The Ritz-Carlton Los Angles is one of our most favorite hotels but on our recent trip it was a whole new level for two reasons 1) super sweet upgrade (thanks Bonvoy Ambassador team)and 2) club level access. The Room The Executive Suite is a stunning room. The hotel offers several configurations. Some have a half bath, some offer a connecting room and some are accessible. Regardless of configurations all offer a spacious living/dining room, spectate bedroom, stunning bathroom and killer views. The executive suite is great for couples looking for a bit of extra space (more than a thousand square feet) to spread out, families or those travel on business and need space for work. Club Lounge If you’ve never had the opportunity to experience the Ritz-Carlton Club Level it is an experience to be had. Unfortunately Ritz-Carlton does not offer elite access to the club level so you’ll have to pay for it - Burd it’s worth it. The offerings vary by hotel but this club offers a full hot breakfast, lite lunch mid day, snacks, evening appetizers and desserts, beer and wine all day and evening cocktail service. This is all included in the room rate along with an incredible concierge team. The Hotel The hotel is tranquil, private and offers discrete luxury. Even though the JW Marriott and Ritz-Carlton share a building the experiences can not be anything farther from each other. From the private lobby, to beautiful rooms, to the well equipped fitness center to the tranquil rooftop pool The Ritz-Carlton Los Angeles does not disappoint.

2.5 out of 5 really. This is an independent hotel, but the chain equivalent would be Econo Lodge or Super 8. If you do not enjoy staying in those types of places then you will not enjoy staying here. Furniture is all well-worn, beds are stiff, and there are no amenities. On the positive side, the room was clean enough, and this is pretty much the only hotel choice within walking distance to Union Station if that's important to you. It was to me as I had an early train to catch, so that's why I stayed here. This might also be a good hotel choice for budget travelers getting around Los Angeles without a car, as a lot of bus and subway routes converge on this area. If train travel does not factor into your Los Angeles travel plans, then I definitely do not recommend staying here as there are other much better options. Aside from the hotel itself, the immediate area is not all that great. Lots of homeless people all over the place, who are mostly harmless, but it still always puts me on edge a little, especially at night. Also, there's an empty and rather depressing Chinatown area nearby. My choice for food and drink would be the Mexican themed Olvera Street, which is also nearby.

Stayed here for 7 nights while visiting Los Angeles. Booked the location mainly for proximity to Dodger Stadium (walking distance) but found it very handy for our other sightseeing excursions, and very reasonably priced given that it's basically in downtown LA. Hotel was quiet, clean and well-maintained. No problem parking underground every night ($18/day, which is not unexpected and seems quite reasonable for any big city, not just LA). Breakfast was well done - lots of options (waffles, pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausages, baked goods, cereal, etc.). Staff was all very friendly and helpful. We did need to ask for an additional pillow (there were only 3 on the king bed) but the person at the front desk was very accommodating. Overall, this was a great, affordable, and convenient option and would definitely stay here again.

This is not an hotel. It's a dorm that rents some of their unused rooms at an hotel-like rate, so you're paying for an hotel service without receiving it. Please, stop advertising this place as an hotel, because it is not. This place has no AC (something that I knew beforehand, and I was OK with that) but the room gets much hotter than the ambient temperature and the fans in the room don't help at all. It would be definitely cooler to sleep outside at night. The whole place is poorly maintained and there is a penetrating stench within the building. You can clearly see stains on the carpet and there was no room service. Management tried to keep a photocopy of my debit card, which is NOT OK and probably even illegal. Management might justify the current state of the building as it being old and historic, but I've been at hotels that are centuries older than this property and they were definitely up to a higher quality of service. If this would haven been branded as an hostal with reasonable prices, I'd give it a better rating without hesitation. But I was expecting and paying for an hotel and your property, services and prices do not adhere to that standard. The only upside is that the staff was friendly and tried its best to accommodate all my requests, so here's a shout-out to them. Sadly, that doesn't make up for the low quality standard that this place is offering. My advice to the management: You should either invest more on your property to elevate your level of service (I've been told that some refurbishing works involving AC installation are expected), or just stop advertising yourselves as an hotel. My advice to travelers: Downtown LA is full of weird people and homeless. Book this place if and only if you're having an emergency and your only alternative is to sleep in the street without a roof, and then move to a proper hotel west or north of the city afterwards. To summarize: Not an hotel, but an overpriced dorm.

We booked this as an economical option for a USC graduation. Great choice! Recently renovated, the rooms were updated, spacious and very clean. You are a coupe of blocks from a sketchy area, but a great option all the way around.

Amazing stay. We’ve stayed a handful of times at the Waldorf Beverly Hills which we also love, but I think this will be our new go-to Hilton property in Los Angeles as it’s at a much more attractive price point. The service was what really stood out. Extremely friendly front desk, bellmen, drivers, and wait staff. We were celebrating our anniversary and they upgraded us to a beautiful suite and provided treats and champagne. Pool was beautiful and huge considering the area. Food was delicious, albeit extremely expensive which is our only criticism of the property. We are excited to come back.
