Hôtel le Labrador 1971

The menu looked really promising for a New Year’s Eve meal. €175 a head drinks not included. Unfortunately every course did not hit the mark to a point where it became laughable. Gingernuts and foiegras. No seasoning at all. Did not work. Sea bass in a citrus sauce. Whilst the fish was well cooked the sauce and foam did not fit. Then pigeon in chocolate sauce with lumpy mash and kale. Well cooked pigeon but the combinations did not work. The cheese course was awful. A creamy vacherin mousse with a reblochon waifer was almost universally left by most diners after a small spooonful. Then the desert of raspberries and cream with pink sparkling wine poured over was just unnecessary - the chef doesn’t seem to know what flavours and textures go together. Service - there were not enough waiters and it was neglectful. This was 6 courses and it took almost 4 hrs to serve. The worst meal for the money I’ve ever paid for. Over 1400 euros with an aperitif and 2 bottles of wine (cheaper ones and satisfactory). This is not fine dining.

Probably the best hotel in Les Gets. We have stayed at the Labrador Residence before when it was part of the hotel but this is the first time in the main hotel. We have stayed at another hotel in Les Gets but unfortunately that has lost its edge. The rooms are a good size modern bathroom and traditional character in bedroom area. The staff here are excellent friendly and helpful unlike our previous hotel where staff left us waiting 25 minutes to order a drink despite three of them being at the bar. The facilities are exceptional with an indoor pool, exercise equipment and sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. In the evening you can swim outside heated outdoor pool. They have an excellent chef who produces excellent selection of food, a couple of the best fish dishes I have ever tasted. The meals at the top end restaurant quality. I would have no hesitation recommending this hotel with its friendly homely ambiance. It’s a short walk to chair lift or bus stops 50 metres from hotel to catch free bus. If you’re are looking for somewhere to stay in Les Gets even if you are a non-skier this is the place to be without a doubt. My wife said it was the best ski holiday she has ever had.

Le Labrador has just reopened under new ownership. We had a really comfortable stay and the staff all worked hard to make sure that we were well looked-after. The location is perfect, tucked in the mountains of the Portes de Soleil and in the pretty village of Les Gets. The meals were generous and tasty, the pool area clean and comfortable and the rooms spotless and well-equipped. I slept like a baby and hope to return before too long.

Hôtel idéalement situé à 5mn des pistes à pied. Piscine extérieure très agréable mais l’ensemble spa intérieur mérite une importante rénovation. Chambre petite et la encore une rénovation s’impose (hors salle de bain et toilettes qui sont au goût du jour). Repas très bon et une mention spéciale pour tt le personnel en salle qui est très agréable, souriant et prévenant. Étonnant dans un 4* que l’on permette aux chiens de s’asseoir au restaurant sur les fauteuils, pattes sur la table … Salon bar spacieux et très agreable avec vue sur la piscine et magnifique cheminée. Personnel à l’accueil peu souriant, peu ou pas de bonjour et ne demandant même pas au moment du paiement si tt s’est bien passé… Pour finir trop de pub pour les autres établissements du propriétaire, set detable publicitaire en plastique au petit déjeuner, annonces immo dans l’entrée, marque de vêtements dispersées partout. Au final un peu déçu pour un 4*

Le charme d’un hotel vieillissant. Les chambres / salles de bains mériteraient un coup de jeune mais tout est propre et en bon état. Les chambres sont d’une taille satisfaisante et avec des rangements Très belle vue du balcon Les piscines sont bien et le spa (hors de l’hôtel) offre une très belle expérience Le personnel est charmant et aux petits soins (le propriétaire est également souvent la et a un mot sympathique pour tout le monde) La restauration (brunch) est de qualité

Très bel hôtel avec un accueil très chaleureux. Ce fut notre 3eme visite et à chaque fois nous sommes enchantés. Magnifiques extérieurs! Le personnel est aux petits soins toujours de très bons conseils (sur les activités et les restaurants aux Gets). Le gérant est très bienveillant.
