My 17 yo grandson and I stayed at this hotel 6/9-12. I have stayed at Fairfield Inns for years and never had a bad experience until this one. First, we were booked into a handicap accessible room, with no reason given as I didn’t request that. So, no bathtub and I prefer taking baths. Then, when the air conditioner cycled on, it sounded like a jet engine. I went to the front desk and requested to be moved, but no suitable rooms were available. The desk clerk filled out a maintenance form and said the maintenance man would fix this the next day. In the meantime, he suggested we turn off the air conditioner and sleep with the window open “as it was going to be a mild night” This is what we did as fortunately it wasn’t too hot that day. Then when we tried to connect to the hotel WiFi network, it showed we were connected but neither of our phones, lap top or IPad would connect as it kept giving us message it was “an unsecured network “. We tried to call the front desk but the room phone didn’t work. My grandson went the front desk and the clerk gave him number to hotel to call on our cell phones if we needed anything and said maybe internet connection was poor due to location of our room. Then, we had to be careful flushing the toilet as the handle was so loose. We also reported this. We come back the next day after being gone, the air conditioner is still not fixed, the phone is , handle on toilet may have been tightened but beds aren’t made up, I had to go down to get more towels as our original ones had been used to wipe up water on bathroom floor from the shower (this is a walk in shower so even with bath mat, water on the floor). We sleep a 2nd night with the window open. The desk clerk this night did contact manager and get $100 credit on our original bill of $761 for 3 nights. Still unable to connect any device to internet. Come back after being gone next day, air conditioner still not fixed. We sleep with windows open a 3rd night. Beds are made, trash emptied. Women’s restroom by the pool out of order, fitness room closed. When we check out the morning of the 12th, the desk clerk mentions the maintenance man never came in at all. We didn’t try a different hotel as there was a large baseball tournament in town, an Elks gathering, etc., and I’d tried at least 3 hotels before getting reservations at this one. I have upcoming reservations on 2 occasions at a Fairfield Inn. Am certainly hoping this was a one time fiasco.
