under new ownership and particularly about the restaurant. We didn't try the restaurant so can't say anything about it but we had no problems with the staff during check-in or anything else. No problems for us, and all in all a positive experience.

PPengguna TetamuGreat location for a ski holiday and base for watching the World Cup races in Wengen. We stayed in a spacious family room for 2 adults and one child. Very clean, warm, lots of hot water and good wardrobe space. Hairdryer was good and plenty of electric sockets for charging. Breakfast was great with cereals, birchermüsli, cheese, bread, fruit, eggs, croissants etc. Staff were very friendly and attentive. We chose the half board option with a 3 course meal in the evening. Food was delicious and large portions after big ski days. Vegetarian and children were catered for. Excellent pasta dishes and steaks. Good wine list too. Waiters were very attentive and service was quick. Hotel is in a superb location. 3 minutes from the Stechelberg cable car, 7 minutes walk from train station and right beside the funicular so ski in / ski out. We hired a sleigh from the cable car station to transport our luggage to the hotel. 20 CHF deposit. Easy access to their boot room. Thank you for a lovely stay!

It is one of very few hotels that has managed to keep the luxury and allure throughout many years. They adhere to a very high standard on every level. For many it might feel antiquated, but if you're looking for something that is truly unique, that has stood the test of time and is not just another generic modern day luxury hotel, this is the place to be. There's not many hotels where you can sit in a lounge by a warm log fire, playing a board game while a pianist is playing. It's a hotel that is filled with history, warmth and kindness.
