I reserved this room online for my mother-in-law. She was traveling and needed a room. I paid for the room online. When she reached the hotel, she was told that she would need to pay an additional $100 deposit. She called me, as I was the one with the credit card. I was willing to pay the additional $100 fee, on top of the amount already paid for the room. The attendant said that he could not take my card over the phone. He said that the card needed to be in my mother-in-law's name, as she was the one staying in the room. Or I had to show up at the property with my card and driver's license in order to pay the additional deposit. I stated I lived in a completely different state and would not be able to appear in person. He said it was standard practice for all hotels in the area to only accept payment in person.
My mother-in-law walked across the street to a Super 8 and I was able to pay for that room over the phone, with no additional deposit, at a discount after that attendant heard what we'd been through.
This was one of the worst experiences with a hotel I have ever had. I would not only not recommend this hotel to anyone, I would go out of my way to share my experience and discourage ANYONE from staying here.
