"The hotel is a bit of a distance from the Luang Prabang night market street, about 2 kilometers. I walk pretty fast, so it takes me about 20 minutes to get there. Walking back in the morning, the streetlights are quite dim and there are very few pedestrians. However, once I arrived, checked in, and opened the door, I saw a swimming pool and a bar, with a direct river view room right opposite. It’s a great spot to just sit and daydream. Maybe it wasn't peak season in Luang Prabang, as it was just me and one foreigner. He was living there long-term and even learning Chinese. We didn't interact much. I slept very well and left the next day. The room interior and bedding were pretty standard. The river view opposite was indeed very nice."

"I was really surprised by how massive the common areas are at this hostel! They have a bar/restaurant, a pool table, a swimming pool, and laundry facilities. It's set up so nicely, it feels more like a resort – incredibly comfortable! It's the kind of place you won't want to leave; truly a perfect spot to just relax and unwind. The beds are super comfy too, and there are always lots of international travelers around."

"The really positive aspect of the Guesthouse is that the Alms giving ceremony passes right in front of it. However, for longer stays, the morning noise might be bothersome. I was not overly happy with the cleaning standard, but the price and value ratio of this establishment is still great."

"The hotel is well located. I liked the breakfast very much. The coffee from the machine is super nice. The staff is very friendly. The room was big enough (even when I travelled alone I can say it was enough big for two people). Luang Prabang is next to a river and jungle so you can't ignore this if you can handle this type of enviroment. I saw geckos in my room. They are not bad but I am a city girl and I get scared even with ants. I saw baby roaches in the toilet. Now, the night I stayed there was like a concert or a bar next to the hotel and it was noisy for some period of time at night. They have earplugs but I don't like to use them. Anything I said didn't bother me that much as the fact that there is no way to turn off the lights unless you take out the card to open the door, this means when you turn off the lights nothing can be charged. Plus you need to stand up to turn on the lights again. I was a bit annoyed by this, then I saw the yummy breakfast and it really felt that I was complaining for nothing. The tuk tuk and cars taken from the hotel might be expensive. I took some of them because I wanted to feel safe as solo female traveller but I felt very bad when I met other people and asked them how much they paid to go to the waterfalls and I paid like 4 times more. The staff is friendly and ready to help you. Close to the hotel there is a temple so it is very convenient if you wake up at 6 am to see the monks during the morning alms. Also close to the hotel there is this mountain Phou Si where you hike and have a city view. You also have many coffee shops around and restaurants. It was ok to stay here but just some minor inconvenients. But yeah try the breakfast and the banana chocolate cake. Internet was ok and AC worked fine. Hot shower also good."

"Seeing that the hotel reviews mentioned it was run by Chinese owners, I booked it without hesitation. From the day I made the reservation, they proactively and warmly answered all my questions. Upon arrival at our destination, they even came to guide us and help with our luggage. My child and I experienced incredibly thoughtful and warm service; it felt like being with family. Even better, I discovered the owner is from my hometown, which was a constant pleasant surprise! The breakfast was simple but perfectly suited my taste, and the coffee was unlimited, which was fantastic! 👍 I want to thank the front desk staff and the owner for their warm hospitality during this trip – you guys are great. Chatting in Wenzhou dialect felt like I hadn't even left the country, hahaha! A special thanks to the owner for all the help provided; I look forward to meeting again next time! 🤝 For friends planning to visit Luang Prabang, don't overthink it, booking this place is definitely the right choice."

"Everything about this hotel was great, from the facilities to the staff. However! I specifically paid extra in advance for a pool-view room, only to be told at check-in that all the first-floor rooms were full? What was the point of me paying for a pool view then? And what's the point of having online booking if the hotel doesn't hold the reserved rooms for guests? It's a real shame because the hotel is otherwise fantastic, but this really brought my rating down."

"Great location with friendly and english-speaker staff. Walking distance to night market & museum. Alms giving ceremony just in front of this guesthouse. Mount Phousi trailhead is also just nearby. Offers many services & tour options with the cheapest price. For a muslim like me, it is easy to locate halal restaurants nearby - right by the Mekong riverside. All in all, I’m glad i stayed here and will definitely stay again if i am visiting Luang Prabang in future. Thanks 🙏"

"This home-style hotel is located 5 minutes walk to Sakkaline and 10 minutes walk to Mekong river. Everywhere is close, complete facilities, comfortable beds. There is a unique stone-style bath up and all made of wood. There is a balcony where you can sit while looking out. The receptionist is friendly and the breakfast has been determined in western style. In front of and around the inn there are many places to eat that are delicious and cheap. The hotel is right at the corner of the crossroads. In the morning in front of the hotel you can give alms for the monks. I really like to stay here."

"Review of Luang Prabang Village Hotel (Villa Wanika) I had a wonderful stay at Luang Prabang Village Hotel (Villa Wanika). The staff were extremely helpful and made my visit comfortable and enjoyable. I stayed in Room C3 downstairs, which was quiet, cool, and spacious. The room had everything I needed—a comfortable bed, fridge, coat hangers, and a nice shower with good-quality toiletries. The breakfast was modest but satisfying, with croissants, fresh fruit, tea, and coffee—a simple but pleasant way to start the day. The location was perfect—close to the Mekong River, Night Market, and Mount Phousi. It was also conveniently situated for watching the morning alms-giving procession, a beautiful cultural experience. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for its great service, comfortable rooms, and excellent location. A lovely place to stay in Luang Prabang!"
