This might be my favorite hotel experience to date. Amantaka created a genuinely special space, making us feel like truly valued guests. The property is located in the heart of the city so it’s easy to see the sights and catch dinner reservations. The hotel has a complimentary tuk tuk, which makes things even easier. Our suite came with all kinds of perks, including 2 free meals and a complimentary airport transfer (I hate when super expensive hotels charge you for pickup— it seems petty, lol). Amantaka also had the coolest amenity that we’ve ever seen: FREE LAUNDRY! It’s so pragmatic and thoughtful, especially since we’d been traveling for weeks before we arrived to Laos. We took a sunset cruise on the Amantaka boat, which we highly recommend. It comes with snacks and we ordered some wine from the hotel. Amantaka staffed the whole thing with professionalism. Very fun and very beautiful. On my husband’s birthday, we ended up going out for dinner instead of staying at the hotel. The Amantaka kitchen actually stayed open late to sing him happy birthday and bring him a dessert upon our return. It was so sweet and considerate. We would never ask anyone to do such a thing, but the fact they went above and beyond was extremely touching. This is a true 5 star experience. We can’t thank them enough for showing us the beauty of Luang Prabang.

鬧中取靜的合院酒店，建築非常好看，中間是泳池景觀，泳池旁邊保留了幾顆參天的古樹，讓人有一種很強的庇護感。關鍵詞簡約典雅，傳承了安縵的氣質，但價格上可以有更多的年輕人可選擇體驗。看到有很多人也給出挑剔的評價，但我想説的是沒有任何一家酒店是絕對完美的，對我個人來説度假產品，服務設施完善，但也不需要過度服務。我覺得這一點這裏已經做的很好了。Adrian Zecha説過:“這世上沒有一塵不變的東西，一個人必須去積極擁抱新的生活方式的變化。”也是我們應該有的人生態度。下次還會選擇。

When our driver pulled up to the hotel by a rickety bridge over the river, we were a bit nervous as the hotel looks tiny from the outside. What we thought was the hotel was actually the lobby and the hotel is actually quite large and sprawling with buildings and bungalows scattered next to the river. The hotel has a lovely infinity pool by the river with a lounge chairs, beach towels and an affordable pool bar with snacks for sale. The rooms were spacious with large balconies. The toilet was by the front door so you had to exit the WC walk around the corner to the bathroom to wash your hands - sort of a weird set up, but did help in the morning for 2 people to get ready. This was the only hotel we stayed in with dual sinks and a long vanity so excellent for 2 travelers and a big plus! The shower was a walk in so east access. The hotel also has a restaurant where breakfast (included) is served in the morning. Unfortunately it was a buffet with limited options and the food that was supposed to be hot was always cold and unappetizing. The hotel uses tiny candles to try to keep the food warm but this method does not work at all. The hotel no longer has a shuttle to town which is a negative as you need to walk across a scary rickety bridge to get to town. The hotel does not have a gym which is a requirement, in my opinion, if you want to be a 5 star resort. My only other comment to management is to find a few better English speaking employees as we had difficulty communicating with staff. Yes we know we are in Laos and should learn to speak their language but I feel when you cater to tourists you need a few people in each area to speak the universal language for business. We did enjoy our stay and can recommend this hotel to others.

Sin duda, el personal profesional y encantador, ayudó mucho con la atención proporcionada, y un servicio siempre por encima de las expectativas. Las instalaciones son impresionantes, nada más hermoso que el patio central con el pequeño estanque y el jardín, además de la zona de la gran piscina común, ¡un 10! El desayuno tiene una gran calidad, mucha variedad en su oferta y siempre dispuestos a prepararte un plato más contundente. Recomendada la tostada con aguacate y huevo escalfado, una gran forma de empezar el día. La habitación que nos asignaron nos pareció una de las mejores del hotel, con varios espacios separados y una piscina privada. Para quedarnos aquí muchos más días. Deberían mejorar la conexión wifi en esa zona del hotel, dado que apenas pudimos conectarnos en la habitación durante los días que estuvimos. Al tener que trabajar en algún momento, esto representó un problema, que rápidamente olvidé con un chapuzón en la piscina. Gracias a todo el personal por su trabajo extraordinario.

The property is charming with the standout feature a beautiful Lilly pond in the centre courtyard. Our room was beautiful and spacious with shuttered windows and a four-poster bed. We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfasts, alternating between the different omelettes on offer accompanied by fresh fruit and pastries. We would highly recommend this hotel to anybody staying in Luang Prabang.

The staff were lovely and always greeted you with a smile. The pool area and gardens were well maintained. The rooms were a little dated and although nothing wrong with them I think I would opt to stay in one of the small hotels or villas along the nam khan next time rather than this little extra out of the centre. Breakfast choices were good with a nice non sugary muesli, milk & yoghurt, nice cafe latte and an egg station plus toast, croissants and Asia stir-fry dishes. They had free bikes you could use, although I didn't see any helmets. As noted, for what we paid it was 'ok'.

The place is poorly situated in the town. You need for sure ear plug in order to be able to sleep. However you'll be near of a lot of places of interest. Sheet of the bed were stained but clean. A/C delivers but is noisy. Room is big and made with beautiful wood like most of the others guest houses in Luang Prabang. Still, it was too dark because lighting was not adequate, especially in the bathroom. Shower is in the bath with a shower head poorly installed on the wall. Breakfast is include with nice fresh fruits, eggs and toast (little and dry) but portion is small. You must make your own coffee! Service is ok but minimalist. For sure you can fine better places in town.

