Relais & Chateaux Heritage Hotel

Madrid|1.24km dari Auditorio Nacional de Musica
The Heritage is a boutique hotel with 40-something rooms and the emphasis is very much on a personal service. It’s part of the Relais and Chateau group, a chain I’d always avoided in the past as I’d assumed it would be beyond my means. How fortunate I was this time to take a chance. All of the staff are unfailingly polite, friendly and helpful and I can honestly say I’ve never been so well looked after in a hotel before. Alicia and Dana checked me in, seamlessly, and I was offered a glass of Cava whilst this happened. I was then shown to my room - a Junior Suite - on the sixth floor, where the decoration could best be described as opulent. A huge bed, an antique desk and chair, two further chairs, flatscreen tv, Nespresso coffee machine, mini-bar, safe etc. Everything you’d expect in a high end hotel. Enough coat hangers as I was travelling solo but possibly not quite enough if two people had shared the room. But that’s a small gripe. The bathroom included a hydrotherapy bath, which I didn’t use, and the largest rain forest shower I’ve come across. Despite being on a busy road junction there was minimal traffic noise thanks to effective double glazing. Internally, I was disturbed only once by a slamming door. There will always be thoughtless travellers who let that happen but that’s not the fault of the hotel. The bed mattress was a little on the firm side for me. It must be a difficult issue for hotels of any level as it's often just down to personal taste. But this is a good example of the extraordinary service given by the Heritage. I happened to mention the mattress to Julian, the General Manger, who explained that because it was a public holiday in Madrid (the day before Good Friday) it meant he was unable to get hold of a replacement mattress for me. But he did despatch his head of housekeeping to a department store to buy a mattress topper which was then added to my bed. This was a big improvement and definitely above and and beyond what I was expecting. The hotel restaurant must also get a mention. It’s presided over by a two-star Michelin chef (the stars awarded for a restaurant elsewhere) and was a revelation. At dinner the flavours were outstanding. And from the same kitchen came a very good cooked breakfast each morning. It was my first visit to Madrid and I was there for a week over Easter. The city is as beautiful as everyone says and I saw some amazing art and enjoyed spectacular weather. But I also struck lucky in my choice of hotel. Special thanks to manager Leticia for trying to get me in to “the best” flamenco show in town. Alas, it was fully booked on the nights I was free. But then Alicia found somewhere else for me so all’s well that ends well!

If you have the slightest self respect and value your time, I urge you not to stay at this Hotel. I travel about 100 nights/year and would put this hotel in the Top 3 of my worst hotels. Not only is this one of those nasty old 90s style buildings that smell and are loud, but management here is beyond bad and straight or illegal what they do. We’ve stayed here for two nights and had a separate reservation for a third “late check-in” night only. We didn’t enjoy the first nights as there were just so many things wrong. Starting with maids vacuuming the hallways at 7am!!! On a Saturday morning, exposed wires in the room, holes in the bathroom walls and so much more that those two nights were already not worth our time. In addition to all those “easily fixable” issues, the hotel is so badly insulated that on both sides of the hotel you feel like you’re sleeping next to the motorway. This was topped off with wifi that would constantly disconnect, below 1mbps and pretty much unusable in general. The safe didn’t even fit a normal MacBook. Things got topped off when we canceled our third night within their own T&C, even got a successful message on their website just to be rudely told that we were too late (not true). Going through the reviews here, this isn’t a first time for them either. I’ve spoken with several people at the front desk about this, showing our success screenshots and much more but they only referred to “the hotel manager isn’t here” on three different occasions. I was then promised an email from the manager, but in more than a week, I’ve never gotten one. I’ll now have to go through a lawyer to get something that way fixed. Don’t go there, there’s plenty of better hotels around and everything there is below average.

Yeah it's basically a student hostel / dorm. But that's ok. I paid for the top level room ”Executive Suite with Terrace” and it was still half the price of the nearby hotels. Cons: - If you're over 30 you will feel like a dinosaur - No alcohol allowed in building - they will yell at you if they see you bringing back a beer to have in your room. - The rooms definitely feel like they were furnished for absolutely zero euros. They still manage to be comfortable, but they're not pretty and everything feels cheap. Pros: - Very casual - Very good value for money - Free small breakfast - Rolling blackout shutters on the room and good sound isolation makes for easy sleeping - Friendly staff - Kitchenette in room (at executive studio level) - Great little roof terrace and, if you upgrade, private terrace on the room. Young solo travelers and couples - especially if you speak Spanish - should definitely check it out.

很乾凈的小酒店,一切都和預想的一樣。酒店離地鐵很近,附近食物選擇也別較多。值得推薦。下次馬德裏首選酒店!

I stayed there 5 nights room 310 and my stay was most enjoyable. Let's start with the pluses. All the staff were super friendly, from check-in to room ladies to breakfast Ladies, they were always in a good mood. The room is à bit tired but clean and functional with a small kitchenette. You must leave à deposit for both coffee maker and safe key. There is a washer and dryer on the 7th floor. Total for one load is 4,€. Don't forget to bring your own detergent though. Now, the not so good parts. Breakfast lacks variety and is the same from day 1 to day 5. I had it at a discount in my hotel room , so no complains. The location is super 👌 handy from the airport and it takes 35 minutes with one change at Mar de Cristal. Prosperidad station is on the brown 4 line. The area is safe but very dirty. I guess I will never get used to it. Papers, empty bottles etc...it's not japan it's Europe, and Spain, just like other places can be very dirty. The métro is super clean though, which makes a huge contrast. People, residents and some tourists alike seem to have no respect....sad Conclusion. Good hotel with huge room. Friendly staff. If you can get a good price under €65 a night it's worth it.

The place looks really shady inside. They only have inflatable beds which are extremely uncomfortable. No lockers, but you can ask the reception to open the warehouse door where everyone stores their suitcases and important stuff and this warehouse is locked at all times.

From the moment I arrived I was made to feel very welcome. The reception staff were helpful and friendly. The hotel is ideally situated very near a Metro station, not too far from the bustling city centre, but has its own 'neighbourhood' atmosphere, which I enjoyed. The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. I decided to stay for breakfast a couple of times. It was the usual buffet style, but the food was plentiful and good. In addition to all this, the big positive for me was its location. It's very near the Metro, so it's really easy to get to from the airport, really easy to get anywhere in the city. It's close enough to the city centre that you can pop back for a couple of hours in the afternoon to relax and chill out, before heading back out again for the evening.
