During my recent stay at this hotel, I experienced a truly remarkable level of hospitality, coupled with top-notch amenities and delectable culinary offerings. From the moment I stepped into the lobby, I was greeted by warm smiles and efficient service, setting the tone for a delightful stay. For breakfast, the buffet spread featured an extensive selection of both local delicacies and international favorites, ensuring there was something to satisfy every palate. The à la carte options were equally impressive, with each dish expertly prepared to perfection.

We had a 2 night stay during the Victorian Extravaganza weekend. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left we were made to feel like valued guests. The staff throughout the hotel were so friendly and efficient. The telephone conversations during the booking process with different members of staff were so helpful and we knew from the outset this hotel really wants to impress. The spacious hotel feels brand new. The ambience is lovely. The second floor sea view classic room was not large but well appointed and extremely comfortable. The bathroom was lovely with an over bath shower. The afternoon tea was delicious. The breakfast was truly outstanding in terms of choice and quality of ingredients . The cooked breakfast was exceptional including superb cooked to order pancakes. Excellent coffee. The hotel values children. They loved the hotel and cannot wait to return. On street free parking. This is an absolute gem of a hotel. It is dog friendly but extremely clean and dogs do not use the restaurant. Unbelievable value for this quality. Highly recommended.

The location is at a crossroad and it is still a bit far away from the seaside on foot. There is a large free parking lot. The accommodation is a separate entrance behind the bar. I like the design of the spiral staircase very British style. The room is exquisite and comfortable with an old small fan. The restaurant downstairs was fully booked. They arranged for us to sit in the corner of the bar for dinner. The products were very good. I personally prefer the decoration and atmosphere of the bar. It was a very pleasant night! The breakfast on the second day is half a la carte, that is, the cold cuts are self-service and the a la carte hot food is still exquisite and delicious😋... Overall very good, especially recommended to friends who want to experience a bar-type hotel!

Me and my wife stayed at the Can-Y-Bae hotel and really loved it. The hotel is very traditional and homey. Ray and Mo were wonderful hosts and couldn’t do more. We were treated with a complimentary drink as we were staying for five days which was lovely of them. The breakfast was exceptional and always filling. Will definitely be staying again in the near future. Best Jake and Linda xx

We had a lovely stay here, the room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Being in a town centre we wondered if it would be noisy but it wasn't at all. We all had a good night's sleep. It was also good to have a choice of having a bath and a shower. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice and we found all the staff were so nice and friendly. Especially a big thanks to ”Andy” who was great. Also ”Ian” too. They made us all very welcome at breakfast. It's nice to see staff happy in their jobs. We parked in the Railway Car Park just a few minutes away and for £4.50 for 24 hours was a bargain.

From walking to leaving 4 days later the staff were brilliant, couldn't do more to please, excellent variety of choices for breakfast, along with the evening meal, all well cooked & portioned well, then again we enjoy our holidays were ever we go, if you feel the need to moan about everything you may as well stay at home, a big thank you to all the staff for making our stay enjoyable

We just had an overnight stay but everything went swimmingly. Smooth, friendly chech in; lovely room with good space, two comfy arm chairs and a good view, spotlessly clean room and bathroom. Parking was easy. Nice restaurant with good choice of menu. Chef clearly respects his vegetables. Exceeded expectations.