Stayed here for two nights. It’s about a 5-10 minute walk to all the night markets which isn’t an issue. You can book tours through the hostel and any transport The bedrooms were very average. My bed was missing one of the support beams underneath the mattress and so it has started sinking into the big gap. I was top bunk. The mattress itself was also rock solid. The bathroom was quite gross. The floor was slimy and it smelt so bad. The toilet seat wasn’t even attached to the toilet. The shower pressure was really good but the big overhead shower didn’t work. It’s not worth what you’re paying a night here. I’ve payed half the price at other hostels and had much better facilities. Breakfast was good quite a few options The staff are quite nice although they can be very vague when querying about travel. Watched a girl try to book a train with her friend and the person at the desk wasn’t helpful at all. They just kept going “ok” and when she asked if he knew about availability for the next day, he shrugged and she had to ask if he could check.

This hotel is perfect. We were warmly greeted on arrival by Steve, the hotel manager, and given a welcome drink whilst he gave us a 10 minute introduction to Luang Prabang and what to see. He also described local tours available, and offered to purchase train tickets on our behalf for our onward travel to Vang Vieng. The hotel is located within easy walking distance of the major attractions; night market, Wat Xienthong and Phousi Hill, as well as directly opposite one one the most highly rated (and delicious) restaurants in Luang Prabang, Bamboo Garden. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable, with all the added extras of a high class hotel. Breakfast is chosen from a menu, and is served in a pleasant dining area. Unlimited coffee and tea is available throughout the day. After 3 thoroughly enjoyable nights we left on our way to the train station in air conditioned transport arranged by Steve. The quality of the hotel and the personal service always on hand made our stay in Luang Prabang extra special. This hotel is highly recommended !

L'emplacement est très bien, dans une petite ruelle loin du bruit de la rue, mais juste à côté du centre. Tout peut se faire à pied. La chambre est spacieuse et propre, mais bruyante, j'entendais tout ce qui se passait en dehors, le bruit des gens qui parlent, les chiens qui aboient, les gens qui font la fête dans le bar d'à côté. La nourriture du petit déjeuner est basique mais bonne, de quoi bien commencer la journée.

My wife and I stayed at Villa Oasis in March, during Pi Mai (Lao New Year). We stayed twice, for a total of almost two weeks. We loved it. The villa complex is built alongside a swampy little lagoon (with no mosquitos, surprisingly), just a 10 minute walk from Phousi Hill, Sisavangvong Street, and the Luang Prabang Night Market. We chose it because Villa Oasis (and nearby Villa Mahasok) are two of the only mid-range hotels near the Old Quarter that have pools. As it happened, Luang Prabang experienced a heat wave in March 2023, so we were exceptionally glad we had the pool to cool off in. The villa is very close to a supermarket, there are many cheap restaurants close by, and you are only a 10 minute walk from the tourist night market, with lots of eating and drinking options. Two Little Birds cafe is only 5 minutes walk and has fantastic smoothie bowls. The rooms were comfortable, with traditional wood decor and small balconies. Breakfast in the open air restaurant was predictable but good. The villa offers free bicycles, which is handy if you want to get to the main restaurant and bar area of the Old Quarter, on the mid section of Sisavangvong Street, or to the restaurants along the Mekhong riverbank. Easily the best thing about Villa Oasis was its staff, who couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. They were absolutely lovely and would do everything possible to make your stay more comfortable. They were quick to arrange airport transfers, taxis, train tickets, river boat tickets, or anything else needed. Nicest was the complimentary refreshing fresh fruit juice that would magically appear in your room or delivered to you poolside when you arrived back from exploring Luang Prabang.

as usual, i'm reviewing and posting photos here because google maps shadowbans 1 star reviews, and i promise you this place has many! on google maps it is currently advertised as ”visoun luang prabang hotel” and ”visoun namsok hotel”. Worst hotel experience I've endured, and budget travel in SE Asia has some doozies. I stayed here for 3 days. -they did not have the room i booked on agoda. instead of giving me the street facing balcony room i paid more for, they gave me a no-view room that smelled like urine facing the interior, which they have tented over and made into a hotpot restaurant (best cafe). the ten is old/moldy and at face level. -i was 4th on line to argue with the receptionist about my room assignment and had to wait 2 hours to do so, because 3 guests who arrived the same evening were also assigned incorrect unacceptable rooms! of those other guests, 2 left aftert that first night, i stayed because agoda will never give back more than 50% of what you paid, and the other couple stayed because they are locals who also can't afford this bs. - the best room they could find for me was an alley facing room with two single beds that reeks of mold and cigarette smoke so strongly it hits you when you open the door, every time and makes your eyes water when you wake up in the morningon a hall with 4 rooms where guests clearly smoke (easy to tell from the stench coming from their doors) even though i explained i have asthma and can't endure this nonsense - speaking of the guests, it's a lot of group tours and longterm? residents . . . very rude, very literally disgusting with the spitting and smoking in your face and yelling at everyone (staff, other guests, *everyone) and pretending they literally don't hear you when you tell them to stop. you know who i mean! -fake pictures. check out my pictures which tell the real story. the owners of this place have never put a single cent into it and dg af if you stay or go, they will do nothing for you and rely on the booking sites and travel agents to make it impossible for you to get a refund. they also have the place on map and booking sites under 2 names to even out the bad reviews. i also noticed that between the 2 names there are only 25 reviews, but the place is at least 25 years old. obviously they're claiming the maps listing as owners and deleting it when reviews get too bad, and then relisting it again . . . and again . . . and again. - the family that owns the place lives in rooms next to the lobby and scurries around trying to avoid all the unhappy guests. they purposefully put an english speaking desk person (or family member?) on duty during the day when no one is there, and non-english speaking people at the desk during check-in hours and overnight so that unhappy guests just give up. they should be ashamed. - also no cleaning and thousand year old towels, shish wifi, no lift
