Great Mackinaw Beachfront Hotel

The hotel was right in the city and in walking distance to the ferry liners. The property was very clean and the staff was very accommodating. The room lead right to the beach. And the indoor waterpark was a blast for the kids. We will probably stay here again next year or for the 4th.

The room we had looked brand new. We were able to walk the sandy beach and see the water from our room. The kids loved the pool and the beach. It was exactly what we were looking for! Very friendly staff and very clean rooms! They even sold discounted tickets at the front desk.

The property itself looked abandoned. No other person was staying there. None! That should’ve been my first sign to leave. The room apparently was newly remodeled and the most piece together decor I’ve ever seen. Had a headache from the smell of polyurethane. Tje painting wasn’t completed in bathroom, black areas behind toilet and by base of tub. Very gross. The mattresses were literally so hard it hurt to sleep. You had to unplug anything to be able to plug something else in as not enough outlets. The TV did not work, It only turned on and no channels available. No rags are in the bathroom. It’s one lady working the front desk and she was the only human I saw there and she was very kind but the place should not be open. Overall, a horrible experience and I left a day early.

No elevator as a handicapped person that was an issue. Can tell they were getting ready for slow season. No shower curtain.

I love that the doors still had locks that open with an actual key. It felt more secure. The beachfront is beautiful. Crystal clear waters and hot enough to enjoy the lake. Super close to the ferry dock and in walking distance to the downtown area. We also walked to the Mackinaw bridge. It was a perfect experience to walk the bridge on Labor Day morning. I was also able to capture the sunrise, and the beautiful moon from our room. We were also happy with the indoor pool and the splash pad but I must warn you it was really cold water coming from the splash pad. Our kids went back to the pool. It was a shame that the hot tub was not in working order. The two water facilities is an awesome idea. Upon arriving, the front desk host was courteous. The first hotel room assigned was not ready. We were ok with that. We were told that it would be ready when we returned from our adventures in Mackinaw city/ island. We arrived after 3, when we arrived again in the evening, they gave us the key and we entered to find that it was not cleaned. It was actually pretty disgusting. (I’m sorry) The second one was cleaned but felt sketchy. I wish I lived nearer to help out. I suggest maybe updating the pillows, bedding and beds. Overall, it was a good stay for the price we payed. The location is wonderful!! The bathroom had a broken toilet seat that was just left there to look like it was not broken…. There was absolutely Horus coffee but….NO cups…..the office was closed and you had to go to a nearby hotel to check in, which was fine. It was waterfront and that was great, there was a balcony and we loved that. After the banquet we were in town for we came back and the entire ceiling was covered in small flying bugs. I get it we’re at the beach but I do wonder where/how they got in….. I’d stay again but I’d bring my own coffee for sure. Beds were clean and room was overall clean!

First of all when we arrived there was no one in the lobby to check us in, had to go next door to the quality inn to get our room. Room was ok but the next morning when we were ready to check out again no one in lobby plus no one in the lobby at the quality inn, note on door stating they opened at 7am and it was 715am and there was no one there, ended up going back to room and leaving the key there. Would not recommend staying there obviously they don't understand the meaning of customer service

I just DO NOT recomend for any price, not worth at all for a number af reasons i just list some, the office was close i had to pickup the keys from neighbor hotel, no breakfast, i reserved a premium room for which i payed extra ended in just a regular room, consider mosquito will be your best friend and companion for the night, the only good thing i enjoyed the morning view as the room was lake view, but overall i will not use this hotel again and dont recomend untill they update thier custom services (travel date 09/08/2023)
