Château de la Galissonnière

Stayed here for one night as we toured the loire as a part of a self planned wine tour of France. We came to the area for Muscadet, Le Pallet is the home of Muscadet. I have so many good things to say about this place and it really exceeded our expectations. Our room was up our own private steps into the loft area. The room was very clean, bed and sheets comfortable and soft. Water pressure and shower was fantastic. It felt like a home away from home. Also, the hospitality was great. We were greeted and shown to our room, asked what time we'd like breakfast and asked if there was any tours we wanted to do. The grounds are one large Chateau dating back 100s of years. The history was facinating. Breakfast was great for the drive ahead, fresh pastries, bread, yoghurts, fresh orange juice and tea and coffee. The property also produce Muscadet, 4 types infact. The winery was run the the hotel manager's uncle who opened up the tasting room for us the next morning. We left with a few very good cases of wine. In particular we loved 'Le Pallet Jubilation', a bottle produced with the best grapes of the best wineries in Le Pallet, a local co-operative. This was the cheapest hotel on our trip, but it exceeded all expectations, and I'd go out of my way to stay here again.
