Hotel 3 Bintang di Liege

Hotel de la Couronne Liege is right in front of Gare de Liege Guillemins and just next to the Flixbus stop, so if you're just dropping by Liege, the location is perfect. There's a Carrefour Express next door and a Burger King. Gare de Liege Guillemins and the hotel are somewhat far from the museums and historical locations but the city area/Liege is so small and navigable that it's not a big deal. Couronne hotel is one of those rare European boutique hotels that still maintain comfortably sized rooms. Rooms at this price range are often quite small (even in newer European and Asian 3-star hotels) so that's a plus. Couronne is no frills (no coffee, tea, minibar, etc) but the beds and bath are clean and comfortable. Plus, there's a nice airy salon on the first floor where those staying at the hotel can sit and lounge around. There are plenty of fry-ups, a great Japanese restaurant (Nagoya), and an Aldi close by. I had a bad allergy on my second night and the staff at 1 am were helpful despite my limited French. I'm not the best at picking hotels, but Hotel de la Couronne was a good choice for my two nights.

The hotel has a good location for people that want to travel to visit the city. We have arrived there on the 29th of September, at around 19:30. If you stay more than 1 night, is certainly not worth it. There is no air conditioning in the room and you cannot even open the window. I am always sleeping with the window open, so I felt suffocated by the hot temperature in the room. I have arrived there, and the receptionist was talking on her personal phone, with the headphones in the ears. When we wanted to do the check in, she seemed annoyed. She gave us the key from the room and than I have asked her some information about the parking. Her answer was not helpful at all. However, that was not the problem, but the manner she said it. I was talking in French, than she starts in English. She made us feel like we are so stupid, like how is it possible to not understand how the parking system works? Later, I go again there to buy some water, I say “good evening”, she said nothing. I want to pay, and while talking on the phone she is like “hah, 5€”. The other staff was helpful and nice, but the first lady we met, she really disappointed us and changed completely our opinion about the hospitality in this hotel. If she hates her job that much, why not looking for another one? Furthermore, when going to the breakfast, most of the food was gone. There were no more pistolets and we asked the breakfast lady if she still had. Unfortunately she said that they are finished, but she can send someone to buy more, without any problem. We refused, because we now it is not her fault and we didn t want to give them more work than they have. *** the breakfast lady was the nicest (she was dressed in blue and had glasses) - she really deseves 5 stars The blond receptionist guy - always smiling and ready to help :)

The hotel is very quiet, good position. In view of the previous comment I'm glad we refused the room behind the llft & went instead to 306 at the end of the corridor. The staff are friendly & helpful & breakfast is fresh & varied. But the room ! Clearly the designer has never spent a night in it. Drab colours, black furniture & a dog's-mess-brown sash across the beds. The open bathroom may not be to everyone's taste ( it wasn't to ours ). The reading lights are recessed over a wide wooden ledge & just not strong enough to read in bed. The light switches are difficult to get at under the ledge. For those who like to shave, illumination is only available on forehead & the tip of the nose : the rest is in shadow. Possibly the toughest challenge was blocking the water in the basin : there is no plug. Perhaps there is, in the elaborate high-tech tap fitment. If so, neither reception nor housekeeping, both appealed to, knew anything about it. Finally shoved a hand -towel into the plughole, just like the bad old days in Eastern Europe. Take your own

You can see the hotel once you step out from the train station. The hotel is a bit dated, but when you enter the room, you have everything you need. The bed is very comfortable, bathroom is very clean. They even have a luggage holder in the room. The Old town is a bit far from the train station, you can easily get a bus. If you walk to the Old town, it is a easy walk and you can also explore the city. The hotel has a restaurant, very popular, food is good as well.

2 overnachtingen geboekt met een vivabox, bij aankomst vriendelijk ontvangen, Maar ontbijt serveren wij niet meer meneer, ook geen eten meer...maar drink deze avond iets in de bar ipv een ontbijt...ja hallo wat een kompensatie...dan kamer op 2de verdiep meneer....lift werkt niet...hupla...eens op de kamer ,komt binnen stinkt er muf,...gewoon witte muren een mooi opgedekt bed en een kleine tv aan de muur , in de nachtlampjes zaten zelf geen lampen in!!° Wij naar beneden om van ons oren te maken en wij ons geld of bon terug wilden , kregen wij het antwoord ik geef het door aan de directie, ik zeg no way geef ons het nummer en ik bel naar hen ,amai de vriendelijke dame was plots een heel ander mens ,roepen tieren en ons uitmaken tot en met ,ik zei ok ik bel de politie ,lachte ze mij uit ,ik ok bel nu mijn advocaat wat ik moet doen , toen gooide ze snel mijn bon naar ons hoofd...dus mensen wees gewaarschuwd dit is pure oplichterij!!!!

Very clean and modern—just what you need for a restful night in Liege. The service was really friendly, and the rooms have a cute nod towards the rich Belgian culture of cartoons. Each room is decorated with a different cartoon theme! The free breakfast in the morning was a nice convenience to have. Baked goods, cereal, fruit, meats, coffee, tea… basically everything you could want. Location was really easy to walk to the train station, and just a little walk to the historic center of the city.

Petit séjour dans ma ville natale et superbe découverte de ce petit hôtel de neuf chambres dans un bâtiment datant du XVIII siècle vaut le détour, endroit sympa et atypique pour celui qui apprécie les bâtiments anciens, vielles pierres et bâtisses d’un autre temps, c’est endroit est fait pour vous. Avec tout le confort pour un agréable séjour. Je recommande pour les personnes nostalgiques qui ont envie de vivre une expérience différente des grands hôtels. We stayed here in liege for the Belgian Grand Prix. I was away at the track most days and did not spend much time in the main hotel area except for breakfast and the occasional drink in the evening. The hotel was located in the outskirts of liege next to a major road about a 30 minute walk from the main train station or approximately at €10 taxi. being in room 33 which is the closest to the road I had no issues with getting to sleep. If your a light sleeper a pair of noise cancelling ear buds would be a good fix. The room was moderately sized and featured everything I would need. The only thing possibly missing was a mini fridge to keep things cool. The dining area was a little bland. They offered a buffet style European breakfast with fresh fruit, breads and yogurts. The bar was sp**** but for a small hotel it was more than enough. They offered a selection of Belgian beer on draft and bottle along with a standard spirit selection. The staff were friendly even if some had poor English. They were able to organise taxis to and from the hotel when I arrived and later when checking out.

We really liked this hotel. It is very clean. Cleaning rooms is done every day, the staff is very kind and pleasant. We were warmly welcomed at the reception. I also liked the breakfast, it's very tasty. Everything is professional. I will advise this hotel to my friends.

J'ai eu la chance de découvrir ce magnifique hôtel. Les chambres sont superbes, joliment décorées, très propres et confortables. Le jacuzzi ainsi que la douche à l'italienne sont très bien. Le service est impeccable, accueil souriant et sympathique, bouteille de champagne à l'arrivée et le lendemain petit déjeuner servi devant la porte. Celui-ci a été pris sur la petite terrasse. Nous avons passé une excellente nuit, je vous recommande cette hôtel romantique.
