Ulasan Hotel Alpina Luzern

The hotel is very close to the main train station, just 5 minutes walk. Also, it is close to the old town square, Chapel bridge… which can easily find restaurants nearby. While the hotel location js great, the room itself is not good to stay. There is no aircon in the room and even the standing fan is provided, it is not strong enough even I turn on the maximum level. Although the weather wasn’t too hot on that day, but it is very stuffy inside if I don’t open the window. But when I open the window, can hear the noise on the street, which wakes me up a few times in the middle of the night. I did not notice there is no aircon provided. I only found out this when I read back the review in Google - apparently the review in Google was quite bad, but not in Trip.com. Suggest travellers to think twice before booking.

The hotel is conveniently located near the train station and the KKL Culture and Convention Centre. There are also plenty of restaurants and supermarkets nearby. The room was a bit small, and on the day we checked in, it was around 30 degrees Celsius, making the room stuffy. We relied entirely on a standing fan that was constantly oscillating. It happened to be the local music festival, and there were small band performances in the nearby park and at the train station.

Great location. Short walk to Train station, old town and shopping area. Next to Mc Donald and Burger King. Very warm at night, no AC, have fans but still warm during summer month. We were there in August.We love the great location.

The hotel is clean and conveniently located, not too far from the station. However, there is no air conditioning, only a small and old portable fan, which was a major issue during the hot summer weather. The room became extremely hot at night, making it difficult to sleep, and I was sweating throughout the night. Unfortunately, this significantly affected my stay.

The room was tiny, with no space for luggage. I'm not sure why hotel prices near Lucerne train station were so high yesterday; I checked again and they've dropped by about 700, but my actual stay was very uncomfortable. The hotel is newly renovated and still smells of paint. They use a fan for cooling, which made me want to just run out as soon as morning came. Breakfast was at the hotel next door and was pretty good. The hotel offers self-check-in in the morning and afternoon. The location, however, is unbeatable – very convenient.

The location is decent; it's a bit tiring to walk 10 minutes from the train station with luggage. The entrance is easy to miss. Inside, it's generally clean and tidy. In the quadruple room, the toilet and sink are inside the room, while the shower is across the hall, which is a bit inconvenient for showering. The room for four people is a bit cramped, making it impossible to open suitcases, but the bedding is new and clean.

The best part is its proximity to the train station! Just a few steps from the train, you can drop off your luggage and completely free up your hands, avoiding the torture of dragging suitcases over the old town's cobblestone streets. The front desk service was also impeccable, both warm and professional. However, even with such a perfect location and amazing service, there's one fatal flaw – no air conditioning! Who would have thought that Switzerland in late May would defy expectations and be as hot as an oven? Accustomed to powerful air conditioning in Asia, returning to the room at night felt like a complimentary 'Swiss eco-sauna' experience. Location gets full marks, service gets full marks, but for the temperature, we had to rely on our strong willpower for some 'physical cooling'.

The location is very convenient, just 2-3 minutes’ walk to the main station. The room is cosy with air con and enough amenities for us. The staff are very polite and patient. Since the hotel is under renovation, we were arranged a room at the Hotel Monopol.

Clean and spacious! They have a microwave, cutlery, and a water dispenser! They also provide a visitor card for free public transport within the city. My only minor complaint is that there's only heating in winter.

Not suitable for guests after renovation Extremely strong paint/chemical odor in the room upon arrival. Hotel staff acknowledged recent renovation, and we later learned that other guests had already complained about the same odor. The issue was not disclosed before booking. We left within about 40 minutes because we could not reasonably stay in the room and had to pay for another hotel. Most disappointing: instead of taking the complaint seriously, the hotel dismissed it as “personal sensitivity” and refused a refund for the two unused nights. Guests deserve to know about serious renovation-related conditions before booking.

No aircond for asian was really terrible

The hotel smelled very strongly of new renovations. I felt dizzy after only 20 minutes in the room. I asked the front desk to change rooms and they charged an extra 100 Swiss francs per night, but at least the smell wasn't as bad. However, I later found out the new room had no cold water in the shower, so it was too hot to use. They ended up opening a room next door just so I could shower. The room itself was incredibly stuffy, and the two fans blowing didn't help at all. European buildings are just too well insulated. It was actually quite cool outside, so on the second night, I couldn't take it anymore and just slept with the windows wide open! I was really worried about mosquitoes, flies, and bees, but surprisingly, I had a very safe and cool night. The renovation smell also seemed to dissipate quite a bit. So, if you have similar concerns, you might not need to worry as much as I did!

The hotel is super convenient, just over 100 meters from the station. The room was on the small side, but it was clean and tidy, and even came with a capsule coffee machine.

Convenient location, fair sized room, and pleasant small balcony. But no air-con, so very hot at night, and loud with the windows open. Also the most stupid, convoluted light system I have ever come across in a hotel. The bathroom light will automatically turn off after a few minutes - even if you’re mid-shower. In fact, all the mid-priced hotels we stayed at in Switzerland were pretty poor value, it’s clear that they rely on tourists rather than repeat business.
