Was easy to check in and out, however when we got to the room, we couldn’t find a garbage can. The room smelled like cigarettes. There was no blankets other than a thin sheet on the bed. So sleeping at night was super hard, because it was cold in the room. We had it at 70, but it was still too cold. Would’ve loved to have a thicker blanket.
Staff was super friendly and otherwise our stay was nice.

First time staying here and won't be the last! Ended up with a top floor and balcony room, which took my breath away! All amenities were clean and pristine, and the bed was comfortable and relaxing! The staff are down to earth and kind; they helped with anything I needed and I can't wait to stay here again!

We tend to stay at Holiday Inn Express hotels on roadtrips, usually spending a night of two as we pass through cities. We've had good and okay experiences with IHG hotels, but this one (Lubbock University area) was one of the let-downs. The hotel looks really nice and modern from the exterior, so I got my hopes high that it will be one of the cleaner/newer ones. Sadly, as soon as we stepped into the room, my first impression is ”the room smells funny” -- there is a curious lingering odor -- not bad, but also not the typical ”clean” hotel room smell. I freshened the room, I thought, no big deal. Upon our return, I started to notice other things *not* in order: a/c was left ”off”; tissue box had one tissue sticking up (the box is otherwise empty); small stains on the carpeted area between the beds; hair on the tub (not ours, as we haven't used the shower yet); some liquid (water?) mixed in the provided conditioner (wall-fastened one); and worst, a couple of the towel looks used, and one had stain on it :( We were only staying the night, so I didn't make a complaint. Breakfast was okay -- typical, but seems a little more sp**** than other Holiday Inn Express. The breakfast lady was very nice. I asked to see if they have more green tea bags, and she referred us to the front desk (she said everything out is all she has). *They did have green tea bag at the front desk -- I thought that was a little odd, but, ok...... They also didn't have any hot chocolate, which my son wanted. And, during the day we checked in (outside of the breakfast hours), there was no complimentary coffee -- only hot water. I have not seen that before at any other Holiday Inn Express. Lastly, the only thing my son was looking forward to this quick stop was the pool. It was dirty, and sadly, not usable.

PPengguna TetamuThe hotel is a prime location, and the cost wasn’t bad. I did notice there was, I think oil drops splattered all over the inside of the windows in our room that had not been wiped off. We did ask for a roll in bed, which we did have to go downstairs to get, and push it up ourselves. We were all very disappointed because the pool does not open till 11 on Sundays, and that’s the same time as check out. We had a wrestling tournament the night we stayed in the hotel, which we checked into prior, but didn’t even get to lay down to sleep until 1:00a.m. We also heard that people above us stomping around for probably another hour and a half after we were in bed. I’ll give it a little below standard level, but not terrible.

JJessPlumVisiting Lubbock for business and this property meets my needs very well for the trip. Free parking, easy to get in and out of, and there’s a shopping center right next door for picking up essentials. The staff is friendly and the hotel is kept very clean. The hotel itself is very quiet but rooms on the Milwaukee Ave end of the property may experience some street noise from motorcycles and other loud vehicles. It didn’t keep me awake (and I was in the very end room) but if it’s likely to disturb you try asking for a room further from the street. The only minor complaint I have is about the breakfast - I was really looking forward to the vat of Fairfield gloopy oatmeal with the raisins to sprinkle on top, but instead they had single-serve Quaker cups. Nevertheless, I was able to find something to eat :) This was a great, convenient place to stay in Lubbock and will be my go-to for future trips!

PPengguna TetamuThe service at this hotel was exceptional; the bed was comfortable and the shower was hot. The breakfast was great and provided me the food and coffee I needed to go about my day. This hotel is old. The furniture and finish carpentry are definitely banged up—the other reviews aren't lying about that. If you care about furniture that has seen better days then this may not be the hotel for you. As for me, this will be the only place I stay in Lubbock.