My wife and I stayed at The Grand hotel from 03/05/24 to 06/05/24. The location of this hotel is excellent with lovely views over the Irish sea. I paid extra for a sea view as we wanted to look out over the sea.
When my wife and I entered the room after checking in we found that the room and the bathroom were very clean and tidy, we couldn't fault the cleanliness. Our room had a kettle and a coffee machine which was good, but Kenco coffee, which is not so good, bad tasting coffee. Also, in the room is mobile electric radiators, which we did use even though it was the month of May!
Also, there was always plenty of hot water to have a nice warm shower. That's the plus side of my review.
Now the negative side: The hotel itself is old, in its heyday, I think that it would have been a very impressive building. But now in 2024, it needs a good refurbishment which would cost £millions.
We noticed in the bedroom that was allocated to us that there were no bedside tables/cabinets, also, no bedside lights. This, we thought, was rather strange as every hotel that we have stayed in has bedside lamps.
The bedroom furniture was kind of weird. As my wife said: ” it looks like the hotel owners have bought it from a charity shop”! See photos attached.
Another negative is that the hotel doesn't have its own parking facilities. Residents are required to park in the street and at a daily cost of £7, which I had to pay for 2 days, as the third day we checked out before 10am. We only discovered after arriving in the hotel that there is no wifi in the rooms! Both of us were shocked by this to say the least. But, if guests want wifi access in the rooms then they have to pay. I think that reception told us that it's £7.00 or £7.50 per day! After paying £423 for 3 nights I thought that it was outrageous for the hotel reception to ask for £7.50 for wifi access. But they said that it is the owner's policy, owner being Britannia. Well, Britannia didn't get £7 - £7.50 from us.
So; we will definitely avoid staying at a hotel in the future which is owned and run by the Britannia Group, unless they change their wifi policy for their rooms.

The hotel is not far from the beach, although it is not directly facing the beach, but you can still see the hotel facilities. Although it is a bit old, it is still clean. The room has free costa coffee capsules. Milk and mineral water in the refrigerator are free 15 pounds per person. The breakfast is also very good with a sea view The price-performance ratio of this hotel is still very recommended. There are many restaurants when you go out. It takes only 2 minutes to walk to the small train on Mount Ohm

