Ulasan Passerby Youth Hostel (Yingtianmen Mingtang Scenic Area)

Amazing hostel located in the heart of Luoyang. The amenities are amazing, the room is cozy and clean, the staff is super friendly and they speak perfect English. If you come to Luoyang this has to be your first option for accommodation!

amazing place to be, great location next to jinglimen, metro station, a lot of amazing streets to go around during the night.

Excellent hostel. I’ve visited more than 20 cities around China, and this hostel has the best leisure facilities: two large pool tables (the one on the left is really good), a big screen for movies and classic “Fred Quimby” Tom & Jerry, plus a gaming screen and handsets. They sell strong Trappist beers. Okay, the fridges with beers in should be a lot colder than they are, but at least for strong beer like Trappist beer, this doesn’t matter.  There is a 100-yuan deposit on arriving, but as promised this was repaid into the account it was paid from at midday (12:07). The woman boss has excellent local down-to-earth, great-quality food tips. They only speak a little English at the front desk, but they’re very quick and efficient at translating from Chinese to English on their phones. They have a rule I’ve never come across before after traveling very many countries: the washing machine can’t be used for underwear! But I remonstrated with them and they waived this rule. The beds have curtains for privacy. When I arrived, the room was too warm and stuffy, but they agreed to turn down the cooling system a little for the whole hostel to help.

Super location.. close to the bus station and the subway. The room and the bedding is clean. Storage locker is good for a large backpack. There is a laundry room with washer and dryer too.  You can pick up a detergent packet at the front desk for one yuan. There is also free drinking water dispenser down the hall. Super value for the price.

Staff nice and helpful. Bathroom could have been a bit cleaner although still fine for this price.

Really enjoyed my stay here, the staff were patient with me as we used translator apps to talk to each other, since I don't speak Chinese. The rooms are clean and tidy, and the bathroom has plenty of toilets, showers, and sinks. The toilets are squat style, just as a warning for foreigners. Really happy that the hostel provided a towel, hangers, slippers, and toothbrush kit.

About average as far as hostels go. It's a good price and reasonably close to the metro.

Fantastic hostel! Probably the best I've stayed in. Bed was comfortable and clean. Facilities were excellent and staff were friendly and helpful. Location is close to major attractions, street food and the metro. They have a common area where you can play pool and mahjong. Love their dog! Will definitely return to stay again.

Great location but cleanliness of bathroom could use a little more work, plus a note to foreign travellers that they've only got squat-style toilet (at least for the first level that I was staying in)

My stay at the hostel was fantastic! The rooms were spotlessly clean, and the common areas were well-maintained, creating a comfortable atmosphere. One of the best aspects was how close the hostel was to major attractions and the city center, making it easy to explore on foot. Despite being so centrally located, the surrounding area was surprisingly quiet and peaceful. It was the perfect balance between convenience and tranquility. The staff was friendly and always ready to offer recommendations. I couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay while visiting the city.
