The Dixie Dean Hotel

We booked to stay for a friends suprise 30th birthday. We booked a room for 8 people with 4 double beds (there was only 4 of us). Upon arrival we checked in and went to our room only to find out there was 1 double bed and 2 single beds pushed together to make a double. We went to recpetion to query why we had been given a smaller room. We were then informed that our origianl booked room the shower was broken so we had been moved to alternative room to avoid being outsourced to a different hotel. We queried why this hadnt been mentioned at check in literally 5 minutes ago and asked if there would be any compensation for being put in a smaller room, it felt as though the staff were hoping we wouldnt notice (also wonder why we hadnt been prewarned before check in). We were then told 'you can have the room with a broken shower or the smaller room thats your options'. We were very unhappy about this and a different staff member sorted a room the size we had origanally booked which we were grateful for. The room was nicely decorated but deffo on the worn side, there was food on the bathroom floor and the door handle kept coming off from the inside of the bathroom. The room was large and the beds were comfy. The breakfast was nice but it took 20 minutes before we could get a staff member to order a hot drink. The location is good within easy walking distance to most things in liverpool.

It was a lovely stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. In a great part of town and very convenient for any activities/ amenities. Would definitely stay here again.

The customer service was really good, especially when we arrived back at the hotel late after our meal. The bar man even acknowledged us asked how our evening had been, ensured we knew they were still serving and how I could have the tv on or music. It was a lovely a**osphere and our room was lovely too. Overall great experience.

large rooms, clean and comfy. Great Breakfast, plenty of choice!! only picky things is that the room could do with more sockets, only two which were plugged in with the lamps. will also add maybe more soundproofing, listened to the couple next door having a “great time” until 2am!

Lovely service from check in to check out all staff friendly lovely comfortable rooms breakfast was lovely too, will definitely stay again highly recommend

Very helpful staff upgraded for free booked luxury double room with 1 double bed ended up in a luxury room that sleeps 8 only downside i ordered the dessert platter and it was just 1 little cake overall fantastic hotel

Amazing hotel whether you are an Everton fan or not. Room was huge and very nicely decorated. Staff friendly and everything was easy. Breakfast adequate. Will definitely stay again.

The hotel location is good , the rooms are fine and spacious however there are no attention to details e.g. a place to hang hand towel, usb charges, shower handle and supports to get in/out the tub. The breakfast is ok but there is only apalling filter coffee and need to pay £4 if you woukd like a cappuccino, etc.