What a great hotel! Right in the heart of Llandudno. Lovely, clean and very homely. Comfortable beds and spacious. Sue the owner is wonderful. Very welcoming kind and very helpful. Breakfast was great. Will definitely be back the next time we visit Llandudno. Thank you very much.
Me and my partner and son had a wonderful experience at this beautiful hotel. The lady on the reception was really lovely and very helpful. The staff made us feel like royalty. The room was very clean and cozy, and the evening meal was incredible tasty, the staff looked after us at all times. And the breakfast was amazing. We will definitely book again. Thank you all for a wonderful experience. Erica
GGuest UserOn arrival the receptionist was very helpful, Room was clean , beds comfortable ,we found the room very warm and was unable to open the window room 311, not a very view from this room. Hotel was full so unable to get another room . We had evening meal in the restaurant .food was excellent, and our waiter was very helpful. We had breakfast the following morning, but found that the bacon and black pudding was overdone as was the fried egg. But we should of waited for the Fresh cooked food to come out of the kitchen. Idid mention this to the waitress. Breakfast was the only downside to our stay
GGuest UserWe needed a little break from the norm during COVID so managed to secure a two night break away at The Marlborough. We was greeting by a friendly gentleman who went through all the covid secure processes and checked us in efficiently. We had a double and a single room, the double looked recently refurbed and was clean and comfortable. The single was very small, but as this was just for two nights it wasn't a problem, any longer and it would have been too small in my opinion. Rooms had a clean and spacious bathroom and each rooms had tea and coffee making facilities. The hotel was quiet given the situation with COVID but the bar was open and despite being the only ones who seemingly used the bar, the staff were always on hand to serve us drinks as we required. We found the two members of the evening team we encountered to be very friendly and chatty... friendly and welcoming staff make all the difference. The hotel is fairly dates yes, but its clean and comfortable so its no problem. We did find one or two negatives... The hotel were kind enough to reserve us a car parking space at the rear of the hotel, the spaces are VERY tight and have steel bollards folded into each space which I know damaged a fellow guests tyres. Simply remove a space and allow for 4 cars to park comfortably rather than 5 cars far too close. The lift was an experience. We could not get the 3 of us in the lift with our little cases, and we are not big people. It was very cramped and the lift was old a rickety and didnt quite reach the third floor - it feel short by around 8 inches. I never used the lift again as i didnt trust it but my mom did as she would have struggled with the stairs. Lastly, my biggest gripe was breakfast. I always feel that in a Bed and Breakfast, the breakfast is a real opportunity to shine. Sadly the Marlborough allowed this opportunity to pass. The full English breakfast is ok... there wasn't a lot of anything on the plate and what there was on the plate, was obviously cheap. Really disappointing. As you couldnt self serve, you was issued a tiny glass of juice of your choice and of course tea or coffee. The whole experience was underwhelming and prevented us from making dinner reservations with the hotel for that evening. Also the service in the breakfast room was quite over bearing. You couldn't sit and enjoy your coffee and toast, you had everything thrown at you the moment you walked in and then cleared away the moment you swallowed the last bite. Far too much and really spoilt things. 4 stars given here due to the staff we encountered in the evenings being so nice and for the hotel and rooms being clean and comfortable. For the money paid, it represented good value despite the odd negative. I would return but eat out for breakfast and park elsewhere.
Amazing experience and very friendly and accommodating staff, very pleasant and small but well stocked bar very homely feeling will be going back. Breakfast was really good sausage was really nice and fast service all brought to your table.
DON'T stay in room 24!! Despite offering a sea view, the room is tiny, and the bathroom is ridiculously small - you can barely shut the door if you are sat on the loo, let alone reach for toilet paper!! The bed is uncomfortable - the mattress is lumpy due to being over used. The bed and the floor of the room slopes and squeaks. Furthermore, the noise coming from neighbouring rooms is horrendously hard to bare if you stay in Room 24. You can hear the showers being run, the toilets being flushed, and the bath taps running throughout the night and early in the morning. In addition, the bed in Room 24 and the floor boards moves if your neighbors in room 23 walks or moves... It was awful staying here!! The breakfast was not especially good either. There was a limited choice of Kellogg's cereal. Tinned peaches or prunes. Limited selection of yoghurt, a few slices of cheese and cold meats, and croissants. The hot breakfast was just 2 slices of bacon, 1 sausage, a spoonful of beans, 1 poached egg ( 2 if you are lucky), 1 hash brown, and 1 triangular fried bread if you like that sort of thing. The staff were not very hospitable or friendly at all. We won't be coming back to this hotel again. One good thing about this hotel is it's proximity to the Great Orme and the beach.
We have just returned from spending just one night at this charming hotel and really wish we could have stayed longer. We were made to feel so comfortable and welcome and all the staff we encountered were cheerful, smiley and falling over themselves to help us and make sure that we had everything we needed. We can't speak highly enough of the whole team but must give a special mention to receptionist [and it seems general all singing all dancing assistant] Claire. At long last we have encountered somebody working in hospitality who clearly understands special needs and took the time to seek out and address our daughter directly about her stay. She herself commented on this and was so chuffed after a lifetime of the ”does she take sugar” scenario! You will never know how much this one little thing meant to her and us. We ate dinner in the restaurant and found the food to be really very good - well presented, of excellent quality and good value. Breakfast was beautifully executed with a great choice and again of very good quality. Waiting service was also exceptional. Rooms were very clean, perfectly adequate and beds comfortable with good quality linen and towels and we all slept well. It was lovely to have a sea view room too but what a shame about the state of the beach! I do agree with others that the windows are terrible and so is the parking but we honestly weren't particularly bothered about either since the advantages of staying here hugely outweigh those minor *******. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this lovely bighearted hotel and should we ever venture to Llandudno again you can be sure we'll be back here like a shot!
Visited in school hols with partner, 2 teenagers and parents. Hotel is in a great location, minutes from the front, pier and bars/restaurants. Inside is dated but comfortable, we were on the top floor, our room had great views of the orme, and parents had partial sea views. Breakfast is very nice and has multiple options, full english, pick your choices, juice, cereal, muffins, jam etc. Staff very friendly and helpful. Good choice.
