Altis Avenida Hotel

Baixa Lisbon|0.35km dari Santa Justa Lift
I visited this place in march 2022 with my husband. The + of this hotel: - modern (I think they have redecorated it recently) - perfect situation (you are between Avenida da Liberdade with Restauradores square on one side and the Rossio square) and you have thus plenty of restaurants and shops right next to the hotel, as well as many places of interest to visit in the neighbourhood - a good restaurant at the top of the hotel with a great terrasse from where you can admire the city: the Rossio Gastrobar It is « tapas » kind and it was one of the best food we had during this 3 nights stay - a good breakfast offer in a room which is also situated on the roof top, on the other side of the gastrobar, though a little bit noisy when it is full - the rooms are correctly equipped and perfectly clean - though you are in an animated area, it is perfectly calm and quiet in the rooms The - now: - the bedrooms are very dark. We took one superior with balcony but still, all was black in this room and the view was…not what we expected, even if it was on a quite high floor. In fact most of them are facing their other hotel across the road. I bet you’d better take a suite to get an open view. - service is ok but very discreet (reception) or jaded (gastrobar). It was good at breakfast. Let me explain: I couldn’t get a reservation in any of the three restaurants I had asked for my last evening through the reception. I guess it saved me money :-) At Gastrobar, several waiters were acting as if they had not seen our signs, waiting for the only waitress that night to do it at their place (which she always did)

Rossio Apartments

Baixa Lisbon|0.09km dari Santa Justa Lift
I’ve not really known how to describe the “vacation/break” at Rossio Apartments. FANTASTIC location, literally a stones throw from Rossio square. Local amenities within a few steps, even a pharmacy (which was very handy for when my inhaler burst!). Facilities within the room were pretty good, EXCEPTIONALLY clean, our cleaners were AMAZING, fresh linens/towels daily. And the beds were as crisp as hospital beds. Not enough bed linen provided and our “heated air conditioner”, just made the room colder. We had to raid the poor cleaners cub-bard, for an extra blanket. We were unfortunate enough, to have been placed in the room “above” the “peep show”. And I have to say, I wish we had ignored all other reviews, and just booked the Rossio hotel instead.. The only night we had any proper sleep, was Sunday 5th, the night before we flew. We ended up missing parts of our trip; because we were being kept awake until around 2am by the noise downstairs. We had booked here, having read the music stops around 10pm, (reasonable, it’s a city afterall). having landed in Lisbon around 9pm, we had been provided with a “complimentary” transfer, that we then had to pay €35 euros for, when we arrived at the “sister hotel”, to check in. Local Ubers cost around €8-10 euros, so felt a bit ripped off to say the least. However, it was worth it for the “history of Lisbon” lesson, our lovely taxi driver gave us. I don’t mind paying double for a service, but triple/quadrupole. Just a bit frustrating.. The receptionist at the sister hotel, “Isabel”, was a DELIGHT, super helpful, really lovely and really wish we had just booked the hotel instead. We arrived at the apartments, that are just located at the right of the archway. The entrance is poorly lit and two girls carrying suitcases, past drunken men outside a peep show. Didn’t really feel very “safe”. We headed out for food and got back, past midnight, the music was continuous until about 1.30am the Thursday night (into Friday) 3rd, (my birthday), and I spent the first few hours of my birthday, PRAYING that they would close up; so that I could just get to sleep. We ended up waking up late on my birthday, and I had to miss our Belem tower from the trip as we just didn’t have enough time to cover it. That Friday night, was HORRENDOUS, bare in mind it was my birthday so we only got back late ourselves. Men stood outside catcalling/ drunk/ no real presence of any security/any lighting. It was EXTREMELY, intimidating. We felt SO on edge walking into the building/through the street to get to our apartment. And although inside the building feels quite safe, it wouldn’t take much to kick the door through/ climb up the ledges. And when you have that much alcohol and “live sex show”, fuelled men around, it can be a VERY, daunting & intimidating experience. I don’t know why we were placed in the room directly above? Because we’re two young women? we wouldn’t mind trying to stay above a “peep show?”.

Dare Lisbon House is a lovely boutique hotel in central Lisbon. Located minutes from both the main tourist plaza (where you catch your tours) and Commerce Square, it is an ideal location for seeing Lisbon. We were able to walk or take a short Uber ride everywhere we wanted to go. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful and the hotel is impeccably clean. They offer Portuguese wine in the lobby and keep your fridge fully stocked with yummy breakfast items (plus they hang a bag of fresh bread on your door each day). We stayed in the apartment with the loft and it was perfect for our family of 3. Our unit was air conditioned, but there is also a great cross breeze if you prefer open windows. I would definitely stay here again!

Spotless clean. Super nice staff. Super quiet and beautiful view from the executive rooms (with terrace), it is really worth, table and chairs for afternoon coffee included, super helpful staff, thank you to Alberto & Levi at reception, they were just the best. Breakfast a variety with seeded rolls, plain rolls, croissants, fresh cakes, goat cheese, omelette, scrambled eggs, fried eggs, baked beans, my Tipp: order the “American coffee” ☕️, it is equivalent to the European coffee, the bed was super confident, in the executive room you get 2 pillows each and the bed is 2x King Size. TV huge plus international channels, walk in shower (I’m disabled and it helped!). Would give 10 stars for the hotel. Attention please: if you are having trouble walking, the hotel is on a slightly hill. But I’m disabled and thought it is good excercise.

Firstly, the location of this lovely, small hotel is perfect. Right in the middle of the old town beside the Santa Justa Lift. This is only a 20 room hotel, so nice and private. The reception is on the 5th Floor, where you have breakfast and tea, coffee and cake at other times of the day. Wee arrived later in the evening and were warmly welcomed. As we checked in they offered a small glass of Port and a Pastel De Nata. How can you refuse! Rooms are perfect for city breaks. TV, Large bathroom. Bed was Kingsize, so plenty room too. The buffet breakfast was a nice continental one. Boiled eggs, meats, cheese, fresh baked bread and rolls. Some small cakes too. Yogurt and various toppings were also provided. If back in Lisbon I'd certainly use the hotel again.

Great hostel near Rossio Plaza nightlife and Metro, and Bairro Alto elevator. Clean (enough) and comfortable. Hopping bar on property, but it's in adjacent row house, so noise is not a problem when you're ready for bed. Cool wall art in dorm room. Only one of three men's showers on my floor was in service; they need to be fixed. And hours indicated showers only allowed in morning, from 0700; no night showers?
