This hotel is really a bargain for how nice it is. I found the service to be impeccable, breakfast buffet was incredible and the location is right in front of a metro station. A bonus is the contemporary art collection which reminds you that you are in Madrid and not just any nameless, nice hotel. I love the schluter brass detailing in the bathroom and bedroom walls. These design touches add such gravitas to a stay, even when short. Bravo, I would stay here again.

The hotel is new and very close to major tourist attractions. The room was comfortable, had standard JW bed, nothing stood out or special about the room accept it was still a newly hotel. I am an ambassador elite; however, for some reasons they could not provide a room upgrade. The front desk staff might need more training. One day, I requested to move to a different room because the assigned room was very noisy; the room was next to an elevator, and the cleaning staff parked their cleaning carts right outside; they were loud and chatty. No responses received. At checked in, the hotel offered a complimentary cheese plate in the room, however it smelled and stunk the entire room. It was a good gesture however I had food allergies and could not enjoy the offering. The hotel breakfast offering was great, and the staff at breakfast was very kind and amazing. Evening bar needed some attention.

Location’s good - near the airport and few minutes away from the shopping mall. Staff are really accommodating and friendly. Breakfast is good too. We can definitely recommend this hotel for travelers who want to stay an extra night or two to get away from the busy city of Madrid.

As a Marriott Titanium / Lifetime Platinum Elite Guest, our family [husband, wife and two young daughters] decided to visit Madrid, Spain to start our month-long 2023 summer vacation in Europe. We spent five (5) nights at Westin Palace Madrid using our Bonvoy points in late May / early June 2023. Please see the thirty-eight (38) photos we posted with this review of all aspects of the hotel. Within days after making our five (5) night stay using Marriott Bonvoy points approximately ten (10) months prior to our arrival date, we emailed General Manager, Pablo Flores and advised him of our future stay as well as our special requests, including our request for an Executive Suite, which would comfortably host our family of four. Within hours of our email, we received a thoughtful reply Paloma Hidalgo, Director of Rooms, whom immediately provided us with a complimentary guaranteed upgrade to an Executive Suite and further, Ms. Hidalgo readily granted all of our other special requests. The prompt response did not come as a surprise to us given how active the management of this property is in reading and promptly replying to past guests on Trip Advisor as well as the Marriott Bonvoy website, which is but a mere sign of management’s commitment to exemplary customer service. Not surprisingly, we were overjoyed with such a response and really looked forward to our future stay at The Westin Palace Madrid. This gorgeous historic hotel is magnificently located in Madrid overlooking the Neptune Fountain and less than a three minute walk to the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum, less than a five minute walk to the Prado Museum and less than a ten minute walk to the Reina Sofia Museum. It is also extremely close to Retiro Park and is within an easy 15 minute walk to Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor and the Gran Via as well as many bars, restaurant, trendy cafés, market and other cultural attractions. You can easily walk everywhere throughout the entire city but public transportation options abound in close proximity to the hotel as well. Our initial visit to the Westin Palace Madrid did not disappoint, especially when the hotel accommodated our extremely early check-in (before 9:00 am). The check-in process with Ms. Hidalgo, Estefanía Martinez, Front Office Assistant Manager and Juan at the reception desk was a breeze. Further, Ms. Martinez was kind enough to personally escort us to our suite and show us all of the features and amenities of same. This was very thoughtful on the part of Ms. Martinez and very much appreciated. Throughout our entire five (5) night stay, Ms. Hidalgo and Ms. Martinez were especially helpful and friendly. We simply loved our Palace Executive Suite with slightly over 1,000 square feet in total space with a sublime view of the Neptune Fountain; it was truly remarkable. We got an awesome room, great location and super Fun pool. It’s super popular with the Instagram crowd and they cater a bit to them. But everyone is super nice and friendly, treated our kids lovingly although they accidentally threw away our baby’s lovie and couldn’t find it later which super sucked. The bathroom flooded because it was so full of hair from previous guests, kind of gross. Got an absolutely terrible night sleep because you can hear every single Thing in the hotel from next door to above you. They seemed to be vacuuming rooms at 1:00AM above us and moving furniture which was super loud. Food was great, service was excellent but alot of snotty people.

For our one night stay, to catch an extra EU flight the next day, we booked a offer including free shuttle from /to the airport, free breakfast, 1 hour of private spa and 1 bottle of wine with fruit at our arrival, late checkout . Pros : close to the airport with the arrival pick up shuttle in the evening perfect, the room clean and comfortable, the breakfast pretty good. The 1 hour spa payed very relaxing, worth the price . Cons: the hotel policy shows that you can book your return transfer to the airport and the spa only during check-in, not in advance. You need also to write before your arrival the required time to have in the room wine and fruit previously paid , and that's exactly what we did. We informed that we should arrive at about 20,00 and we would like our wine and fruit at 20,30, to enjoy it before dine out. We wait for it about 1 hour, but at about 21,30 we went out to have dinner, without having received what ordered. We found it just backing to the room after dinner. Furthermore, checking in, as per hotel rules, we booked our shuttle at 13,30 the day after and the spa at 10,00 am, everything was confirmed by the reception. In the morning we decided to ask if was possible to enjoy the spa at 11,00 instead of 10,00 and they said was OK but.....no one booking at 10,00 was in their database!!! So it could happen that someone else occupied it in the mean time as it resulted with no booking! The most important disappointment was after checking out arriving at the shuttle bus stop at 13,20 to catch the 13,30 shuttle as per our confirmed booking, without being able to catch it because the hotel staff gave all the available seats at the crew members (without telling us nothing during check out!!!) , telling us not to warry because we had to wait no more than 10 more minutes another shuttle...The next shuttle was at 14,00 (so the other scheduled available not earlier ) and we had to wait 30 minutes standing with bags outside the hotel, with the concrete risk to be late for our extra EU flight !!!
